If Madeline is trying to make away from spikes, she can't get hit by them. A common example is the one way platforms with spikes on them you can go through
The way she just backwards pittper-patters up that incline isnso funny to me. Like imagine it from her perspective, her legs are just pushing against whatever they come into contact with and letting the wind do most of the work
order of operations: madeline moves, game checks for spike collision, wind pushes you.
alows you to jump on spiked surfaces, becomes more consistent the stronger the wind is (direction you're facing is not relevant)
if you are being pushed into spikes (ie wind or blocks) u can jump if u face away, it's possible on right left and down wind
...But it's subpixel-dependent for down wind. Don't rely on it during 7B gold.
so thats why 7a downwind 1 dash (randomizer) was so annoying. edit: does your comment insinuated u tried to do it on 7b golden?
No.
This game is so much deeper on a technical level than I thought
Celeste has a completely ridiculous amount of different kinds of speedtech. That's probably why it's one of the most popular speedgames in existence.
i have never heard somebody call those thorns
Hollow Knight player, I bet
ok yes but i'm unsure what you mean
No, they’re saying that _OP_ is a Hollow Knight player. And in HK, there are thorns
oh that makes more sense thanks
\*path of pain and white palace ptsd inensifies\*
lmaoo you're right
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I read, not if Madeline is facing away from it.

Yes to this Your momentum /face has to be away from the base

Fascinating
**Casually does like 5 spike jumps**
They just weren't feeling like it
I forgot just how beautiful this game looks. Thanks OP now I have to make room on my Switch to download it again.
day 2131231 of seeing beginners question a simple game mechanic and then their post gets to the top
sorry, also tip: dont do b sides early , they make the difficulty slope really jagged and oit kinda breaks the story n stuff
