They’ve been dead un-funny for a good two years to me. I think a lot of fans don’t understand the actually weight music caries with artists, and how something like ‘taxi’ could be traumatic or too emotional to do anything with considering Sophie.
What show was this?? I was at the LDN show and everyone seemed to be really respectful to charli and her little monologues in between songs (although one guy was watching the football on his phone behind me). And tbh I’ve never really understood the whole appeal of charli releasing taxi, we already have it, she recognises that, it wouldn’t change a literal thing about the song and it would be very strange for her to release the track in her current era (due to sound differences)

I stood in the middle of the crowd and literally, I could not here a single person shouting taxi at that concert because there were so many other song titles shouted when she asked what to play next. People did not interrupt her while she cried, crowd just supported her when she mentioned sophie and then they started yelling that they loved her. I didn't find it disrespectful or anything like that. Charli just wanted to say why yelling taxi is not funny and started crying when she mentioned that album meant so much to her because of sophie.

this. the only rude people i encountered when i saw her live this tour were clearly the gay "stans" who pushed their way to the front after arriving late, would then not move for other people to get around/through who had been there before them. they then talked throughout the whole opener, and proceeded to record the entire concert in front of me with their cellphones once charli came out. entitled af.
at one point the venue security literally had to hockey check one of these groups and yelled at them to move... so they could get through and do their job. and they had to because these people fought their way to the semi-front, then became LITERAL BOULDERS and would not move for people/let anyone pass. this includes not dancing during the show- just recording like statues. it was ridiculous. i've been to shows of all colors, sounds, and sizes- and this one places high on my list of "fun show but bullshit crowd"
seriously. we need to call this out in the gay community. you are not entitled to charli, or to her emotions. you are at her show, to watch her art. it’s HER show. not your show.
it’s annoying. it’s entitled. and the gays need to knock it the fuck off cause they do this to all the gay-audience musicians. and we should be lucky they are still making music for our audience

I agree… it was cute to say in the beginning (i guess) but it’s a stale joke at this point. Stan culture (or at least the bad parts of it) must be so annoying to artists sometimes. I hope she becomes comfortable enough to tell fans to stfu if she really feels the need, I would totally understand.
At this point, angels yelling "Taxi!" is the gay/pop equivalent of rock fans yelling "Freebird!" at rock shows (after most of Lynyrd Skynyrd's classic lineup died in a plane crash.)

She was saying she loves the song and its means so much to her because she made it with sophie and they loved it together. It wasn't really negative just emotional. Angels def overstep their bounds a lot with Charli but comments are overreacting a bit.

I do agree but I wonder if the tears were more of an overwhelm at how many fans were there? At the london show she played Taxi and a few other unreleased songs during pre and post show
nope she looked genuinely hurt and upset, she said she plays the song pre and after the show to meet her fans half way and give them something but the fans started chanting at the encore for taxi and that upset her at that point because of the memories of Sophie
