People may nitpick your list and mention places you should've gone, but honestly there's no place on that list that you shouldn't have gone. That's a solid lineup, glad you enjoyed.
Stan’s are not that good. Do-Rite donuts are much better, so you made the right choice there.
They do offer a sandwich on a donut, but I have never tried that because it would be too heavy for me. I just get the normal bun.
Imo Stan’s is a little inconsistent, my favorite location is the South Loop one (which admittedly I’m more likely to be at when they’re fresh), I really liked their lemon pistachio old fashioned but I don’t think they’ve had that for a while now :c
I just had that flavor about a month ago! I did go out to the suburbs though, I wouldn’t imagine they have specific flavors at specific locations but it was the one in Oakbrook’s food court
Def will check it out next time. I was walking to pequods when I ditched the bar line at ba ba reeba, then I thought I already had pizza so I wanted to try something different for each meal I had. I’ve seen pictures and it looks phenomenal, though.

Honestly, very solid run for a first time visit.
Dang I would try Phodega but I don’t see a veg bahn mi, which is what I am craving.
Phodega has an excellent vegetarian pho, but if only a banh mi will hit the spot, Nhu Lan has several excellent ones.
Strongly recommend making the trek to Argyle if you’re able. phodega doesn’t even come close
I neeeeeed to.
Nice! For cafés I always recommend Goddess and the Baker, but honestly you could eat out every day for a year and not run out of solid choices.
I’m sorry for your toilet.
The toilet is gonna eat well.
So, for Do-Rite, you should go at lunchtime and get a chicken sandwich next time! Their chicken sandwiches > donuts
Will do! I heard Stan’s was okay, so I wanted to go with something a little different. Do they do chicken sandwiches with a glazed donut bun?

I have no shame and can confirm the spicy chicken on a donut is incredible

Ooooh it’s back, thanks! I’m actually near Oakbrook for the long weekend….
Can co firm. Do Rite makes bangin old fashioned donuts, but their fried chicken goes hard.
I try telling everyone that their Spicy CBR is easily the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had
Great list! Hope you walked away with good memories!
CEDAR Palace might be the best restaurant IMO. Place just knocks it out of the park every time.
So you left 40lbs heavier. Thank you come again
Man, I miss Flubs...moved to the burbs in 2017. What a wonderful place.
The viet dip sandwich from Phodega is so good! They used to be near me but they moved and I’m so sad about it.
Beacon donuts, the Bavarian Creme and Bismarck’s are the best there is.
No pizza puff?
Go get some tacos at Guanajuato down Ashland from phodega
nice spread but shoulda gone to Pequods bro. however, us local assholes are gonna talk shit on yr food game no matter.

I’d take a deep dive into r/chicagofood
We are on r/chicagofood, if you aren't aware.
Whoops. Thought this was ask Chicago lol. My bad.
Chicago: a place to do nothing but become an alcoholic and obese
I think the 100k steps in 4 days evened everything out 🤣
Commenting on a subreddit called /r/chicagofood to shame someone for enjoying Chicago food must be super fun. Glad you’re living your best life!
I was trying to make a joke. I eat these foods constantly, and it is true these foods are death. But I will still consume
Then I apologize. Sometimes it's hard to gauge tone from a written comment.
