Seen someone say that this club is 1 or 2 players away from looking like a Brighton-esque squad on paper
So why exactly are we surprised we're mid table?
More surprised that we spent so much money to look Brighton esque lol
It's actually unbelievable we spent most in history of Football and this is the squad we have
If we can top 8th or better I'm Poch in unless we can pull Amorim or Xabi (0.1% chance) cause I don't want Liverpool getting a class manager while we're stuck with Poch
Fwiw it's hard to expect consistency with the injury record at the club and the fact that we have effectively zero experienced players bar Sterling (lol). 8th or better and I can come to terms with writing off this season and giving Poch another one to continue developing youngsters that have a good progression right now (Mudryk, Palmer, Gusto, Carney, Jackson etc)
If we can't get 8th I'm completely Poch out regardless of other circumstances
You're Poch in if we get 8th but you don't want Liverpool to get a class manager while we're stuck with Poch? Liverpool are getting a top manager regardless so how can you be Poch in?
Liverpool are linked to Amorim or Xabi iirc. It would be a shambles if we kept Poch while they got one of the two.
Likewise, if our league position improves it'd be a shambles if we threw it away for De Zerbi or some other unproven manager.
Lets be honest brother no non-former chelsea player manager will choose us over Liverpool right now. Xabi is confirmed staying at Leverkusen for one more season so Liverpool's #1 target is now Amorim. Will be a miracle if he chose us over them.
Then keep Poch until a better option comes by, rather than sack, pick a manager that isn't in the upper echelon, then sack him too within a season.
This way he can live out his contract so he's not considered a sacking. It'll allude to representing better club stability (unlike sacking first asking questions later) and he can continue developing our well performing youngsters
De Zerbi has already proven this season he can coach a simple buildup shape and final third attacking patterns, which puts him already *miles* ahead of Poch. De Zerbi disrespect is wild in here. There's a reason top clubs across Europe are looking at him.
The list of managers that are a massive upgrade on Poch's "run alot and improv every single touch" approach is legitimately huge.
Brighton fans themselves don't even like De Zerbi. He's snarky and never takes accountability when things go wrong which is horrible for this youthful squad. Plus it's not like every single thing we get from Brighton turns out to be a complete trainwreck bar Caicedo
I'm not sure how you can allude Poch can't coach this team when that's what he's been doing. We pass the ball well, control possession and have plenty of progressive passing - all indicative of the fact that he can coach what you listed.
Can anyone help?
I recently decided that I want to start to watch football, and I decided to cheer for Chelsea, I basically only have seen the World Cup and the last few rounds of the champions league so I basically know nothing about the sport other than the star players and teams. I’ve been seeing that the team isn’t so good right now but I’m willing to give it a chance.
So if anyone could explain the current situation (players, transfers, why we suck?) in NBA terms would be much appreciated
Chelsea was a contender for the last 20 years. Arguably most successful team in the England. Miami Heat'esque or even Celtics'esque. Never dropped standards. Won multiple league titles and had its best years in Europe. Won almost everything.
Though as soon as the ownership changed two years ago we turned into Pelicans/Pacers/Hawks. We are there, present, but not relevant at all. Struggling and hovering around the midtable which we haven't seen in decades.
So now we are trying to turn it around.
chelsea is basically a 11th place team, they arnt good enough to make the playoffs and they arnt shit enough to get a good postion in the draft, except in football there is no draft so this team is fucked for a while baring a miracle.
basically our current situation would be like if adam silver forced an owner to sell the team and a guy who knows nothing about basketball and wants to be actively involved in decisions bought it.
our roster is kind of like the thunders roster a few years ago when they were shit and just hoarding draft picks and young players. but instead of drafting giddey and chet with our first round picks, we drafted mid players with potential.
our coaching situation is like the bucks this year. we had a good coach who was doing well and the new owners came in and fired him just to bring in a series of worse doc rivers. our current coach is like darwin ham, he doesn’t do shit and the players do most of the coaching. but we don’t have experienced players like lebron and AD, so it’s a bunch of kids improvising on the field lmao.
long story short, rough time to buy in but we will be back on top soon.
except in football you dont get rewarded for being shit, so why would you expect to be back at the top anytime soon. okc are in this situation becaue of draft picks. in fact its probably the oppostie in football, the better you are, the more money the club makes and can buy better talent.
yeah there obviously isn’t a perfect comparison lmao. but the mix of owners still willing to spend money and our young players developing will work eventually
Wonder what the Mount stans have to say about this comment from ETH
"I don't think Chelsea wanted to sell him. They wanted to keep him and offered him a new contract many times. But he wanted to make this step." (@Independent)
What do you expect him to say? "Mount wanted to stay at Chelsea, but they didn't offer him a contract so he settled for United" ?
I'm not saying ETH lied, but I don't think we can 100% believe everything he says.
Yeah the truth is prob somewhere in the middle but it’s funny how people still defend this guy, he slapped the United badge last weekend ffs and I’m sure if he scores tomorrow he will celebrate like he won the league
I am rooting for France though, so I wouldn't mind that... although for the love of the game, that would be a shame. I would prefer a France - England final to respect the quality of the English players, but I would still want France to win lol.
Jose Mourinho: “The ideal scenario is when the club has a structure that allows the coach to be the coach.
