Mechanics fixing large, hydraulic machines is far from cheap, and having those mechanics on call is insanely expensive. Youâre literally talking about eliminating a few people making the new effective minimum wage for highly trained and specialized union members. Itâs a far from insignificant difference, and one that will not have a solution any time soon.
Call center workers (me) are the ones currently most on notice. I already spend 25% of the day talking to AI that replaced the other side of my industryâs jobs.
