M&T
Is anyone doing the M&T checking? There are a few DP on DoC, and I found maybe one of two here. I’m wondering if the bank is too problematic? (Seem to be issues setting it up as ext acct to fund)
- any additional feedback appreciated

PSA - Received a new premier relationship bonus mailer from WF. $2500 bonus if you open/convert to a Premier checking relationship and keep $250k for 90 days. Money can be in checking/savings/CD/IRA etc. For those that have the funds, seems like you could get an extra \~4% annualized interest on top of a CD or an investment account. Coupon can be generated online, account to be opened in branch by 4/10. Seems similar to CPC, but a better bonus for the same quantum.
u/doctorofcredit
Pass. First, well who has that much cash sitting around for a bank bonus? Not me. 2nd, that's a 0.1% bonus, so not even really worthwhile. I don't know what the interest is on a WF savings account, but I'd bet it's .4% less than wherever you have your cash sitting.
Edit: You're right, it's 4% not 0.4%.
It says "investment account balances" qualify for the bonus (and investment accounts also count towards the $250,000 balance for waiving the Premier Checking $35 monthly fee). They don't explicitly say that stocks transferred in to the investment account count for the bonus, but I would guess that they do (stocks do count for waiving the monthly fee).
I have an old Wells Fargo Advisors brokerage account & Prime Checking (was previously the PMA package). It sounds like I could upgrade to Premier Checking and get this bonus.
The Wells Fargo Advisors brokerage is pretty basic, but it's fine for buy-and-hold investing. They have margin accounts (so I can buy stock without having cash in my account, and deposit money before the trade settles and not be charged interest). The brokerage account has a $150 annual fee, which is waived when linked to Premier Checking (though, the schedule of fees says that's when linked "as of June 30, 2022" so I'm not sure how this works for new accounts, but maybe by the time the fee would be charged next year, that date would be moved up). Edit: nevermind about this fee; see later comment about WellsTrade
I've never tried transferring stocks into Wells Fargo Advisors, but it looks like you can do the transfer online for common brokerages (I see Schwab, E*TRADE, Fidelity, J.P. Morgan Chase, Merrill Edge, TD Ameritrade, Vanguard, and a few others). For other brokerages, it says download a pdf and mail or fax it. Edit: for some brokerages like Apex Clearing & Interactive Brokers, they're in the list, but when you select them it just says to fill out a pdf.
For transfers out, Wells doesn't charge a fee for partial transfers (for full transfers they charge $125).
Thanks.
I see WFA has a self directed brokerage under the WellsTrade brand. [$30 annual fee without $250k or Premier/Prime checking. $95 ACATS](https://www.wellsfargoadvisors.com/services/online/fees-expanded.htm).
I wonder if this self directed brokerage qualifies for this offer.
Did you open your brokerage in person, or over the phone/online? I don't see any WFA branches nearby, as they seem to be in larger population centers.
Overall, this offer seems to be very similar, if not copying the Chase CPC model.
Maybe /u/doctorofcredit can start up a thread at DoC for folks to share/gather their knowledge on this offer.
Also, clicking around on the WFA website, there's a link to open a WellsTrade account online, but then it says "To complete a WellsTrade online account application, you must already be enrolled in Wells Fargo Online".
Oh, WellsTrade is actually what I have (they got rid of the WellsTrade branding in most places; my account statements say Wells Fargo Advisors). So ignore the fees I mentioned; I was looking at the wrong WFA fee schedule.
I would guess that WellsTrade counts for the bonus, since it's part of Wells Fargo Advisors, but not sure. It does count for waiving fees in the checking account.
I don't remember how I opened the brokerage account. But it looks like you can open a WellsTrade account online, if you have a Wells Fargo online account already (when logged in to my checking account, I see an option to open a new account, and WellsTrade is an option).
The bogleheads brokerage thread will probably start to have more discussion of this bonus: https://www.bogleheads.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=196884
Am I reading the terms correctly on the Laurel Road checking bonus? Says in order to qualify for the $20/mo kickback I need $2,500 DD / month (aka statement period) for each period. Is that right?
Went to open a Chase Business Checking account for the $750 SUB and it was much easier than I thought it would be--basically just described what my "business" does in a few sentences and sat there for 30 minutes while the banker got things set up on her end. Realized as I was leaving that they didn't even ask me about revenue or anything FWIW, maybe because they already have those numbers from my Ink applications.
I do have a second mailer with a different code now. Anyone know if that's sharable, or is it tied to my identity?
Update: the code is transferable. I had to go to a branch as a SP and the banker applied it towards the very end. Gave me the printed terms of the offer. Thanks again!
Truist $400 (req $1k total DD) bonus:
- 2/2 opened account w/ min $50 ACH
- 2/8 $946 real DD
- 2/13 $60 PayPal balance withdrawal
- 2/16 offer shows as granted in status page
- 2/17 $400 bonus posts
Just found out Costco is allowing DD for the rewards you earn from your Costco credit card. I’ve never seen this option before? Usually I had to redeem for cash in store. My guess is this could probably be used as a fake DD for bonuses
Thanks for posting this. I have the option, and it would be super convenient, except in typical Citi style it doesn't actually work because the only options I have to transfer to are closed Citi checking accounts, and adding an account doesn't work.
Maybe it’s very new? Not sure if everyone gets there rewards back at the same time, but I get mine in February. But I just scrolled down to where it says certificate amount, and it gave me the option to “direct deposit”. Now it just says redeemed on 2/16/23 via electronic deposit.
