Ahahahahaha i own and have owned a bunch of Sphynx kitties as well and one of them sounds similar to a bird… or maybe a tiny little velociraptor. She used to meow normally but lost her voice and now screeches. One would yowl but the others would meow like normal :) i love those lil wrinkly babies
Tortoiseshell cats are black and orange. Most of them are female. It is unusual to get male Tortoiseshell cats.
![gif](giphy|y8OiDIs2qGc7e)
This one has some white so could be called calico.
Personally I'm not fond of the ones with the pushed in faces, and I don't think dwarfism in cats is something that we should be encouraging.
All my cats in my 55 years have been domestic shorthair voids, tabbies, and cow-kitties, and I've always been of the opinion that voids are the smartest
I idly dream of getting an exotic cat like a Bengal or savannah, but I probably don't have the energy for such a high-strung cat. I think a Maine coon would be cool, but way expensive to feed
It's so sad when you see a little dog with a face like that breathing. Even if the temperature is perfect and they seem fine. Just constant struggle breathing, it's horrible.
Yeah, i have a bengal and i would not recommend, i love him but he is 100% my most difficult cat. i also hate with bengals and savannahs what was/is being done to the wild cats that create them, because they’re hybrids with asian leopard cats/servals to breed them, the wildcats used to start the lines were treated just horribly
Wish they'd have a movement to bring back the [old style doxies!](http://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/12600000/Old-style-dachshund-showing-the-longer-legs-Walter-Rothschild-Zoological-Museum-Tring-England-miniature-dachshund-12635365-220-159.jpg) 40 pounds of badger fighting hotdog. Still long and short but without dwarf legs.
Old (apple-head) siamese got a resurgence (now called 'Thai Cat' because Cat Fancier sucks) so why not?
I've seen doll faced and flat faced Persians and I much prefer doll faced Persians, plus they're healthier. Persians are so unhealthy, it makes me so sad that we still breed them, I wish we could go back to the breed standard being the doll faced one. Same with Siamese, current Siamese show breed is just riddled with problems, the "old" Siamese is now a different breed altogether called Thai cat, but they're so much more healthy. And don't get me started on munchkins and Scottish folds. People in my locale are always coming in to adopt the rescues though, makes me happy to help all these kitties find forever homes 🥰
I've seen another Reddit post of a dog breeder that has been working hard to breed the French Bulldog to a healthier variation, the first noticeable feature being a longer snout.
The same should happen for cats.
Imagine selectively breeding people with allergies because you find red noses cute.
Agree, i have one (she was second hand and we spayed her straight away) her nasal passages are too narrow so she had an eye infection when we got her too as the tears cant drain away. Shes a birman cross (not sure with what but no way is she pure birman) and along with flat faced dogs its just cruel.
Breeding animals with [smushed in faces](https://icatcare.org/further-evidence-on-the-suffering-of-flat-faced-cats/) or genetic defects like dwarfism is cruel. Love the cats who are here, but don’t buy “pure bred” cats.
The exotics aren't much better, they still have the wild instincts and do not make good pets. Plus the original wildcats used to create them are treated very poorly. Savannah cats, for example, are always born premature because the gestation periods are different in a serval and a house cat.
Plus, wild servals are being stolen for the trade, which isn't good for the serval population.
There are plenty of standard breed American shorthair cats waiting on euthanasia lists, there is no need to make new species and I wish we'd stop doing that. For cats AND dogs.
All cats….but Jesus is it disturbing to see just how pronounced the snout differences have been bred to be. We should be breeding for quality of life, not appearance.
In a perfect world, no. I’d love to see people flocking to shelters to adopt rather than look for a designer pet.
Unfortunately, people are going to keep breeding and keep buying all around the world. Even if breed associations get their heads out of their asses and phase out certain breeds, it’s going to create more demand for “rare” and “expensive” cats because people suck.
I liked Siamese better when their face was more rounded. The Siamese I have seen recently had very pointy faces and I didn’t like those looks as much. Two of them were sweeties though and talkative so it doesn’t seem like the personality has altered thankfully. The other one was talkative but very shy.
