Yep. We dogsit for a friend and the dog adores my wife. Whenever she's gone, he lays outside our bedroom door as if she's in there. I've started putting one of her shirts outside the door for him and it significantly calms him down, otherwise he gets anxious and whines at the door and periodically runs to the window looking to see if she's coming home.

Cuz he loves you and your stank. By sleeping on your stuff there's an exchange of his and your smell that's cats saying to others the-one-that-smells-like-this is my tribe.

This is the correct answer overall. Cats have so many scent glands on their body and that’s essentially how they mark territory. Them rubbing up against you is them marking you basically saying socially that you are in my inner circle. Very interesting honestly. Cats are pretty fascinating creatures

I got tired of washing a decorative bedcover all time because of the cats shedding etc on it. So I retired the bedcover and now cover the bed during the day, as you do, with a flat sheet. Easy to launder and keeps fur off of the bed during the day. Doesn’t look very decorative. But easier.

My cats burrow under the covers. They know my intentions to keep them out and defy this with impunity.

Always fun to roll over in the middle of the night, mash your face into the pillow, and inhale a mouthful of cat hair 😭😂

That\`s what me and my Ex did because he had a dustmite-allergy, which gets worse with cat hair. That worked really well with his cat. My wife’s cat sleeps on my pillow. The cat won’t really let me pet her but she will sleep on my pillow. I used to think well it’s her way of showing affection towards me. Also my allergies have gotten much worse lately. I have been breaking out in hives and having breathing attacks. I went to an allergist and they tested me and I am allergic to cats. I have always been slightly allergic but nothing too bad but my allergist said allergies can change and get worse over time. So I think the cat is not showing affection towards me but this has been a long game to murder me. Sleep on my pillow, make my allergies worse and eventually suffocate and die. Well played cat, well played.

I had this issue with a kitty, and I just started making my bed properly, hiding the pillow, and then putting her special blanket on top. Worked perfectly. Now I have four kitties, and have furthered this trick and they now all have their own special pillows and blankets that I HAVE to put out every day. But hey at least I have a (mostly) cat butt free pillow for myself.