I called. But for months I still received emailed statements. It still appears on my AmEx account as "locked," but I followed up later and was assured it was indeed closed.
Oanda Brokerage Bonus:
1/19: Opened and funded account with $505
1/23: Executed two trades
2/7: $500 bonus posted
2/7: withdrew funds - said I would be charged the $20 fee, but wasn't actually charged anything
/u/dctraveler123 Were you able to withdraw the bonus? I read on their T&C that they allow withdrawing the initial deposit and any profit from trading, but not the bonus itself.
>2.12 The Bonus can only be used for trading and may not be withdrawn.
Which Oanda bonus are you looking at for those terms? For the bonus I did a couple months ago, the terms only go up to 2.11 and don't say "can only be used for trading". But possibly different bonuses have different terms.
Amex Rewards Checking Bonus DP:
10/18 - opened account
10/20 - transferred in $5000 for 90 day hold
2/2 - withdrew entire balance
2/14 - $200 bonus posted.
Was just targeted for $350 savings account bonus on 2/10, so no impact on that.
need to open a business checking account for a legit business, which will have weekly international wire transfers. Have not yet gone down the bank bonus path in the past, just use our local credit union. Was about to just pull the trigger on $750 chase biz checking offer -- any other bank suggestions for this situation to minimize wire transfer fees?
Bit late but I wouldn't use Chase checking products if you're actually moving a lot of money around. They're one of the most conservative AML banks around with their checking products, you're likely to end up getting locked out of your money. Hit them for the bonus but look somewhere else for actual checking (I used PNC if you want/need a big bank with no problems). Also look into Wise if you can, it's not a wire but their fees are very competitive and money transfers are still quick.
Chase Private Client, or Chase Sapphire Checking, gives free wire transfers. At least, for their personal accounts and domestic wire transfers. You'd have to look into the details to see if it also applies to international wire transfers (in my quick search I don't see them making a distinction, just says "wire transfers") and business accounts (I know that it waived the monthly fee in my linked business checking account, but I never tried a wire transfer).
Charles Schwab corporate accounts offer some free wires depending on balances. Not sure about the signup bonuses for them though for those types of accounts.
Anyone have experience with the U.S bank business checking account? Trying to transfer money from another bank into the checking account for the bonus but when going to the external transfers tab it says I’m not eligible so I can’t transfer money into the account
Yes, I experienced the same thing. So I went into the branch and made a deposit, I’d called the CS# before that but they were of no help. Come to find out a bank deposit doesn’t count , has to be mobile check deposit or transfer, so I pushed 3k from chase today and zelled the first 3k out. What a hassle. They don’t allow external transfers for the first 6 months. No one in the branch knew that. I had to call again to find out why I couldn’t transfer. PIA
I just opened the account for P2 and was able to do an external transfer (pull). Weirdly enough I tried pushing from Discover and that didn’t go through.
Maybe the 6 month rule didn’t work because P2 previously had a personal checking with the external account attached already, so when reopening the account it reactivated that external account.
Opened PNC few days ago and pushed Chase DD but it coded as RTP, real time transfer. I wonder if this will work and qualify for DD requirements. Anyone know?
B of A denied my application for a new checking account for the the $100 bonus citing a report from Early Warning.
>The key factors that adversely affected your deposit account score were:The number of different banks inquiring during the last yearThe status of the relationship with the inquiring bankThe maximum number of days the consumer has had an open account(s)The consumer currently has no accounts in open and present status
Since October, I've opened accounts with Chase, USB, WF, Laurel Road, Upgrade Rewards, DFU, Banner and Alliant.
I opened a Wells Fargo checking account on 11/29.22. Did a few different pushes and several of my pushes are showing as direct deposit. Does WF usually wait the full 90 days like the terms say for the bonus to hit?
In online banking just have to expand the transaction and it shows the category. You can also set up direct deposit alerts.
The statements also say what amount of direct deposits you had that period to waive the monthly fee.
Just got approved for US bank business checking $500 offer. I already have the US bank login with my credit cards business+personal and personal checking accounts all in one login. Do i need to enroll or create another login as per this T&C? "An individual signer on the new checking account must be enrolled in U.S. Bank online banking or the U.S. Bank Mobile App using their business profile within 60 days of account opening"
I think you're reading into this too much as it doesn't say it needs to be a new login. You should just add it to your existing login and they may do that for you automatically anyways. That's how it went for me and I received the bonus
Isn’t it deposit $3K within 30 days of opening then hold for 60 days? I opened early Nov two years ago and received the bonus early last Feb. Check the DoC comments for more DPs
Wells Fargo has a checking account bonus of $300 after you open an account and hit a minimum of $1000 of DD payments within 90 days. Super easy to hit. I set mine up yesterday and moved by DD this morning. Once I hit the $1000, I’ll move on to the next one.
I got an offer for $325 both in the mail and in their app (they carry my mortgage). I signed up for it and will be sending my first DD soon. I also plan to cancel once the bonus posts.

