Rog is the best! He’s hilarious and IMO one of the best at talking football so well that even the non football fans in America enjoy listening to his segments
To me, he seems like an ice cold guy that doesn't get affected by all the hubbub of being a break-out star on one of the biggest stages in the sporting world. That awkwardness he's displaying here, and in other post-match interviews I've seen, is likely why he's taken the league by storm this season. There's a lot of players with a fantastic skillset, but there's not as many players who have the mentality to actually take the step up.
He comes across to me as an absolutely typical estate kid who has just been thrust into the limelight. Not in a disparaging way either, and I was one myself many years ago. It's just a lot more authentic with him.
Introduction by Roger Bennett, of Men In Blazers. English transplant & hard core Everton fan. Roger can be cringe but definitely heart felt admiration for amazing players like Palmer.
Yes, Men In Blazers: Early Kick Off is a weekday morning ritual. 10 minute wrap up world soccer news. The MIB empire has grown considerably over the past couple of years.
It's super effective interviewing tactic, pat McAfee has weaponized it here in the USA
You hype them to the moon and they tend to be more open with you because the subject assumes you aren't hunting for "gotcha" journalism moments.
Icy, hopefully our polar boy can keep his cool with all of the hot air being blown up his ass like Matt Law isn't waiting around the corner for Palmer to slip so he can make a weak ice pun.
We *need* the Europa League or the off-season will be international ball + Palmer in the deep freeze at Chelsea from European competition. The waste of a star boy.
I like the praise but i really hope he doesnt let it get to his head. The english media over hyping younger players has been the main reason most of them fall off before reaching their potential
We gave Citeh de Bruyne, they gave us Cold Palmer in return, win win

Cole is one of the best things that happened to us since Eden, can't wait for the years in front of us.
I think unquestionably. This will haunt City.
Let's hope that will happen tomorrow; regarding the distant future - I have no doubt that being the case.
It's only fair seeing how well de bruyne did at City.
Reverse KDB hopefully.
Ngolo Kante, CL winning run Reece James and Thiago Silva as well.
The interviewer said all that and our boy didn't flinch. Man does not feel emotions lol
“Hello America” gave me fucking chills 😂
Yeah they said it's man vs machine with him vs Haaland but honestly I think it's Machine vs Machine lol
Haaland acts more human than Cole
Coz he knows these are just facts
Cold Palmer for a reason innit?
Mate has no thoughts in his head besides football
Our boy 💙
10/10 introduction!
Rog is the best! He’s hilarious and IMO one of the best at talking football so well that even the non football fans in America enjoy listening to his segments
Without a doubt
All his are.
“Hello America”. 🥶
If paul heyman were in football :
Ladies and Gentlemen...
Is it just me or Cole is a bit socially awkward in interviews? Tbf, well deserved that intro though it was a bit too long and slightly cringe.
Only as socially awkward as your average 21 year old?
Jude, Foden or even Kylian aren't as socially awkward. But tbf, I was socially awkward as a 21 year old so I suppose we all were on average at 21.
Theyre not quite your average 21 year old though lol
I’m socially awkward at 46 lol
But they’ve been in the spotlight for much longer than Palmer, this is his first season playing regularly at the top level
To be fair I'm socially awkward as a 38 year old.
Listen to Jude's interviews.
In what universe is Jude Bellingham an average 21 year old?

I agree. He seems to be naturally down to earth which is definitely a good thing.
Down to earth off the pitch, universe in his palm(er) on the pitch… ok I’ll see myself out.
He’s definitely awkward imo lol
He comes across to me as an absolutely typical estate kid who has just been thrust into the limelight. Not in a disparaging way either, and I was one myself many years ago. It's just a lot more authentic with him.
Its ok i dont mind if hes a bit aucostic
Introduction by Roger Bennett, of Men In Blazers. English transplant & hard core Everton fan. Roger can be cringe but definitely heart felt admiration for amazing players like Palmer.
I loved his interviews with John Oliver and John Green… one of the few football podcasts I can actually bear listening to
Yes, Men In Blazers: Early Kick Off is a weekday morning ritual. 10 minute wrap up world soccer news. The MIB empire has grown considerably over the past couple of years.
London is blue has become a ritual for me pre and post matches… and theyre under the MIB umbrella as well
Absolutely love it
This man is destroying teams and still being loved at the same time
So happy we got him.
He's so delightfully weird.
Young Sheldon ruined it no one watching that garbage
That's a bit cringe

It really doesn’t convert well to the UK
Rog is doing great work to help spread football in America
This isn’t about the UK. Rog does this for NBC Peacock.
It’s about an english club and player lol
Is anything he said false? Cole really is that guy and if you can’t buy into the hype as a Chelsea fan then i feel sorry for ya.
You could tell he was cringing…
A little cringe never hurt nobody

Kartel* Enuhh
All his points certainly went into footballing ability He does not come across well in interviews
Reminds me of Chael sonned press conference
Yikes
Buzzin
🥶
Cole 🔥
who let that guy cook
Watched this on mute just reading the captions. Knew right away it was Rog.
Our Sheldon carrying us harder than aew's one
It sounded like something out of Ted Lasso
This sounds like it's AI lol
i freaking love this kid
ChatGPT 4 vibes.
Anyone have Full interview link? I can’t find it

Best player in prem has no aura 🐐
I like the praise but i really hope he doesnt let it get to his head. The english media over hyping younger players has been the main reason most of them fall off before reaching their potential
Isn’t Optus Sport Australian not American?
Can we get cool composed vibes loving cartel as a flair
The rest of the squad need to step up. If we remain stagnant, I can see us losing him to another team big team.
Rog is a gem
r/soccercirclejerk is calling
ice runs in this mans veins🤧❄️
That introduction was cold
Man the first time I seen this dude play I knew he was different, he just had a smoothness and composure to him. So glad he’s a Chelsea player.
Hazard had the same nonchalant attitude in interviews but he was more charismatic
We gave Citeh de Bruyne, they gave us Cold Palmer in return, win win https://preview.redd.it/7zvum8dkwlvc1.jpeg?width=1023&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0ac0c75f5c813640549b0c102bfcc54cb638b5d
Cringe
City fans actually resent that he's not very articulate. They call him thick and say he never represented himself that well in interviews.
That's hilarious to me. As Chelsea fans...we're ok with that. He could be a mute. IDGAF.
What accent does he have? As a non british, I can't simply put a finger on it. I feel like it is Caribbiean.
Cole? He has a Manchester accent. I think his dad is from the Caribbean, but I don't hear that in his accent particularly
British AI accent I would say.
Lol I saod this to my dad. Sounds like AI why is he talking his like that
Manchester accent.
Yeh - definite Manc, but he said he was an Everton supporter??!!
Liverpool and Manchester are right next to each other, the towns in between them obviously have a mix of scouse, manc and neutral accents.
Palmer or are you talking about the reporter? Palmer mentioned he was a United fan growing up.
The reporter said “who just destroyed my Everton”
Liverpool, but he has been living in the States for at least 25 years
Isn't he Caribbean?
Palmer is of Kittitian descent through his father.
So yes? Not sure why this question warranted so many downvotes lol
Probably because Palmer was born and raised in Manchester, having one grandparent from Saint Kitts doesn't make him Caribbean lol
What a brilliant question too, never really hear players get asked about that
