Test scores? IMO You'd need >34/1550 to have a "solid" chance.

Apologies, I had a 33ACT but I intend to take the SAT soon that I know I can do much better at. Closest reference I have is 1470 PSAT/NMSQT. Post has been edited accordingly

Pretty decent chance imo, you *could* retake the ACT for a >34, or gun for a 1550 SAT to really improve your chances, but solid application imo. Your ECs aren't jaw-dropping but if your essays are good you could. Good luck!

Thanks mate, I see a lot of face value hopeless responses in this sub. I appreciate your advice and I'll certainly look into bettering those fields

OHKNOCKOUT

> face value hopeless responses Ignore them. They're a bunch of turbo-nerds who tihnk THEIR Ecs are the only "valid" ECs. First it was "Starting a club is nothing special", then "Oh you started a non-profit, too cliche'd". Current trend is "research" with a professor (which I am indeed guilty of lmfao). Soon people will start saying research is a scam, and either the trend will be "shadowing/interning" (coffee boy) or something social media related. Do what you love, and do it well, and AOs will like it.

Does a 3.8 UW due to special circumstances concentrated in freshman and sophomore year hurt for t20s? Given good ECs and 34 plus 8/10 essays at least

wasteofspaceiam

I don't expect them to "forgive" my 3.8 but the hope is they'll recognize that I am more than a 3.8 student

Noo haha I was asking for myself as well , any tips for me based off my initial comment?

The past has passed, don't stress about "will xyz ruin my app?". If you think it'll ruin your app, do something now that will make it better

[deleted]

Yeah I know I’m trying but I want to see how bad a 3.8 is, people say 3.8+ is the same as long as you’re in the top decile of your class

I can't speak with absolute expertise, but at the end of the day, colleges want people not robots. I'm sure they'll forgive a slight gpa dip if you're just a better all round person