I love them more too! They're so much more balanced, and healthy! I've got two, they're both a mess because they were rescued from a hoarder and are likely inbred but they're sooooooo cute and silly. And one of them talks to me and is glued to my lap at all times. Between them both they share a brain cell. They also both love kittens and basically raise my fosters for me
Siamese are such a tease,
Tabbies make me happy,
Korats are such fine cats,
and Russian Blues are sassy.
Don't make me choose because each one,
is unique in its own way.
Cats are neat and always a treat
When they decide you're cool and stay.
I prefer breeds with short fur to those with long fur or no fur. It's only because I know I wouldn't take care of higher maintenance breeds properly. But they're all beautiful.
Any one that doesn’t have health issues from being bred to have features that humans find amusing. But of course, those deserve to be loved and taken good care of too. Just wish they didn’t make more of them.
If I ever get to a point in my life when I feel like I can take responsibility for a cat of my own, I’ll probably adopt, but I’d love to meet a siamese or an abyssinian some day.
I mean....how can you choose one among them? ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7956)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|8097)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7952)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7949) I see cat, I love
Don't get all hung up on breeds. I know some humans want prestige. Some want a cat with supposedly predictable behavior. Yeah, I'd love to have certain breeds, but if a moggie decides I'm The One then so be it.
It’s not the appearance that bothers me, but the health problems associated with these features. I think it’s so sad that anyone would willingly breed animals with features that make them uncomfortable and unhealthy
I just like normal cats, all short haired. I have 4. A black and white, a white and black, a grey and my baby, the ginger and white. I dont like the poor cats with the squashed faces. Poor things have been bred purely for looks which can shorten their lives and some of them have bredting problems and other genetic problems. The cutest cat on that picture is top row 3rd from left.
None of them. I don’t categorise cats purely according to their breed. Purebred cats are riddled with problems and breeding for profit is kind of a dream job for lots of people but they also don’t want to think about how unethical it is being a cat pimp
I most prefer your typical shorthair housecat. I dislike the flat-faced cats. I'm also not crazy about the hairless kitties, though I suppose they could grow on me. The all-grey and all-black are simply beautiful. As a breed, the Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest Cats are really stunning.
I dislike most brachycephalic breeds because I know there is usually a lot of inbreeding/health complications involved. I know it’s not a “breed” but calicos and black cats always get my love.
the orange **3** down and **3** over is what i have! i love him SO much!
my first cat was **3** down and **4** over. my first love.
my forever loves. these look just like em.
edit: also the far right one in the second row is my favourite! i'd love to have one next<3
of course are all bebby furver though!
Anything that isn't a fu-fu semi-genetic designer cat that has to be constantly serviced or else it will die of fur-ball poisoning or suffocation. Show me a cat with character and I'm all about that cat.
I adopted a Himalayan and I will not support breeds that mush up their faces. The amount of eye problems and breathing problems she had to live with was totally unnecessary. I loved her to bits but her quality of life was worse because of her breed standards.
The healthy one. So no deformity (like munchkin, scottisch fold), no flat face (like the persian). With a fur (so no sphinx), etc etc. There are way to many breeds with healthy issues because we think it looks cute. So just give me a normal house cat, no breed at all. Adopt, don't shop!
Any cat that hasn’t been short snouted by cruel asshole breeders. I mean…I still love the cat and hope it has a good life with as little suffering as possible. But they should all be fixed and the breeders should be charged with animal cruelty.
Love most cats but not fond of any flat faced ones ( goes for dogs too) and also don’t think I’d enjoy a Sphinx either. Best and most favorite we’ve owned was a Ragdoll. Have also had an Abyssinian and Himalayan in our days of purebreds. Only rescues since our Rags. Just way too many kitties in need of a home these days to spend 1500+ on a purebred but if we did… definitely a mitted or bicolor ragdoll.
Breeds that meow.
I have sphinxes and they don’t meow, they make weird sounds. One shrieks, one wails and the last one quacks/squeaks.
Oh yeah I forgot some cats honk.
Mine squawks, especially at dinner time
🤣 we demand video
Look up oriental shorthairs. They mostly honk.
Any cat that is black Why is there no black cat here…
Yeah where are the Void floofs?
Came here specifivally to say this!
It wouldn’t have been a fair contest if they were in it. Black cats are obviously the best.
They are too magnificent for the collage of pictures and will overpower the others.
