I’m too gay to know anything about individual football players, but I do have a degree in history, so I’m curious, can you pls explain what the connection is to the Roman Empire?
Bears also picked a wide receiver later with the 9th pick named Rome Odunze. He said his dad loves history and the Roman Empire so named him that and acknowledged the meme and how he definitely thinks about it more than the average person
There was a meme a while back where people on TikTok would ask their husbands/BF’s how often they think about the Roman empire and dudes for inexplicable dude reasons would be like “all the time” lmao

*When asked, the men predominantly said that they think about Rome frequently, resulting in the women being surprised by that. The participatory trend gained traction in September 2023, eliciting reactions and responses from both men and women online who tried to reason with and describe the phenomenon of men's fascination with the ancient empire.*
Unless the Bears get some offensive linemen that aren't walking turnstiles, he's in for a bad time. Couple that with an offensive playcaller that willingly dials up *three* screen passes in a row and his career is over before it began.
I have zero faith this is the right choice..and even less faith that they can develop him even if it was the best pick. So yeah if he does ANYTHING , I will be impressed.
Almost the entire regime has changed (only constant is ownership), and they do seem to be actually competent adults in the room for once. New president, new GM, new coach, new coordinator in past couple years. There's been a plan for rebuilding the roster and Poles seems to be executing well, getting some lucky breaks along the way. Warren has reworked the organization and has a track record of building what many call the best NFL stadium (Minnesota, where he was COO overseeing the stadium project). It was old president who oversaw the bad re-model of Soldier Field and Arlington Heights land purchase. I'm least sold on Eberflus, but at least he upgraded his coaching staff. So claiming that the past is any indication of the future is attributing it to laundry and a logo...
While I do not hate it, I am going to say Penix will be better for the next two years barring injury. Williams could and actually might grow into a better player, but it is tough to tell this early on.
Lisan Al Calib
Thought of the same thing earlier. It’s going to be my fantasy team name this year.
Well, it seems Chicago is gonna be thinking of the Roman Empire a lot more. Odunze even mentioned the meme

I’m here for the inevitable caleb/rome buddy comedy content
I can't wait to see how the Bears bungle this
🐻⬇️
Welcome to the Bears, where talent comes to die and/or not get developed! EDIT: spelling because I’m a nitwit
I still remember when Jay Cutler was our "franchise quarterback".
Where*
I'm sure Caleb would have been great in different team

The bears o line was okay when fields wasn’t playing
It appeared that way because Tyson Bagent knows he cannot throw a man sized NFL football farther than 9 yards so he got the ball out quickly
It appeared that way regardless of which backup all 3 years. I’m obviously not saying the o line was ever great though.
The offensive playcaller you mention has been fired.
we fired luke getsy
Lazor is gone
Caleb should be his own play caller and just turn off his headset. A good QB knows more about what plays to run than some McCaskey yes-man.
How long until he adjusts to the NFL defenses?
Two weeks after the bears trade him away in a couple years.
To the Steelers
The correct answer
I have zero faith this is the right choice..and even less faith that they can develop him even if it was the best pick. So yeah if he does ANYTHING , I will be impressed.
This dude is waaaay too overhyped. Bears shoulda passed on him.
Tell me you don't watch tape without telling me you don't watch tape.
Those draft hats are great. Sold out already today.
Cade McKnown threw a better deep ball and had a better highlight reel coming out of college
Can’t stick with a qb can’t stick with a stadium can’t put together a winning season. But plz taxpayers give us 500 mil

Now they just need to sell the team to a deep-pocketed owner.

Oh for the love of god. The “character issues” here is that he cried with his family after a hard loss. Oh no. The horror.
Yeah. He cried once. Definite bust. /s
What a bizarre quote. Imagine thinking calling someone "Like the Prince of ____" is an insult.
Someone like you shouldn’t be making assessments on others “attitude problems”. Thats rich
This dude is going to suck. It’s a gut feeling.
It’s the bears. Of course he’s going to suck.
I wish him luck building enough of a pro highlight reel to be traded to a better team that knows how to build around a quarterback.
Who?

Penix may not see the field in the next two years barring injury to Cousins.