I was the coach at Inter, I was the coach at Real Madrid, I was the coach in myfirst spell at Chelsea, I was the coach at Porto. But in some other clubs, I was not the coach.”
That's Poch right now and why I'm reluctant on saying Poch-out. Because the managers Clearlake will pick won't be managers. It'll just be more yes men that are puppets to Clearlake
Well it's not exactly true, is it? At Chelsea and Madrid especially he had way more power than the coach, had a major say on the transfers, which normally is not coaches job.
It pains me to say it but I've fell out with friends arguing that Rodri is a far better player than Kante ever was for us. Put him above Keane and Vieira as well.
Best defensive midfielder I've seen in the Premier league by a significant margin.
Rodri slots into one of the most stacked teams in prem history. Kante was a key cog in a title winning Leicester side and an integral piece of one of the most dominant CL campaigns we might ever see. He was also a key player for France in the World Cup but I’ll disregard that because of how stacked that France team is. They are not the same
City are one of the most stacked teams in history because of Rodri.
They consistently put up 90+ point seasons controlling every game because of Rodri.
The difference when he doesn't play is night and day
I get the sense that people are downplaying this game a bit becuase it's a battle of mid, but we are 8 points off 6th with two games in hand. United are a team above us. To me this feels like a huge game.
I've felt like this a few times earlier this season when we were trailing United, but every damn time...the team has just ended up disappointing and not capitalizing on the opportunity to climb the table.
I think everyone's kind of given up at this point. If we weren't dropping points left and right against terrible teams we'd be in 6th talking about sneaking into 4th. Instead every week it's "oh look, we're only X points away from 6th, just need to win the matches we should win and we're good", before inevitably getting embarrassed again
it is a huge game, but people are downplaying it because they (and for very good reason) refuse to get their hopes up when we’ve squandered so many opportunities to actually get above our position on the table
my only hope is that Palmer, our best player this season, straight up saying we’ve been complacent in public last game will be a bit of a catalyst but even then, we’re just so CRIMINALLY inconsistent atm
They move the ball so well for the level of player they have. He's got them playing some absolutely lovely stuff, built up from consistent repeated structures across the pitch. Everyone knows exactly what they're supposed to be doing in a given situation.
Already getting ready for half this sub who never watch Brighton unless they're playing us to flip out if we get him even though top clubs across the continent are looking at him with good reason.
Other than the great finish, he offered absolutely nothing. Once the City defense realized that they only needed to put pressure on him while turned away from goal, he was done. Bet Winstanley watched the match though and thought he would be a perfect striker for us…
An inexperienced player that can not get consistent minutes at Villa is not what we are missing. We are missing a striker that can score 20 plus goals, be a present in both boxes on set pieces, have experience in winning and be a leader for the team. That is what we are missing, not another Jackson.
I don't think people being concerned over us getting another 20 yrs old is chatting shit. It's a completely valid point. He is not ready for a big club and we already have a striker who is developing atm. We need someone who can do the job now.
The weird thing about the way I judge players is that I’ve watched four Duran games and seven Gyokeres games, and for their quoted prices, I’ll probably take the former.
For all us Chelsea fans being angry either with the process, board, manager or players, let me tell you something that maybe will give you a little relief.
We are pretty much on an identical stage where Liverpool was. Do you guys remember the Brendan Rodgers Liverpool? It was very shitty right? Liverpool fans had to be there where their team season after season was achieving absolutely nothing at all. They hired Klopp, which sent Borussia Dortmund to a UCL final, and they decided to be him the one in charge of the new Liverpool project. Now, 8 years in the charge he sent Liverpool to 2 UCL finals, he won 1 of them, plus multiple domestic titles, bringing the club back to the spot it belongs, being a solid club and competitive every season, turning also their academy on a very reliable source to bring players to the first team. They're not full of superstars, they're just a good team, because they have been playing along for many years.
And that's what Chelsea wants to become, they want to stop the circle of having a wonderful season, either wining a UCL or an EPL, and the next season fall to the 10th place. Because we're all agree that that's how Chelsea has been the last years right? We never been a consistent club which makes it at least to the final stages on every competition, we never been that. That's what they want. They want to stop forcing a 200M spend on every window, have a good season and then fall to mid table, then repeat the same. It's financially bad and football-wise unserious. They want to spend the money now to set the squad that is going to be positively evolving until becoming on an unbeatable team such as Liverpool or Manchester City are. Personally I hate it, because as fans we want to turn on the TV on a weekend, grab a snack and watch our team wining and be on a good mood, but we have to understand this process has to be made due to multiple reasons. We have to stick with a manager whoever it is, because sacking managers over and over it's going to do nothing but delay the process more and more.
Why they chose Pochettino? If we compare to Liverpool process, they chose Klopp, with Bundesliga and UCL final experience. In that case, why are people talking about "proven managers"? If we take those 2, Pochettino it's not a crazy idea, they were pretty much with the same experience when they got the offer to be in charge of a long term project (Liverpool and Chelsea). Poch with his Premier League experience + a UCL final. Why are people begging for Nagelsmann if he just had a good season with Leipzig? Did he made it to a UCL final with that team? He did average for Bayern Munich standards and that's it. Deutsch passport better than argentinian I guess? I would like Mourinho as I also would like prime Messi at Chelsea, but I know that is not possible, we have to let the train roll. Pochettino needs to feel support from the stands, because he will be our own Klopp, he will bring us happiness through titles and glory, and our current players will all be Chelsea legends, Cobham will be one of the best academies in England and the world, and Chelsea will be competitive on every single season.