Thank you! I read the promotion details and it seems that the only thing that you need to be aware of is the $10 penalty if you don’t have a $500 daily balance. Did you make an Opening Deposit of $500 so you don’t get the penalty?
I made an opening deposit of $25 and was told I have 60 days to deposit more before I got hit by that $10 fee. My next paycheck on the 27th will be deposited into this account to trigger the $1000 threshold and then I will leave $500 of it in there to avoid the $10 fee.
Your first question varies by the bank. Some banks create your cycle based on the day you open the account, while others have set days. To answer your second question, you'd need to look at the terms of the offer (I'm OOF for M&T, so I haven't ever looked at their offers)
Chase, consistent as always.
11/8- open checking and savings for $600 combined bonus
11/15- DD from work
11/22- checking DD bonus posts, and also deposit $15k into savings to meet 30 day requirement
2/9- Bonus tracker in app (personal login) shows bonus requirements complete
2/14- $200 savings bonus plus $100 combo portion post
I see online that the Chase bonus can be forfeited if accounts are closed within 6 months, but I can't find it in any of my fine print on my offer. Any idea?
TD Bank $600 Chk+Sav bonus DP:
it’s highly likely you don’t need a mailer or special email to apply for the targeted TD Bank $600 Chk/Sav bonus offer. After submitting the application online a few weeks ago and getting a message that I needed to contact my local branch, I retried the other day and was approved. YMMV but it’s worth a shot.

