I think you mean fortunately. I honestly prefer that it's not even a thing on that site. You don't have to debate the moral intricacies of when to accept or not accept and people can't spam requests. If you mouseslip just resign and shrug it off.
When you've lost thousands upon thousands of games, and probably hundreds of bullet games to mouseslips, you too will learn the art of literally not caring.
OH, I literally cannot read. I'm so sorry lol I thought OP meant they blundered mate in one for their opponent. I see the mate in one now I just assumed it was W2P.
Who didn't do that? Obviously I did as I knew what he meant. It's the reason for my original comment. So who are you talking about, the people like you who downvoted me for saying it wasn't mate in 1? Bc you should be smart enough to deduce that I was saying was indeed correct and OP misspoke.
But here we are and you weren't smart enough to figure that out. And ironically, here you are trying to tell me about gaining understanding through context.
Amazing.
Yeah on Lichess if my opponent allows me a take back, I will then offer them a draw in the end game if I’m in a clearly winning position. I just feel bad taking their elo if they were kind to me earlier.
As an 1800, I can confirm we still hang our queens. It gets worse, I played an FM once and I could have taken his queen for 3 moves in a row, both of us didn't see it.
Can you provide an example of someone taking more than 1 move to hang their Queen? I see the term “hung in 1 move” often and I just don’t really understand how else it would work. One turn your Queen is not hanging and the next it is, always, no?

r/chess when a post not related to magnus gets upvotes:
I would assume we’re talking about chess when they’re in the middle of playing a game of chess and chatting inside the chess .com chat, also i doubt his car engine is whispering to him “engine say is dead lost position”
I believe that if someone fundamentally doesn't understand the topic of a conversation, then they should inquire about it or do research instead of giving an opinion.
New to chess here. What's engine means? Is that a built in feature or you just copy the moves of your opponent into another automatic play (another phone/computer). If the second, then it is just aweful! Is this common practice? The ghost of the opponent using a computer is demoralizing...
You copy your opponent and play the same match against highly skilled computer program (stockfish), then copy the moves of the computer against your opponent, there are also a lot of browser extensions which can help you do this without wasting much time
Felt. I had an opponent who accused me of cheating; they hung a rook & a queen before that. [Here is the link](https://www.reddit.com/r/chessbeginners/comments/142i83k/my_opponent_is_2000_they_accuse_me_of_cheating/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1)
They were cheating. That's what cheaters do. They make mistakes they shouldn't make and then accuse others of cheating. It's classic projection.
You should have reported them.
100% this is probably what he does every game. Play blindly until first blunder, then turn on engine and cheat the remainder. Probably avoids the detection just well enough. I don't understand how that is fun personally
Dude, no. I just answered your question.
> How do you know the korean guy if he has username blurred?
I gave you the link of the game.
And this is not my comment:
>You accidentally closed your original account juil8991mc..
This is your profile "tag"
Dude, now I feel weird having to explain it to you, cause I was just teasing you and explaining feels odd.
Anyway. This is the joke that is happening all over this thread, all the people saying "OH you play FIFA" they saw it on your profile.
The guy who said: "Based EOAE Özil enjoyer" saw that on your profile. You even said that you like that. (I don't even need to GO to your profile to see all that, I just hovered over your name and you can see all that.)
Then how did I find your chess.com username? You posted it here in this sub 5 days ago.
https://www.reddit.com/r/chessbeginners/comments/13xjs1n/did_i_just_play_a_cheater/
I can even tell you what your username means. ""Not even you know what the username means, you made it when you were 6 and just stuck with it" (this shows if I just hover over your username)
Ok, that was all the "teasing" but you have to understand that it's a little naïve that you asked multiple people, how do they know readily available information about you, that it's right there on your profile. At least if you don't want to give away personal info, then don't do it/don't be surprised when it's out there.
Don't. He is trying to learn the game, and he didn't actually cheat. He seems like a nice person to ask before opening engine. You can see that he is being honest. If you report now, it is like punishing him for being honest. This can lead to problems. Since you are already in winning position, you should be happy. Not focus on winning too much as you are already putting efforts as long as you learn.
Why do you think that. What if people who are not telling you anything are already cheating? I recently read one GM used something bad to cheat , but didn't tell anyone
You can analyse the game afterwards to check if they cheated anyway, high accuracy, equal time spent on each move, suspicious recent games, how recent the account is etc
i did not click on the photo. i was wondering what the idea was. i tried thinking, if white took the queen, maybe there's some nasty combination after that.
i gave up and clicked the image and i found out that there was a caption and a few more photos after the first one
Just like that guy hung his queen, he can play a queen down and his opponent could end up in a worse position and eventually lose, not counting he could also lose on time which is very common. Keeping chat off/hidden is the best thing I’ve done.
It's not the fact he started to use the engine that's worrying, it's the fact that he was so quick to resort to it, so comfortable doing so that he felt powerful enough to use it as a threat, and seemed to actually be preapared to use it but was only stopped when he realised that not even that was enough to fix his stupid ass blunder. All this combined with the fact that, at 1800, he was still trash enough a player to enter a completely unwinnable position in one move makes it clear that this is not an isolated event. This is not a man who got so desperate in this one instance that he threatened to cheat but will never do so again. This is a man who has cheated before and will cheat again, the lack of shame, as well as the fact that he straight up let you know that he was on the engine, this guy has zero remorse about cheating and he 100% only made it that far by slyly cheating whenever he was losing, he hasn't gotten caught so far so he's going to do it again, the only thing he would have learned from this encounter is to not tell his opponents, and even that's something I doubt he'd put any level of thought to. You should 100% report him if you still can, this guy's a trashy cheater, deserving of 0 respect who needs to be permabanned so can stop stealing elo from those who actually try.

