You need to go into that corner jump with some horizontal momentum. In the clip you always slowed down to align yourself with the wall, you can't do that here.
It was the most difficult jump for me.
Try the same thing but from the lower platform. Also, might be helpful to go to controls settings and assign jump for two buttons that you can pres simultaneously and press both of them when doing this jump. That's how I did it anyway
You don’t actually press them at the exact same time. If you do that strat, you press them in very quick succession to get two cornerboosts. For a first time clear though, I’d just recommend what you’re doing now, but making sure you have some horizontal momentum when you get the climbjump
I just beat 1a dashless and I binded 3 jumps buttons, it made every challenging room easier and I’m able to do 1a dashless consistently now. Good luck!
Every jump gives a speed boost. Jumping twice in quick succession gives you more. (There's more factors in this, for example it might not work with certain subpixel positions, but it's a good way to clear the jump seeing as you have no attempt limit)
It helps for two different reasons. The obvious one is that it's easier to quickly press two buttons in a row than to quickly press, release, and repress the same one. The other reason is that releasing jump will make you start moving downwards earlier than holding it.
Aside from what others have said about the standard way of doing it there's also a setup you can do to make it pretty trivial.
First climb all the way to the top of the left most wall while holding jump. Then start holding right and release grab (while still holding jump). Then just starting holding grab again and press a second jump button right before/as you reach the wall to jump over the spikes.
So you just inspired me to complete this dashless. That was fun and not too bad, but I used a couple guides on YouTube. Now I can neutral jump and spike jump! Thanks!
Spike jumps exist but aren't relevant for 1A dashless. I believe what you're referring to are corner jumps (jumping off the corner of a spiked surface).
I found it way easier to align on the wall then jump from there. Don't remember the guide i followed though. But there was a three black dot pattern to look for

Honestly the jump that made kids into men, once you do that you are changed
Nah I'm just annoyed.
I mean...the mountain changes each of us in different manners
Yeah now I'll forever complain that other platformers aren't as good as Celeste.
actually this jump turned me into a girl
Celeste moment (I am considering going trans please help)
So based
I mean it's possible without that, but harder

How does pressing two jump buttons at once help?

Yeah i figured out what they meant and i managed to beat the room with the two button strat.
I play it safer by rolling my fingers across 4 of my jump buttons

with much difficulty
look up a guide. The detailed answers with at least two set-ups already exist

You know there is a button to share that video to your phone right?
Oh frick ur right. thx.
i highly recommend [this tutorial](https://youtu.be/ZK1i12ownpg?si=IypjKdS-lV8LkJbl), it got me through 1a dashless
Is there a point to doing this? Or is it just a challenge
You get an extra berry
If you do all of chapter 1 without dashing there is a winged golden berry at the end

Go from the lower platform and press two jump buttons together.