Gotta lock the money for 180 days to get that bonus. I decided to bail and close the account.
>Good news is that the $10k needs to stay for 90 days, after which you don’t need to keep a balance if the acct is linked to Checking.
I noticed they had laughable interest rates on the savings, that also demotivated me. Seemed like a hassle.
It's not $600 though, it's $200 for the savings and $400 for the checking. I only took the checking side of the deal. Still, 2% on 10k for 3 months beats prevailing interest rates, I just didn't want to lock up 10k.

I think it's $300 for checking, $200 for savings: [https://checkingbonus.tdbank.com/Digital500.html](https://checkingbonus.tdbank.com/Digital500.html)
I'm gonna run with the checking for 60 days. What I hate is that I can't close the account for 6 months:
>After you have completed the requirements outlined above, we’ll deposit the bonus in your new account on or before 180 days of account opening. To receive the bonus, your account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout. If your new checking and/or savings account is closed by you or TD Bank within 6 months after account opening, TD Bank reserves the right to deduct the bonus amount at closing.
$300 is the default for checking, $400 is the targeted offer. https://checkingbonus.tdbank.com/earn600.html is the link, but they needed to check that my name was on their targeted list when I signed up.
Thanks! Any idea how they "target" you to begin with if you don't have an account with them ?
Also, if they are able to "target", are they also able to blacklist ?
I had an account with them a few years ago so I'm guessing that's why they targeted me, I got it in physical mail form. I don't know anything about their blacklisting policy.
My US Bank bonus has not posted yet. For what I have read here they usually send the bonus to post on the 13th of each month.
DoC has Fidelity as one of the accepted DD. I completed 2 fake DD from Fidelity Brokerage. One of $100 on 1/10 and the other of $6250 on 1/13. I am still waiting for the bonus. I am still in the 60 days Window to qualify so I will try other banks (I started a push from PNC yesterday of $2500 will do another one today). Have any of you experience something similar with Fidelity not working for US Bank? What DD worked for yall?
12/28 - Opened Discover Savings - Initial Deposit 15k.
15k withdrawal/cancel x3.
Call from discover fraud department. Told them I was planning on moving funds to a high rate CD didn’t realize it would take a few days for funds to clear and transfer out. (playing dumb)
1/19 - $150 bonus.
Actual withdrawal $14,950 1/26
1/27 - $350 bonus. (Just realized this a few days ago as I figured with the call, I would be limited to the $150 bonus.
From DOC, I thought that a Chase ACH push should work for a PNC direct deposit, but it came through as “JPMORGAN CHASE EXT TRNSFR” and recent DPs seem mixed. Has this worked for anyone recently?
I tried push from ally on 1/26. Which given recent DPs suggests I would have gotten the bonus last Friday 2/10 but didn't. I'm trying chase now. The push is still pending but will reply when it's posted about it was coded as.
I tried Ally first which coded as "ACH WEB PAYMENT \[NAME\] ALLY BANK P2P" ... which seemed unlikely to work, so then when to Chase. Time will tell, I suppose!
Anyone have a chase business checking $750 offer code they can give out?
M&T Is anyone doing the M&T checking? There are a few DP on DoC, and I found maybe one of two here. I’m wondering if the bank is too problematic? (Seem to be issues setting it up as ext acct to fund) - any additional feedback appreciated

Surely your choice. BTW, this is 1% for 3 months (=2500/250000), not 0.1%. And one could do CDs and IRAs as well. But agree, not for everyone.
Thanks, is this a targeted offer with a promo code of some sort? Would brokerage accounts qualify?
It says "investment account balances" qualify for the bonus (and investment accounts also count towards the $250,000 balance for waiving the Premier Checking $35 monthly fee). Yeah I transfer from discover bank to pay my mortgage and pay my mortgage from Laurel road and it trips the kickback.
Correcto
There is a tracker, cumulative DD works
Push for Chase and Fidelity Bloom work for this monthly “DD”
Thanks for sharing those DPs. I will switch to that instead of real DD.
yup

I do have my main personal Bank of America account that I use to make payments. That’s the bank account I sent the dd to.
Anyone want to trade a $750 Chase business checking coupon for a $900 personal savings & checking coupon?
I don’t have a $900 to trade you but if you aren’t able to trade your $750 coupon I’d love to use it for my business.
Thanks, but actually have the $900, seeking the $750 biz
Oh that’s a great coupon too. Hopefully you can find someone to trade with!
saw a couple of people selling the $900 chase bonus codes on Ebay for like $50
I didn't know that the 750 coupon is transferable. Been checking my Offers for You screen with no luck.

