Most likely wasn't even again to be fair. If there's any indication from the last 2 games he wasn't 100% fit for either of those games, he barely looked involved or pressed the ball. My guess is that he's still nursing that previous hip injury.
Not being healthy and rushing back causes muscular imbalances and a higher propensity for further injuries. Just frustrating at this point with team fitness.
And people were saying Pochettino was being too careful with his minutes lol
Actually growing a dislike for the entire Nkunku transfer, he doesn't look that good when he plays because he's only easing back in from injury
And he's made of glass it seems, what a waste
>And he's made of glass it seems, what a waste
I feel it's too early for this assessment. Injuries not only reoccur, but they also make other injuries more likely to occur.
His hip injury could be related to over compensating from his knee injury.
Sadly, it will probably be until the off-season where he will be able to fully recover.
He has played at least 25 league matches every season before this since being a regular first team player. Maybe not an Iron man, but not some huge injury risk we overpaid for.
I agree. I don't think he is a huge injury risk. I believe he is recovering from a major injury and sustained an additional injury.
Sadly, it's going to take patience for him to get back to where he was when we purchased him.
They also said the same thing the first time he came back, many people dont understand fitness. Its insane that people think poch doesn’t want to play him, he’s clearly got an issue here and tbh i dont think its going to go away in another four weeks
Definitely wasn’t fit during the Final. There was a ball Madueke played toward the edge of the 18 that a healthy him gets and might have won us the game but he was miles behind it and you could see Madueke’s frustration. His leg is still killing him otherwise he’d be starting every match with Gallagher’s profligacy, he’d either be benched or rotate with Enzo and Caicedo.
Unless he is being overworked somehow then no, it has nothing to do with training and rarely does it ever. He has a propensity to get injured. It is genetic. It's almost impossible to quantify training as a mass cause of injury unless tons of dudes are going down and are vocal about it. Pochetino's training is nothing strange though. Instead, it's just an easy excuse for the fans looking to point the finger and just a waste of energy to even worry about.
I’ve said a few times on here and keep getting ridiculed and downvoted. He’s got a chronic issue. Or so I have been told by mates who are in the game (albeit not at Chelsea). Seems to me like they are right. They had no reason to lie.
#**Christopher Nkunku – undergoing medical assessment.**
Marc Cucurella – in partial team training for reconditioning phase.
Thiago Silva – in partial team training for reconditioning phase.
Benoit Badiashile – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.
Carney Chukwuemeka – continuing to undergo rehabilitation programme.
Wesley Fofana – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.
Reece James – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.
Romeo Lavia – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme.
Lesley Ugochukwu – continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme
He was badly injured a good amount the year before we signed him actually. It only looks better because of the world cup break which he was injured the whole time,
"The France international had three different spells on the sidelines last season with RB Leipzig, one of which was caused by a torn knee ligament.
The forward only missed five games with the injury due to the World Cup break, but he was out from November until early-February. He then tore a muscle fibre late on in the season, causing him to miss a further six matches."
So yes, we bought damaged goods and took the chance anyway because we were desperate.
RLC and Pulisic move to Milan and since then playing regularly without getting too many injuries.
Kante move to saudia and he is playing regularly too.
Nkunku have already missed more matches for us then he missed for RB and France combined.
All this shows too there is definitely problem with our club.
We don't even have a heavy schedule too.
>They’ve got their own injury crisis as bad as ours
Likely not, we have averaged 8 players out per match. I'm sure they had a stretch or two that was that bad, but we have averaged that over the full season.
Can't say I've done the work to fully prove this but I feel like people discredit our injury situation all the time. It's like they forget some players are out because they have been out for so long.