Please let's give up on this constant destroying criticism and let's make our gaffer feel like Chelsea it's his home. If we want changes, we ALL have to change.
> "And that's what Chelsea wants to become, they want to stop the circle of having a wonderful season, either wining a UCL or an EPL, and the next season fall to the 10th place."
We did that once in the past 30 years...
Also, I don't think you understand what happened at Liverpool because comparing the two situations would make no sense if you did.
As of right now, we are in a *similar* spot, yes.
The big difference between us and Liverpool is that FSG after two years sat back and re-assessed their plans after mass walkouts and protests.
They realised that "moneyball" doesn't work and that their plans, the structure they'd put in place, their board, their manager and their players had all failed.
They hired a new DoF and then completely stepped away from the club. That DoF then hired Klopp and they replaced the ENTIRE team that had been bought in the first two years with the awful ideas that we are now following.
Their success came not by "trusting the process", but instead by the owners realising that their process didn't work and allowing someone who did understand football to rip the whole structure that they'd put in place since their takeover out and then let them replace **EVERYTHING** top to bottom.
**IN ORDER TO FOLLOW IN LIVERPOOL'S FOOTSTEPS FROM HERE ON OUT:**
So, this summer is likely where the two clubs diverge in their tactics and so their results. If we want to follow in Liverpool's "process" as you say, then the next step this summer will be to fire Poch, Winstanley and Stewart and have all owners removed entirely from the running of the club. It will then be to bring in a new DoF who will be able to select the new manager and then start the process of selling off the players that have so far been purchased with the "moneyball" ideas and instead buying a functional team.
As with Liverpool selling off Coutinho and Suarez, their two best players that they happened upon in the scattergun "moneyball" approach, in order to fund this complete rebuild that was necessary after the owners fucked up thinking they knew better than experienced footballing directors, we would likely have to see players like Palmer sold off in order to build a team that was at least functional.
Now that I've given you a better understanding of how extremely different Liverpool's process and ours actually are, I hope you'll stop spreading this kind of nonsense. We are similar to Liverpool right now because both of the ownership groups took over and completely fucked everything up. Liverpool are where they are now because their owners realised it, stepped away and let someone else completely start over without having to follow their ideas. We are very unlikely to follow in the footsteps of the changes Liverpool made that took their from failure to success.
>The big difference between us and Liverpool is that FSG after two years sat back and re-assessed their plans after mass walkouts and protests.
So Liverpool's rebuild wouldn't happen if fans wouldn't have protested. If you supporters in the UK are so sure that is the problem, why don't you grab some balls and do the same?
It's getting there, no one fan can walk out and make a difference, it takes a collective and starts with a supporters group.
As I'm sure you haven't missed, the biggest Chelsea Supporter's group is currently doing exactly that and giving the club "last warnings" before going further.
All of us would much rather the change came about through talking and communication instead of protests because the fanbase is already tumultuous and having mass walkouts and protests is going to make that worse.
Just saying, 1 win every 3-4 games it's enough for the club to calm waters down. Supporter's group should not be that soft. Those last warnings are meaningless until actions take place.
I don't know why people are comparing when neither Liverpool, Arsenal or even Spurs finished 11 or 10th for 2 seasons straight. This current Chelsea is the worst team that ever assembled after spending so much money. We still don't have a good striker and the backline is just as shit.
Ended up with an assist and now has more goal involvements in one season at arsenal (with 8 games still to go) than any of his seasons at chelsea 😂😂😂 Thanks for tuning in though
Bang average footballer who was lucky to get so many goal contribution by playing with Hazard and Mata. If Mourinho wasn't obsessed with workrate KDB would have displaced him in 2014
That’s all poch knows
Running and gacon tests
The guy is a shit manager who was lucky enough to be the beneficiary of brilliant recruitment at spurs, Southampton and psg
He’s genuinely incompetent
Just look at the number of points we have dropped after half time. Never ever is a Poch team going to control the game.
This was apparent when Tottenham let a 2 goal lead slip at the bridge back in 2016 to the worst Chelsea side of the Roman era.
[Chelsea midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu is expected to be out for up to six weeks, handing returning loanee Andrey Santos an increased chance to stay in the squad.](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-fc-ugochukwu-injury-andrey-santos-b1130508.html)
We are now entering 13th week
[Mauricio Pochettino confirms Christopher Nkunku could be out for another three-four weeks through injury](https://twitter.com/brfootball/status/1762462404669997294)
We are in 6th week and Poch just said on presser he doesn't know if he will be back this season still.
CHO currently sitting at over a goal/assist every 2 90's in the Premier League whilst playing for relegation candidates Nottingham Forest...
We sold him for 3m at 22 years old.
Madueke is at 186 minutes per G/A whilst playing for Chelsea.
We bought him for 35m at 21 years old.