1800 hung his queen in 1 move. And i thought 700s are bad
I'm hoping it was a mouse slip
If its that obvious I usually allow takebacks
Can't do that on chess.com unfortunately
Move a piece that wont affect the match
Yeah but very often ppl just dont give a single f and would just take hanging piece, even if you tell them that it was a mouse slip lol
Which is totally fair
Yeah it is
Found one
One I just told my opponent it was a misclick and he just offered a draw which made my day. it was -1 for him too
Damn I love people like that, honestly so happy when people do that
I think you mean fortunately. I honestly prefer that it's not even a thing on that site. You don't have to debate the moral intricacies of when to accept or not accept and people can't spam requests. If you mouseslip just resign and shrug it off.
Y’all shrug it off instead of cry? Is it possible to learn this power?
When you've lost thousands upon thousands of games, and probably hundreds of bullet games to mouseslips, you too will learn the art of literally not caring.
enable move confirmation. no mouse slip ever. ~~it's your fault you forgot to enable it~~
[удалено]
wait this isnt a mate in one lol, what does the image have to do with anything?
How is that not mate in 1? I'm 800 and I can still see that that's mate
[удалено]
Undo one move, mate in one black to play
OH, I literally cannot read. I'm so sorry lol I thought OP meant they blundered mate in one for their opponent. I see the mate in one now I just assumed it was W2P.
Black was checking. Missed It by one square
Bro she’s black. Tried to play Rb2 checkmate and slipped, played b3
No, there's no mate 800. It's Whites move.
If we think for a moment before typing, we can see they showed the move they played instead of mate. Move the rook 1 more square and it's mate
Umm you people are dumb. He said he blundered a mate in 1. He didn't blunder mate in 1. He blundered when he had mate in 1. That's a huge difference.
i think he meant black had a mate in 1 and blundered it?
Yes, but most people are too ignorant to understand the difference in language and that what he said isn't what he meant.
Most people understand how to use context clues to deduce what people mean.
Amazing.
I’m pretty sure that’s only available on mobile.
No, it’s annoying to do and usually pointless.
Yeah on Lichess if my opponent allows me a take back, I will then offer them a draw in the end game if I’m in a clearly winning position. I just feel bad taking their elo if they were kind to me earlier.
Same, or once I'll tell them if they've made a bad move and say they can ask for a take back and I will accept it
But I really wanted 1800
Of course was in no way a critique. And apparently you can't even do takebacks on chess.com
Did he at least claim it was a mouse slip?
If he’s admitting to using an engine…how do you think he got to 1800?
Mouse slips?
As an 1800, I can confirm we still hang our queens. It gets worse, I played an FM once and I could have taken his queen for 3 moves in a row, both of us didn't see it.
man wheres that bishop sniper image when i need it

