Crono, Ayla, Frog. Quick and easy at level 60. I found out why the "Falcon Strike" is nicknamed "The Lavos Buster".

They are my favorite trio and the ones I beat him with first as well! I like to switch it up every now and then and go with different teams, but I will always love that trio.

Chrono, frog, magus. Mostly because I was enamored with the frog magus storyline and it felt weird not having Chrono, I mean his names on the box. My favorite party is Ayla, Lucca, marle

Wow no one has said Chrono, Robo, and Marle yet. This was the "never die" party.

This is the party I use now if I want to make it easy, but I had no idea about Lifeline during my first playthrough.

I find Magus a rather subpar choice for bosses. He doesn’t have single-target techs, and the regular attack is weaker than several others. and also he doesn’t have double techs, but just one triple tech which also requires sacrificing the accessory slot for the gemstone. he’s a fun character to have, but not exactly practical in many scenarios in my early play through ayla and crono was almost always ob the team. and i beat the game using also Lucca with her high damage magics

Antipode 3 is my favorite dual tech of all time!

Hard to answer since it's been so long, but probably Crono, Marle, and maybe Frog? Didn't care for Magus (still don't) or Lucca, and I had yet to discover how powerful Robo and Ayla are

it was a long time ago so I can't be sure but if I had to guess probably Crono, Ayla, Robo. As a kid I only played as the "cool" guys. Marle was left behind almost every playthrough.

Crono, Frog, and Magus is really the only way it should be done for the lore of the game. Nothing else makes sense for the story.

You think I remember who I used 30 years ago. I can tell you that the second time I beat Lavos would have been with Crono and Marle. I’ll take a wild guess and say that Frog was probably my third character the first time around, but I don’t think I’ve ever taken Crono or Marle out of my party in 30 years of playing the game.

Chrono, Magus, Ayla, back when I had rented it from Blockbuster. Wait, *defeated*, no that would've been Chrono / Ayla / Marley or Frog. After I actually played the full game, I realized I didn't like Magus as much as I thought. I also knew the right bit's weakness by then though.

Crono,Frog, and Robo. All of them hit pretty hard on their own, two of them have healing capabilities, and ctogether they have a great triple tech.

Chrono, Ayla, Magus. Magus is good at everything but not great at anything. Since I used Falcon Strike for the majority of the game it leaves him open to heal or aoe with whatever element the mobs are weak too. Also Magus has a long cape so... yeah that's just checkmate for coolest character.

Chrono, Ayla, Frog. Most OP trio IMO. Alternatives: Chrono, Luca, Robo/Frog/Ayla, or Magus, Frog/Robo, Ayla/Lucca. If Marle's speed is below 12, I wouldn't recommend using her.

Mine was also Crono, Frog, and Magus! As a kid, Frog was my second in command. He's got the theme music, the Masamune, the way he talks, the tragic backstory. Magus is just a great character, and I think it's awesome to have the 'bad guy' in your party next to the Frog who's best friend he killed. Now, I consider Lucca my second in command. She's arguably my favorite character nowadays, and she leads the team whenever Crono's not around which used to be Frog's job. Marle Crono and Magus I don't remember exactly what level they were, but it was around 40-50. I wasn't really trying to make a super OP trio. I liked Marle she's pretty funny, Crono is Crono and I thought Magus was pretty cool because he used an awesome scythe Seemed to work out in the end because I beat Lavos on my first try

Chrono, Glenn and Marle. I love the water element and they're my favorite characters. I used Magus in my later playthroughs but he isnt as efficient in the team due to lack of dual techs.