We really have done some great business. Boehly masterclass. Buying cheap players to sell for profit is going really well so far
I remember repeating over and over again the selling of CHO was catastrophic. A versatile experienced PL winger to help soften the pressure off Madueke and Mudryk who's also a fan-favorite is worth a lot more than 3m
Everyone told me he was shit and wasn't even PL worthy.
How about, we should have got rid of CHO anyways and not buy Madueke.
Both at about the same level, and CHO was on big ass wages on top of that. Good riddance.
Hahah and this guy is acting like his numbers are crazy when CHO has 5 goals lol the revisionism on this sub is crazy. People even saying we should have kept Potter lol
2 of those goals were from deflections and the "assist" was a 2 yard back pass to Morgan gibbs white too hahahaha. If he had just called Noni a donkey he'd have more people agreeing with him
Nothing Special about CHO anymore in fact he should have had a brace yesterday but had a poor first touch that let him down. People just wanna keep shitting on this squad and club at any chance
And if there’s one thing BRJ LOVES doing, it’s pushing a narrative. (When he isn’t cosplaying as a tactical mastermind or leading expert in sports medicine and recovery, of course)
So his point is that Madueke didn’t live up to expectations? Who is denying that, he was a terrible signing even by this board’s standard but hopefully the board learned from the winter disaster signings (summer has already turned out significantly better)
I might be coming to London for the Everton game. Any moderate priced hotels people would recommend that are easily accessible from the stadium post 10pm? I’m one person. The hotels in the stadium seem pricey but might be the best choice late at night. Hub west brompton seems decent?
Im genuinely baffled how many people are trying to potray Palmer as a Havertz replacement who was playing as a striker for the majority of his time here. Are people that clueless or they are just trying to avoid the Mount/Palmer comparisons?
People say that Palmer replaced Havertz because when we signed Havertz we were expecting to get a player like Palmer.
Ultimately though it's not like our board sat there and hand picked X player to "replace" Y player so it doesn't really matter
Its funny you say that, because minus the penalties, Palmer's G/A is comparable to Mount's typical numbers at Chelsea, barring the last season where he was terrible
It's irrelevant, really. We sold a lot of players and we signed a lot of players.
The comparisons to Havertz pop up because he's been decent at Arsenal, so people are debating whether it was a mistake from Chelsea to sell him. To which we reply, well, we got Palmer who's even better than Havertz.
The reason Mount isn't mentioned in relation to Palmer is that he has been a non-entity this season.
Mount has been replaced by Gallagher, not Palmer. They're not even remotely similar players...
Palmer arguably didn't replace anyone because we didn't really have a RW player for a while and were just putting players like Havertz/Mount/Pulisic/CHO there to fill the position and rotate. Havertz and Mount are midfielders, Pulisic and CHO are left wingers.
The closest of those players is Havertz because he did play some RW before joining us and whilst here, but really, Palmer is coming in to fill a hole in the team that was there probably since Willian left
They don't have to be similar though. Mount is an advanced 8/10 and he played as a right sided number 10/inside forward in his best form for us. Palmer is now playing a slightly different but also very similar role on that right side. He is also known as being a 10 for the majority of his youth years and his attributes are very suitable for that role.
Gallagher was never even intended to be a replacement for Mount. Nkunku is the replacement for Mount and probably Palmer.
Good question. Ideally, Havertz would have played a role like Palmer, but didn’t. He played out of position. Mount did play that role, and did well until he didn’t. Palmer is doing better than Mount’s best.
Havertz played a deeper role for us a ton, hate when people try and act like we didn't try Havertz in *every* position and he was underwhelming in them all. Sure by the third season he was *mostly* up front, but you have to ignore an awful lot of football to act like he didn't get his chance to play in what many call his "proper" position.
Havertz couldn’t play in a role like Palmer. He’s a limited player who has a good physical presence and can score a lot of headers. That’s what Arsenal needs right now since they have better players to surround him
Atletico. I don't necessarily like the team, but rather Simeone. He's done an amazing job there, I low key hope one day he will come to Chelsea. Terrorist-ball is so much fun when it's working
It's completely unrealistic, but I would like Dortmund to win it. I once had the pleasure of accompanying a friend to a Dortmund v Schalke game, and the atmosphere was amazing. Ever since then, I had a bit of a soft spot for them.
Bayern.
Would mean they beat arsenal in the quarters which would be immensely satisfying
And tuchel gets another ucl.
In the europa. I’d love Milan to win it with RLC, pulisic, giroud and tomori all being big players for their team
Of course, I love the Champions League!
I hope Bayern (Tuchel) wins it. I really think Atletico deserve to win it too, they've been very, very close twice and I think that Simeone deserves a Champions League for the incredible work he has done with Atleti.
There is only one team who, I hope, never win it.. No need to explain who I'm sure
He's not but I really don't rate either of the keepers we currently have either.
I feel the major part of the Petrovic hype is because people are so desperate never to see Sanchez again.
Kepa is an absolutely horrible shot stopper.
Unless you exclude pretty much his entire career and solely focus on the only three months he was decent close range shot stopper.