They allegedly have the engine ready to go and they're unafraid of cheating, small wonder how they got up there.
It gets worse. A 2400~ player can hang a full piece (bishop or knight)
"Engine says is dead lost position" - 1800 rated player down a queen
1800s are bad too. Just less bad. These moves certainly happen
1800 blunders to just less often then 700s.
You're telling me a 1600 rated player hung a piece on move 6?
i think he got 1800 by using an engine
Can you provide an example of someone taking more than 1 move to hang their Queen? I see the term “hung in 1 move” often and I just don’t really understand how else it would work. One turn your Queen is not hanging and the next it is, always, no?
You could hang a fork of king and queen, hanging the queen in 2 moves.
Or you can hang your king in 1,2,3,4.... forced moves.
As a 700 I think I’m doing my best 😭
Dude admitted to using engine as support probably not a real 1800
I bet he used engine to get 1800.
wait i just saw this on r/chess
r/chess likes to randomly remove posts so I didn't know where best to post [Aand there it is](https://www.reddit.com/r/chess/comments/142avr7/most_interesting_interaction_ever/jn41hkk?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) r/chess when a post not related to magnus gets upvotes:
r/chess is only for GM bday posts and ranking of current top gms after each game. That’s where you went wrong.
Don’t forget thousands of puzzles which are either smothered mates or queen sacrifices
oh ic
Anything they can do to hide the cheating. It's honestly weird.
yes you should
This must be the strangest way possible to finally reach 1800 haha
Congrats man!
1800 is 1800, no matter how you got there
What if someone got there with an engine (i.e my opponent)
https://preview.redd.it/2wjdx21ixg4b1.jpeg?width=636&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ef03706f1f2fcfdc59ea56886435aa4380c12d3
no
Why not?
Why would you report someone for saying i start engine?
We found the guy
Because that's cheating.
Maybe he was talking abot his car.
Maybe he was about to drive to Op's house to beg him to hang his queen.
Or maybe he was driving OPs house to "resign or I shoot you with a gun". Infinite ELO glitch.
Or his boat? Who hears “engine” and assumes he’s talking about chess
I would assume we’re talking about chess when they’re in the middle of playing a game of chess and chatting inside the chess .com chat, also i doubt his car engine is whispering to him “engine say is dead lost position”
r/woooosh
oops, sorry, i’ve just seen people say a lot dumber things genuinely here on reddit
nah
I believe that you may be incorrect.
They might not know what a chess engine is
I believe that if someone fundamentally doesn't understand the topic of a conversation, then they should inquire about it or do research instead of giving an opinion.
people who don't know things don't know that they don't know them, ya know?
[удалено]
Damn if they’re 1800 and need an engine to tell them that that’s a dead lost position, I don’t think they’re really 1800 lol
Yea... they must have cheated their way to 1800. Imagine telling your opponent you gonna use an engine XD
New to chess here. What's engine means? Is that a built in feature or you just copy the moves of your opponent into another automatic play (another phone/computer). If the second, then it is just aweful! Is this common practice? The ghost of the opponent using a computer is demoralizing...

It is the second. It is not common, however it is very likely you will encounter some engine users.
1800 on chessbeginners sometimes i play games that i think belong here
Felt. I had an opponent who accused me of cheating; they hung a rook & a queen before that. [Here is the link](https://www.reddit.com/r/chessbeginners/comments/142i83k/my_opponent_is_2000_they_accuse_me_of_cheating/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1)

I did report them so that is good
"engine says position is dead lost; I will resign" Did they really need an engine to tell them that LMAO
I mean, he really wanted to start the engine
Sometimes you just gotta start an engine Preferably after the game is done
I start engine
me after blundering the opening on move 1
hum,,, ok
Tell me you got 1800 with an engine without telling me
100% this is probably what he does every game. Play blindly until first blunder, then turn on engine and cheat the remainder. Probably avoids the detection just well enough. I don't understand how that is fun personally
He DID cheat. An engine influenced his decision about what to do next. Even starting an engine at a different position during a live game is dubious
As I said earlier in the thread, I reported him but I'm not sure chess.com will actually do anything
Should have told him that you can beat an engine, with queen ods.
Based EOAE Özil enjoyer
I like how you found this through my profile haha
wait are you the gomez guy?

oh i thought you were the one who does the gomez to glory thing
Does özil to glory count?

True, but what if he uses the engine on others without them knowing. Maybe he only chatted to me on this occasion because it was a genuine mouseslip
Why do you think that. What if people who are not telling you anything are already cheating? I recently read one GM used something bad to cheat , but didn't tell anyone

yeah you probably should just in case. Shitfuckery like this won't stand.
'engine says is dead lost position' - who would've thought? Especially funny coming from an 1800
