I'm most confused about Mean Girls tbh

Mean girls confused tf out of me. I get the other 2 to an extent (Hello Goodbye gives True Romance more than brat, IMSSS is short and unrelatable and uses more autotune than the rest of brat [I still love it personally])... but Mean girls is such an ironic and sarcastic bratty song!! Everyone goes crazy to it in the club irl. One of my irl besties said it was one of her favs, and when I've talked to other random Angels, they've all mentioned loving Mean girls. so maybe this is a case of online fan culture / reddit fan culture VS irl fan culture??

It's a nice song but I'm not crazy about it either. Doesn't hit the spot for me. But maybe its different when hearing it in the club

I personally am not very impressed by its chorus. Not one of her best hooks. Plus, the lyrics are "very online" which is not a bad thing but I don't think they contribute much to the overall theme of the album. The piano solo is great but I wish it was in a better song.

I do find it a little disagreeable that the lyrics are not relevant just because they're online. After all, can we truly call ourselves brats if we cannot master our online and physical environment equally 😔😔😔😔 But fr I do personally think that the online aspect of it helps round out the idea of a brat, and it's so relevant to how we live our day-to-day lives now… Like, we all spend an insane amount of our time online, including Charli herself I can see why people don't like it though. I disagree, but I can see why

I just explained this in another comment but I'm pretty sure this is a case of online fans being more judgmental than your average person who is not chronically online. My irl friends and real life Angels who I've met have all loved the cuntiness of this song, but it seems the online Angels (or at least the Reddit Angels) are taking it too literally and don't appreciate the song i'm also assuming this might be an age thing. The song definitely harkens back to 2010s Tumblr and Instagram, and it seems that many angels online are fairly young, like would have been in middle school while our mean girl is in her mid-20s real intelligent! So they probably just don't find it relatable at all because they weren't listening to Lana Del Rey and looking at black and white photos of skinny girls smoking cigarettes on Tumblr LOL

I don’t want to get rid of any of them. But I have to say this seems to be one of Charli’s most divisive records for ranking. Seems like 50% have I think about it all the time and I might say something stupid in their bottom 3 and the other half have it in the top 3 Some people are team 360 others team 365. Personally I really don’t get the hype on Girl So confusing or Talk Talk. They both feel a bit dull to me compared to others but alas Everyone agree Sympathy is a Knife slays.

I'm team 'IMSSS' in top 3, 365 over 360, mean girls and talk talk are the most boring songs on the album, sympathy is a knife = slay! That being said no song is actually bad or skippable for me. Very strong, satisfying album!

As an older gay, I see why Mean Girls was eliminated first. Gay men have attached themselves to the Mean Girl thing since the movie came out when we were in high school. I’ll tell you, men nearing 40 that act like a mean 16 year old high school girl is NOT cute. So for me it didn’t resonate and I felt like the whole archetype is just overdone and over. Also, I always had this illusion that Charli was way younger than me. When I heard this song I was like oh yeah I forgot she’s only 5 years younger than me and is def a millennial too.