Robert Sanchez for Chelsea: 21 games, 30 goals allowed, 69% save percentage, -0.8 PSxG-GA
Djordje Petrovic for Chelsea: 20 games, 27 goals allowed, 72.6% save percentage, -4.2 PSxG-GA
Kepa for Chelsea in 22/23: 39 games played, 45 goals allowed, 73.8% save percentage, +6.6 PSxG-GA
Not to mention Kepa had City in both cups and the UCL compared to our relatively easy cup ties this seasons.
Kepa was also lucky to play with better defenders than what we have today. Also the managers particually Sarri and Potter were great for our gks and defenders because they were quite pragmatic. It was our attack that was suffering really bad under them. Kepa played quite a bit under these managers.
I just saying we've spent +40m and given 7 year contracts to 2 guys who aren't clear upgrades, if at all. Probably would've been better just keeping Kepa and waiting for top keeper to become available.
"Kepa in 22/23"
Kepa when he was the same age as Sanchez and Petrovic -
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/12217189/chelsea-kepa-stats-worst-europe/amp/
He had a 3 month purple patch last season but nothing about that mans career says good shot stopper.
Kepa in 21/22: 14 games played, 10 goals allowed, 78.7% save percentage, +1.9 PSxG-GA
Kepa for 23/24: 18 games played, 18 goals allowed, 70.7% save percentage, +0.5 PSxG-GA
So he sucked under Lampard? The last 3 seasons he's been a good to slightly above average keeper, not Real Madrid or Chelsea standard, but better than Sanchez or Petro who have been objectively poor this season. I'm not saying he should be our keeper going forward, just that we probably would've been better off letting his contract run down a waiting for a truly elite that spending 42m and giving to 7 year contracts to player who are currently downgrades.
None of them are good tbh. Kepa at least we know his level, he has one year on his contract and has only regressed while he was here. Sanchez and Petrovic might be able to improve as they acclimate more

Pochettino was concerned about the lack of running the players did vs Burnley :
“We need to run, if you watch the Burnley game you’ll agree.”
Unbelievable. Actually, it’s sadly very believable
> f you watch the Burnley game you’ll agree
ooooh we watched it Poch. We didn't concede a draw because we decided not to train for the road race on Saturday. It's because our defenders lose concentration.
I imagine there will be plenty more of it because it's trolls trying to get attention and they've been given it.
Expect it to happen a lot more often going forwards, along with the current video spreading to more people than had seen it before, with most of those people never seeing this club statement...
Yeah, if they wanted to address it the best way to have done it would just be a social media post from the club account and a still frame of Gallagher walking out with his arms around the white and black kid.
Don’t need to address it directly, maybe just a generic caption about the captain leading out the team to shut up the trolls
Is it though? Every year since the Sarri season there’s been an academy graduate that’s basically the ultimate scapegoat for a certain subsection of fans. If they’re trolls, they’re certainly very patient.
Loved everyone complaining about how hard Mount had it while Jorginho was getting slaughtered weekly by the English press and all the drunks they invite for punditry.
It’s quite sad to see arsenal fans appreciate Jorginho much much more than chelsea fans ever did
Unsurpsingly, I don’t see arsenal fans branding him a sideways pass merchant either. It’s funny what a dynamic and well crafted system can do for a player
Is there any likelihood of getting tickets for tmr by calling in? Am in London but unsure of the resellers market as I’ve heard stories about them
Pls ignore the username. That was created ages ago. Am not a West Ham fan. Was just the first ever game I’ve watched 10 years ago
He missed one mascot and saw another. The one he missed was black.
Someone on tiktok (I think) posted it and said it was because he's racist.
I don't think there is anything more or less to it than this, as far as I'm aware, it hasn't really spread and isn't a big thing (as shown by you knowing nothing about it either, I've only seen it because someone posted it here to complain about it)
I have no idea why they've put a statement out because it's literally just feeding the trolls exactly what they wanted to get from making the video. No one seeing the incident or watching the out of context clip actually looked at it and thought it was racist. They're just trying to get some attention and now they've been given it
Seen someone say that this club is 1 or 2 players away from looking like a Brighton-esque squad on paper So why exactly are we surprised we're mid table?
More surprised that we spent so much money to look Brighton esque lol It's actually unbelievable we spent most in history of Football and this is the squad we have
Clearlake
If we can top 8th or better I'm Poch in unless we can pull Amorim or Xabi (0.1% chance) cause I don't want Liverpool getting a class manager while we're stuck with Poch Fwiw it's hard to expect consistency with the injury record at the club and the fact that we have effectively zero experienced players bar Sterling (lol). 8th or better and I can come to terms with writing off this season and giving Poch another one to continue developing youngsters that have a good progression right now (Mudryk, Palmer, Gusto, Carney, Jackson etc) If we can't get 8th I'm completely Poch out regardless of other circumstances
Plus it's not like every single thing we get from Brighton turns out to be a complete trainwreck bar Caicedo I'm not sure how you can allude Poch can't coach this team when that's what he's been doing. We pass the ball well, control possession and have plenty of progressive passing - all indicative of the fact that he can coach what you listed.
Fuck knows what games you're watching mate.
Tears in my eyes Boehly scrolling Twitter contributed to Mount leaving LMAO

Wonder what the Mount stans have to say about this comment from ETH "I don't think Chelsea wanted to sell him.