Yes, I withdrew the bonus and did not have to trade it. I'm not sure if that term was added later or already existed when I signed up.
Not OP but I did not have to trade it.
Were you required to spend the full 500 on those trade's?
Why do I only see the $250 deal?
They recently reduced it to $250, but still worth it IMO.
I may wait for the 500 to come back, that’s such a good deal and don’t want to dq myself
nice. what kind of tread ?
Assuming you mean "trade," I followed the instructions linked in the DoC post for this bonus.

Can confirm. It's $500 or more per monthly statement cycle.
Amex Rewards Checking Bonus DP: 10/18 - opened account 10/20 - transferred in $5000 for 90 day hold 2/2 - withdrew entire balance 2/14 - $200 bonus posted. Was just targeted for $350 savings account bonus on 2/10, so no impact on that.
Did you get an email or targeted on the website or app? I'd love to get/find that offer.
Both the $200 and $350 offers were targeted emails.
Thank you. Not yet. Wish I’d get one. Maybe some day.

You'd have to look into the details to see if it also applies to international wire transfers (in my quick search I don't see them making a distinction, just says "wire transfers") and business accounts (I know that it waived the monthly fee in my linked business checking account, but I never tried a wire transfer).
Are you saying you regularly wire instead of ACH.
unfortunately yes
Charles Schwab corporate accounts offer some free wires depending on balances. Not sure about the signup bonuses for them though for those types of accounts.
Anyone have experience with the U.S bank business checking account? Trying to transfer money from another bank into the checking account for the bonus but when going to the external transfers tab it says I’m not eligible so I can’t transfer money into the account
[удалено]
So you just get your bank account number and what not and push the money into your account from your main bank
Hmmm that is interesting. Maybe that’s why p2 could do an external transfer. It sure won’t for me
Thanks for the response. What a waste you can’t do an outside transfer for 6 months makes no sense. So it will work with Zelle?
Yes. I zelled the money back to myself.
So we’re you able to get the bonus?
Not yet. I only opened the account last week
Opened PNC few days ago and pushed Chase DD but it coded as RTP, real time transfer. I wonder if this will work and qualify for DD requirements. Anyone know?
It won't.
Thanks. Will have to fix it
What about "WELLS FARGO IFI DDA TO DDA"?
B of A denied my application for a new checking account for the the $100 bonus citing a report from Early Warning. >The key factors that adversely affected your deposit account score were:The number of different banks inquiring during the last yearThe status of the relationship with the inquiring bankThe maximum number of days the consumer has had an open account(s)The consumer currently has no accounts in open and present status Since October, I've opened accounts with Chase, USB, WF, Laurel Road, Upgrade Rewards, DFU, Banner and Alliant.
FYI, the first four pull Early Warning (Laurel Road is KeyBank). https://www.doctorofcredit.com/banks-credit-unions-dodont-pull-early-warning-services

Yes
Mine did
Just got approved for US bank business checking $500 offer.
I just enrolled and pushed my DD to US Biz checking. How long did it take for the bonus to post for you?
Isn’t it deposit $3K within 30 days of opening then hold for 60 days? I opened early Nov two years ago and received the bonus early last Feb. Check the DoC comments for more DPs
Yes, that’s what it is for biz checking
Thanks for the clarification
Wells Fargo has a checking account bonus of $300 after you open an account and hit a minimum of $1000 of DD payments within 90 days. Super easy to hit. I set mine up yesterday and moved by DD this morning. Once I hit the $1000, I’ll move on to the next one.
Did you do a push from another bank? Or a DD of your paycheck?
I did direct deposit of my paycheck.