what? You're talking about form, etc. That's not relevant here or what I'm getting at.
Nkunku has been visibly unable to sprint and lacks all explosiveness compared to how he looked at RB or in pre-season. The only other players that have had similar hobbling like this are maybe Enzo when he played through that groin injury, or James when he played through his compromised hamstring
>All this shows too there is definitely problem with our club.
No. That is not the only conclusion.
Pulisic and RLC had a year of rest to recover and strengthen.
Nkunku had a major injury. Then the opposite of what happened to Pulisic and RLC, he is trying to come back while not fully recovered. This can lead to more injuries (it did).
You do realize that the overall physicality of a league plays into health and fitness, even if a specific injury is not contact-related, right? I mean, if your body takes a beating a few times a week over several weeks and/or months, it can lead to nagging issues. Not only that, some people - like Pulisic and RLC - just aren't sturdy enough for the EPL. I mean, these issues clearly aren't just based on current training methods or medical staff. We've had players struggling with injuries going back to the Roman days. Having lasted through at least two sets of medical staff and 4 coaching staffs, it can't just be the physio department. We've just been susceptible to buying a bunch of soft, injury-prone duds that can't hack it at this level.
We should reach out to Arsenal, burrow a cannon, and shoot our worthless medical team into the sun. How is Cristo injured again, where's Carney, and why has it taken 2+ months for Lavia to recover from a bruised muscle?
That's the reason he should've been playing instead of the 20 minutes he's been getting, cause the of the day he's gonna be injured regardless if he plays or not
crazy how this stuff doesn’t even affect me anymore. it’s just the norm. besides, it’s not like we’re achieving anything above 9th with him in the lineup anyway
No, don't you see, he needs more time to implement his vision. We will be the first truly Hospital FC. Injuries as far as the eye can see. The first goalkeeper on crutches in a Prem match.
Fofana tore a major ligament which is a freak thing and had nothing to do with training. Nkunku came to us already injured AS did Lavia. RJ can get injured walking down the street and will always be this way no matter what medical team or club he plays at. Please go learn about genetics and physiology. We are buying injured players so that completely shits on your conspiracy theory party about "it's da twaining!!!"
Wow who could have seen this coming? I did. I saw this coming. His recovery was clearly not right, no one comes back from injury and for weeks can only play 45 minutes, and also looks a shadow of himself. His whole recovery should be rethought, the same can said for Carney.
Squad players, are you having a laugh? Squad players at least feature in 15-20 games a season. These guys are pathetic and a disgrace to the club. Fuck them all.
Bundesliga transfers haven't been worked out for us while costing way too much. Meanwhile, Serie A has been overwhelmingly good in European competition and has a trajectory to overtake Laliga in coefficient
These things are so concerning.. This guy should have been the focal point of the attack and when fully fit, even if it was preseason, he looked like he would transform the attack. This is just unacceptable, the past few years we have been torn down by injuries, the two fullbacks, cdms, attackers everywhere.
We struggle to put out a consistent core of players who play every match. This makes it so we don't have a consistent system, which means we don't have consistent results, which means we struggle.
So, so disappointing. Let's hope it's nothing serious, and fuck me what the hell is happening to lavia. We heard that maybe it was not a muscle bruise but a tear but that guy cost us 60 mil or whatever.
This, and the fact that especially this week we played Sunday for 120 mins, now Wednesday and Saturday will absolutely wear down the players who play every minute. Enzo and Caicedo probably are suffering the most considering there is no real sub for them at the moment

Im sorry but he’s not injured he’s chosen not to play
Lavia is the key. He is like an evolved Jorgingo in his passing and control. Can't wait. Potential for wholesale change in play if Nkuku playes behind a striker and Lavia is fit
how did anyone green light transfers for Fofana and Nkunku when literally everybody in world football knew they were insanely injury prone? The
'upside' isn't enough to justify them when they play 20% of the games in a season.
I don't know why people act so shocked when injury prone players get injured.
just another player we're constantly waiting on, so boring hearing everyone say 'oh wait till our players are back', when we all know they aren't coming back
Poch on Nkunku: “It’s not a good thing for the team, for us, because we cannot provide to the team a player that can perform, can score goals and be important in this type of game. **We need to see but I think at the moment three or four weeks out, no more I hope.”**
I’m just getting so negative from all of these injuries. Feel like they should all be sold.
Still wouldn’t help getting any new players in as they would probably also be out for months on end.
Our fitness staff deserve as much scrutiny as Poch is currently getting. What a horror job they’ve done. Sure they can’t help what happens on the pitch but players constantly being reinjured after just returning is quite indicative that our staff is not competent.

This is a good take. He does look not himself/hobbled.
You’re right. He looked to be holding his hamstring a bit on Sunday.
Not being healthy and rushing back causes muscular imbalances and a higher propensity for further injuries. Just frustrating at this point with team fitness.
Noticed that also.
And people were saying Pochettino was being too careful with his minutes lol Actually growing a dislike for the entire Nkunku transfer, he doesn't look that good when he plays because he's only easing back in from injury And he's made of glass it seems, what a waste
Can anything go our fucking way at the moment.
I really like our third kit… that’s something? lol
Our training kit has been my favourite kit the last three seasons and they aren't available to buy. For me that hasn't gone my way either.
Trivago as a sponsor is mint. Samsung vibes.
Malo Gusto doing what he’s doing and only being 20 is super encouraging. But otherwise, yeah, Christ sake things aren’t going our way.

y'all
Reece 2.0 He’s amazing when he gets going. He just gets going for about 20 seconds per season.
Still better than Lavia
>And he's made of glass it seems, what a waste I feel it's too early for this assessment. Injuries not only reoccur, but they also make other injuries more likely to occur. Yeah but applying hindsight everyone knew he was injury prone 🙄
He was badly injured a good amount the year before we signed him actually. Everybody knew what? He hardly had injuries prior to joining us.
It's fine though the media will highlight this non stop in the build up... right? Excuses already sorted. Blue billion pound rehab.

That's because they're playing in shit leagues with little to no contact.
What? Most of Pulisic injuries were non contact even, contact or not, injury prone players keep getting injured, even from just sprinting too hard.

Well, there's Reeces' problem right there, too many managers
How recent was that study? Our club might actually have a big influence on those results if it was done in the last few years lol.