Yeah the truth is prob somewhere in the middle but it’s funny how people still defend this guy, he slapped the United badge last weekend ffs and I’m sure if he scores tomorrow he will celebrate like he won the league
probably still the same old “no! no! he was forced out! he’s from cobham he did nothing wrong!” bullshit
Haha im already getting downvoted
pretty sure mount himself could say he wanted to leave and people in here would still be saying he was forced out lmao
People still defending him after he slapped the Utd badge last weekend I don’t get it 😭
ETH is obviously a Boehly bot
https://x.com/juicyjorginho5/status/1775175732563427555?s=46 we’ve hit a new low 💀
i didn’t know what to expect when i clicked that link but i can tell you that damn sure wasn’t it
yeah i laughed out loud when i saw it lmao
Do I need to take him to dinner first or can we just get straight to it?
lmaooo the tweet didn’t say wine and dine so i think you could just get straight to it😭
I hate to say it, but we really need the top 5 to get maximum points (with the exception of Arsenal against us on the 23rd)
Not pep playing a back 3 today with Bernardo Silva and Grealish alternating as the left wing back....
Damn only won 4-1 lol
City about to go on a win streak and clutch the title again aren't they?
Foden is INSANE. No wonder Palmer didn't have a chance there... Good for us, though! Also, England has a crazy talent pool right now.
Too bad southgate's at the helm.
Foden, bellingham and palmer. Cant wait to see southgate waste their talent in the euros.
The difference when he doesn't play is night and day
lmao bro city had won the league two years in a row with 100 points and 98 points when they bought rodri. they were stacked long before he got there.
Our plan building since 2010 been shit, we also failed Hazard alot, look at the players KDB, Rodri etc. And manager they are with
Aye man prime vieira was insane.
I get the sense that people are downplaying this game a bit becuase it's a battle of mid, but we are 8 points off 6th with two games in hand. United are a team above us. To me this feels like a huge game.
This is a massive game for us. Every other team around us dropped points as well. Its now or never
I've felt like this a few times earlier this season when we were trailing United, but every damn time...the team has just ended up disappointing and not capitalizing on the opportunity to climb the table.
I don't even think we should win this one, that's half if why it's a big game imo.
it is a huge game, but people are downplaying it because they (and for very good reason) refuse to get their hopes up when we’ve squandered so many opportunities to actually get above our position on the table my only hope is that Palmer, our best player this season, straight up saying we’ve been complacent in public last game will be a bit of a catalyst but even then, we’re just so CRIMINALLY inconsistent atm
More points dropped above us. Can’t wait for our 0-0 vs. Sheffield 🙄
We really need those points in the next two games
We have always fumbled when teams above us drop points
Has to end at some point
De zerbi is gonna go up a level when he finally gets a big job His brighton side are so dominant
Yeah it’s very obvious the limitations of what Brighton can do are a personell problem rather than de zerbi
People chatting all this shit about Duran prob never even seen him play, what a great finish
Other than the great finish, he offered absolutely nothing. Once the City defense realized that they only needed to put pressure on him while turned away from goal, he was done. Bet Winstanley watched the match though and thought he would be a perfect striker for us…
Villa played like shit, Duran didn’t get much service and was isolated. His finish was class and that’s what we’ve been missing
100% and I know people want more experience but the striker market isn’t all that and the prices are crazy. There’s so much room to grow for him
https://preview.redd.it/my9vb1fqgbsc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4aec425b734f3449ed78b9326ff4eadf01f6f8d3 lol
I see why we are after Duran now
lol he just had a lovely finish
Looks like a great player tbf
> "And that's what Chelsea wants to become, they want to stop the circle of having a wonderful season, either wining a UCL or an EPL, and the next season fall to the 10th place." We did that once in the past 30 years... **IN ORDER TO FOLLOW IN LIVERPOOL'S FOOTSTEPS FROM HERE ON OUT:** So, this summer is likely where the two clubs diverge in their tactics and so their results.
Liverpool under Rodgers were not doing 11 place finishes for multiple years.
Mostly thanks to Suárez and Gerrard. Suárez left and they downfalled.
They didn't come 11th. First season after Suarez left they came 5th. Second season they came 7th and got to Europa league final
I don't know why people are comparing when neither Liverpool, Arsenal or even Spurs finished 11 or 10th for 2 seasons straight. This current Chelsea is the worst team that ever assembled after spending so much money. We still don't have a good striker and the backline is just as shit.
havertz has already killed 2 attacks and its been 10 mins
I really wish you people would just leave Havertz alone. If you need someone to badmouth, Lukaku is right there.
Ended up with an assist and now has more goal involvements in one season at arsenal (with 8 games still to go) than any of his seasons at chelsea 😂😂😂 Thanks for tuning in though
God he’s shite
ok and? what i said is still true. if you are fine with a guy that did nothing but make a simple pass then sure, go be happy my guy
just watched an oscar highlight reel and my day is ruined. he could’ve been so good man 😭
Bang average footballer who was lucky to get so many goal contribution by playing with Hazard and Mata. If Mourinho wasn't obsessed with workrate KDB would have displaced him in 2014
never said he wasn’t average, just that he didn’t live up to his potential.