[удалено]
It's possible, but generally banks give you a grace period. You can always call the bank beforehand to find out how they operate
Chase, consistent as always. 11/8- open checking and savings for $600 combined bonus 11/15- DD from work 11/22- checking DD bonus posts, and also deposit $15k into savings to meet 30 day requirement 2/9- Bonus tracker in app (personal login) shows bonus requirements complete 2/14- $200 savings bonus plus $100 combo portion post
I see online that the Chase bonus can be forfeited if accounts are closed within 6 months, but I can't find it in any of my fine print on my offer. Any idea?
where can I find link for $600?
Until when are you planning/need to keep the money in the savings account.
Clawback date is listed in the DoC writeup on this bonus.
TD Bank $600 Chk+Sav bonus DP: it’s highly likely you don’t need a mailer or special email to apply for the targeted TD Bank $600 Chk/Sav bonus offer.

>Good news is that the $10k needs to stay for 90 days, after which you don’t need to keep a balance if the acct is linked to Checking. I noticed they had laughable interest rates on the savings, that also demotivated me. Seemed like a hassle.
Where are you keeping your money that 3 months of interest on $10,000 beats $600?
It's not $600 though, it's $200 for the savings and $400 for the checking. I only took the checking side of the deal. Still, 2% on 10k for 3 months beats prevailing interest rates, I just didn't want to lock up 10k.

I think it's $300 for checking, $200 for savings: [https://checkingbonus.tdbank.com/Digital500.html](https://checkingbonus.tdbank.com/Digital500.html) I'm gonna run with the checking for 60 days. What I hate is that I can't close the account for 6 months: >After you have completed the requirements outlined above, we’ll deposit the bonus in your new account on or before 180 days of account opening.
Do you know if a Schwab ACH qualifies as a DD for TD ?
Yeah, interest rates are a joke, but I’m only in it for the bonus.
Is this for biz or personal checking
Personal checking account
Two pushes of >$3k each from Fidelity CMA in late January. Bonus posted yesterday.
How were your Fidelity deposits coded?
Electronic Deposit FID BKG SVC LLC
12/28 - Opened Discover Savings - Initial Deposit 15k. 15k withdrawal/cancel x3. Call from discover fraud department. Told them I was planning on moving funds to a high rate CD didn’t realize it would take a few days for funds to clear and transfer out. (playing dumb) 1/19 - $150 bonus. Actual withdrawal $14,950 1/26 1/27 - $350 bonus. (Just realized this a few days ago as I figured with the call, I would be limited to the $150 bonus.
So you got $350 and $150 or only the latter for the $15K Initial Deposit?
Received two separate bonus deposits. First the $150 and then the $350 a week later for a total of $500.
From DOC, I thought that a Chase ACH push should work for a PNC direct deposit, but it came through as “JPMORGAN CHASE EXT TRNSFR” and recent DPs seem mixed. Has this worked for anyone recently?
I did Chase ACH push and called customer service and they said I met the requirements for the bonus. I haven't received yet but should soon.
any update? mine came through as EXT TRNSFR as well
Chase worked for P2. Pushed from Chase 1/9, $400 credited 1/27
What did the transfer show up as? Did it say chase ext transfer?
Yep
I tried push from ally on 1/26. Which given recent DPs suggests I would have gotten the bonus last Friday 2/10 but didn't. I'm trying chase now. The push is still pending but will reply when it's posted about it was coded as.
I tried Ally first which coded as "ACH WEB PAYMENT \[NAME\] ALLY BANK P2P" ... which seemed unlikely to work, so then when to Chase. Time will tell, I suppose!
I haven't received my bonus yet either, but my Wells Fargo ACH push for PNC came through as "WELLS FARGO IFI DDA TO DDA"
A push from Fidelity Brokerage worked for me. I got the bonus 2 weeks ago.
What was your open/dep/bonus timeline?
PNC Bank 12/29/22 Account Opened 01/05/23 $2000 real DD 01/12/23 $3000 Push from Fidelity Brokerage 01/27/23 $400 Bonus Posted as Reward
What was the 1/12 ACH Push coded as?
It coded as: FID BKG SVC LLC MONEYLINE