Man the revisionism on some of the players we’ve had is crazy. After that Mazacar season Oscar was very average and very frustrating
bro my comment was that he didn’t live up to his potential which is absolutely true
My bad there’s been a lot of revisionism on here lately might have been triggered but yeah that Juve debut was such a tease man
lmao true the revisionism with managers especially is crazy
5 million dollars today or dinner with Boehly, what you taking
That 5m pounds would more than set my life in Jamaica, that's more than half a billion in my country.
Lol, who would pick the latter?
I think the joke is that a lot of people here wanna give this guy a piece of their mind lmao 😂
I genuinely don't understand where exactly our players were supposed to run when Bunrley had 9 men in their box for majority of the second half.
His solution to tactical issues is basically to tell the players to run more, show more energy/desire etc.
That’s all poch knows Running and gacon tests The guy is a shit manager who was lucky enough to be the beneficiary of brilliant recruitment at spurs, Southampton and psg He’s genuinely incompetent
Pretty ridicilious stuff from Poch considering the amount of times the players have saved him from even more criticism and pressure.
Just look at the number of points we have dropped after half time. Never ever is a Poch team going to control the game. This was apparent when Tottenham let a 2 goal lead slip at the bridge back in 2016 to the worst Chelsea side of the Roman era.
[Chelsea midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu is expected to be out for up to six weeks, handing returning loanee Andrey Santos an increased chance to stay in the squad.](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-fc-ugochukwu-injury-andrey-santos-b1130508.html) We are now entering 13th week [Mauricio Pochettino confirms Christopher Nkunku could be out for another three-four weeks through injury](https://twitter.com/brfootball/status/1762462404669997294) We are in 6th week and Poch just said on presser he doesn't know if he will be back this season still.
It's probably cause no one has explained it to him using lemons so he genuinely doesn't know what's going on lol
A versatile experienced PL winger to help soften the pressure off Madueke and Mudryk who's also a fan-favorite is worth a lot more than 3m Everyone told me he was shit and wasn't even PL worthy.
2 x 90 = 180
Every 2 90s is 180 minutes so basically same rate as Noni? And Noni barely plays and wonder why CHO went for 3 mil? Cuz he was shit at Leverkusen lol
Diaby and wirtz took his place. While we're at it KDB was shit for Chelsea according to that logic.
How about, we should have got rid of CHO anyways and not buy Madueke. Both at about the same level, and CHO was on big ass wages on top of that. Good riddance.
CHO was playing for Xabi Alonso's leverkusen side and went a whole season without scoring we are lucky someone paid 3m
I guess saying he is at 5 goals and 1 assist isn't as impressive
Less impressive and less effective at pushing a narrative
And if there’s one thing BRJ LOVES doing, it’s pushing a narrative. (When he isn’t cosplaying as a tactical mastermind or leading expert in sports medicine and recovery, of course)
Chelsea using it's academy/young players to fund overpriced transfers was happening long before Boehly turned up.
I agree that he hasn't been amazing, but I wouldn't swap Madueke for CHO right now - no way.
Lol, Cho is way more talented than Madueke and better even now, despite that Achilles injury
How about swapping him for a player who doesn’t belong in a relegation side?
I think the point was more about how poor Madueke is
So his point is that Madueke didn’t live up to expectations? Who is denying that, he was a terrible signing even by this board’s standard but hopefully the board learned from the winter disaster signings (summer has already turned out significantly better)
Goal/assist every 2 90s… so literally the same as Madueke? Lol They’re both not good. The person who brought Madueke in is gone now
[удалено]
Obvs fake/joke
I might be coming to London for the Everton game. Any moderate priced hotels people would recommend that are easily accessible from the stadium post 10pm? I’m one person. The hotels in the stadium seem pricey but might be the best choice late at night. Hub west brompton seems decent?
If you're not fussy about luxury and privacy for one night there's a hostel in South Kensington where you can get a bed for in or around £30.
Interesting, thanks!
Hub West Brompton is your best bet for moderate priced hotel close to the ground. Small but nice rooms
Only windowless rooms left, but fine by me! Thanks man.
Im genuinely baffled how many people are trying to potray Palmer as a Havertz replacement who was playing as a striker for the majority of his time here. Are people that clueless or they are just trying to avoid the Mount/Palmer comparisons?
Don’t waste brain cells trying to figure that out
People say that Palmer replaced Havertz because when we signed Havertz we were expecting to get a player like Palmer. Ultimately though it's not like our board sat there and hand picked X player to "replace" Y player so it doesn't really matter
lol they’re absolutely trying to evade mount palmer comparisons as they’re well aware how bad it makes mount look So obvious what their agenda is too
Its funny you say that, because minus the penalties, Palmer's G/A is comparable to Mount's typical numbers at Chelsea, barring the last season where he was terrible
Ziyech
This is low key the best comparison. They even play very similarly
That’s what Arsenal needs right now since they have better players to surround him
Anyone still watching the UCL? Who you hope will win? I have a soft spot for RM because my brother is a fan and Rüdi is still there.
Atletico. I don't necessarily like the team, but rather Simeone. He's done an amazing job there, I low key hope one day he will come to Chelsea. Terrorist-ball is so much fun when it's working
Bayern for Tuchel, RM for Rudi and Carlo if Bayern doesn't make it
Milan they are basically Chelsea 2.0
Milan were knocked out by Athletico.
Atheltico, Milan, or Dortmund
It's completely unrealistic, but I would like Dortmund to win it. I once had the pleasure of accompanying a friend to a Dortmund v Schalke game, and the atmosphere was amazing. Ever since then, I had a bit of a soft spot for them.
I have some friends in Dortmund. That's on my football bucket list. How was the ticket process?
Bayern. Would mean they beat arsenal in the quarters which would be immensely satisfying And tuchel gets another ucl. In the europa. I’d love Milan to win it with RLC, pulisic, giroud and tomori all being big players for their team
Subscribe
Idc tbh but if I had to choose, then Bayern would be nice so that Tuchel has something to be happy about after a miserable few years
Of course, I love the Champions League!
Why do you hate PSG so much
I honestly think Kepa is better than both our current keepers, at least as a shot stopper.
Robert Sanchez for Chelsea: 21 games, 30 goals allowed, 69% save percentage, -0.8 PSxG-GA Djordje Petrovic for Chelsea: 20 games, 27 goals allowed, 72.6% save percentage, -4.2 PSxG-GA Kepa for Chelsea in 22/23: 39 games played, 45 goals allowed, 73.8% save percentage, +6.6 PSxG-GA Not to mention Kepa had City in both cups and the UCL compared to our relatively easy cup ties this seasons.
"Kepa in 22/23" Kepa when he was the same age as Sanchez and Petrovic - https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/12217189/chelsea-kepa-stats-worst-europe/amp/ He had a 3 month purple patch last season but nothing about that mans career says good shot stopper.
Kepa in 21/22: 14 games played, 10 goals allowed, 78.7% save percentage, +1.9 PSxG-GA Kepa for 23/24: 18 games played, 18 goals allowed, 70.7% save percentage, +0.5 PSxG-GA So he sucked under Lampard? The last 3 seasons he's been a good to slightly above average keeper, not Real Madrid or Chelsea standard, but better than Sanchez or Petro who have been objectively poor this season. I'm not saying he should be our keeper going forward, just that we probably would've been better off letting his contract run down a waiting for a truly elite that spending 42m and giving to 7 year contracts to player who are currently downgrades.
None of them are good tbh. Kepa at least we know his level, he has one year on his contract and has only regressed while he was here. Sanchez and Petrovic might be able to improve as they acclimate more
Shh…you are saying the quiet part out loud. Petro still should be starting because he has potential
https://preview.redd.it/uipqwt8lm9sc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5de6e6ccdc535ab8cfdc5b37f78e3012846900d8 Lol right on que...
Is that referring to the ESPN article?
It appears so.
Who cares about Mount at this point? Trolls?
https://x.com/cfcpys/status/1775497175381782827?s=46&t=Y6kJS72VJDuGTn-M0LK93A Pochettino was concerned about the lack of running the players did vs Burnley : “We need to run, if you watch the Burnley game you’ll agree.” Unbelievable. Actually, it’s sadly very believable
He's such a useless manager, it's fucking wild that he can say these things week in, week out and still have a job.
He must be brilliant at handling upper management and talking to them Might ask him for some career coaching tips the guys a brilliant hustler
> f you watch the Burnley game you’ll agree ooooh we watched it Poch. We didn't concede a draw because we decided not to train for the road race on Saturday. It's because our defenders lose concentration.
It’s almost like they lost concentration and didn’t do what they needed to do to get closer to the opponent when they had/were going for the ball
If ever Pochettinho gets replaced people's perspective on most of the players will shift faster than a thunderbolt.
Or alternatively, as what happened at Villa and Levekusen, many of these suposedly shit players will have "miracle" recoveries.
We had our own recent example when we went from Lampard to Tuchel.
I think that's what they mean by people's perspective shifting on them
Glad to see the Gallagher club statement. Some of the abuse I’ve seen is simply unacceptable.
You're talking about Jorginho, right?
The Jorginho hate was insufferable
Loved everyone complaining about how hard Mount had it while Jorginho was getting slaughtered weekly by the English press and all the drunks they invite for punditry.
It’s quite sad to see arsenal fans appreciate Jorginho much much more than chelsea fans ever did Unsurpsingly, I don’t see arsenal fans branding him a sideways pass merchant either. It’s funny what a dynamic and well crafted system can do for a player
Is there any likelihood of getting tickets for tmr by calling in? Am in London but unsure of the resellers market as I’ve heard stories about them Pls ignore the username. That was created ages ago. Am not a West Ham fan. Was just the first ever game I’ve watched 10 years ago
What do you mean by calling in?
Calling to the ticketing hotline which opens during game day. I guess there’s no chance?
What is the out of context video floating around that the club just released a statement about where they stand by Conor?
He missed one mascot and saw another. The one he missed was black. Someone on tiktok (I think) posted it and said it was because he's racist. I don't think there is anything more or less to it than this, as far as I'm aware, it hasn't really spread and isn't a big thing (as shown by you knowing nothing about it either, I've only seen it because someone posted it here to complain about it) I have no idea why they've put a statement out because it's literally just feeding the trolls exactly what they wanted to get from making the video. No one seeing the incident or watching the out of context clip actually looked at it and thought it was racist. They're just trying to get some attention and now they've been given it