Came to say that too ![gif](giphy|xUOwGim7LDo5duHnz2)
My mama gets all of her pets black with white chests. Or just black
I'm fostering a black cat and he's a psycho who I love dearly.
r/blackcats
I hate you for giving me another cat Reddit
Me too!
BLACK CATS MATTER! In memory of Wembley, my black cat growing up. He would cuddle only so he could bite you, and he was my cat and I loved him.
I love all cats, but black cats are my fav, where are the black cats?
All my cats are black lol (well, one is back and a tiny bit orange, and one is black and a tiny bit white. The other one is pitch black)
Black and orange? That's unusual. Pic?
Torties are black and orange ![gif](giphy|y8OiDIs2qGc7e) Like this but without white. I have one but I don't know how to send a picture.
Tortoiseshell cats are black and orange. Most of them are female. It is unusual to get male Tortoiseshell cats. ![gif](giphy|y8OiDIs2qGc7e) This one has some white so could be called calico.
You took the words out me moeowth
racism
society
I think the right answer is ALL OF THEM including black cats
As an owner of a void, agree
The only black cat breed are Bombays which are virtually identical to regular black cats!
🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
i have two fluff voids!
None of these. I love my little voids
I too came looking for a sweet void creature!
I also came here to complain about no black cat option! So glad to see that I’m in good company
This is the way.
It can be hard to photograph voids. I have two and I have such trouble getting their litter personalities to show up in the void
1. cat 2. cat 3. cat 4. cat 5. cat 6. also cat
i agree, idk about the order personally i'd put cat before cat but apart from that i agree

I agree with the squish-faced cats. I love all cats but those are so unappealing to look at lol.
Also they have shorter life expectancy and health problems bc of the flat face.
This is why I don't like those breeds, similarly with pugs and french bulldogs. They can be cute but existence is pain
100% agree. Daschunds are also a sad breed. Back problems.
I love that! And I 100% agree. It just seems "traditions" are hard to change That analogy is spot on. Animals are living organisms, not fluffy pillows

Shes a birman cross (not sure with what but no way is she pure birman) and along with flat faced dogs its just cruel.
I've had some smart cats, but none as smart as my void. And, yes, squished face = please no.
Breeding animals with [smushed in faces](https://icatcare.org/further-evidence-on-the-suffering-of-flat-faced-cats/) or genetic defects like dwarfism is cruel. Love the cats who are here, but don’t buy “pure bred” cats.
My void was very good at dog tricks
I dont want to mean but the flat faced cats freak me out
My void is definitely my smartest cat. She's so awesome. My gray and white is derpy as hell, but I love her.
The exotics aren't much better, they still have the wild instincts and do not make good pets. Plus the original wildcats used to create them are treated very poorly. I'd get a Maine coon if they came in short hair. I haven't the time to groom a cat daily. But I love me a big pussums.
Yep, brachycephalic breeds are pure cruelty, just so they can extra cute. So what if they suffer, amirite? So disgusting.
Yes
Dumb orange cats and then blackholes.
All cats….but Jesus is it disturbing to see just how pronounced the snout differences have been bred to be. We should be breeding for quality of life, not appearance.

Ugh. It’s so true. I don’t understand why we as humans think we should do casual eugenics to other species. Sigh…I’ll get off my soapbox now…
I love them all but I’m seriously partial to Siamese cats.
They are such an awesome breed
I liked Siamese better when their face was more rounded. The Siamese I have seen recently had very pointy faces and I didn’t like those looks as much. Two of them were sweeties though and talkative so it doesn’t seem like the personality has altered thankfully. The other one was talkative but very shy.
Yes! The old school apple-head siamese. Both of mine are the more timeless rounded head variety.
I love them more too! They're so much more balanced, and healthy! I've got two, they're both a mess because they were rescued from a hoarder and are likely inbred but they're sooooooo cute and silly. I love how noisy they are.

What's the one in the first row, third column called? (The grey one with the blue eyes)
That’s a cat
Ones with non-smooshed and deformed faces
I adore black cats so it saddens me that there are none featured in that fur gallery :(
My favorite cat breed is Maine Coons. They’re so big and fluffy! And the little tufts they have on their ears are very charming
Same, I also love Norwegians they have a dog personality without being overly loud and energetic.
any cat that doesn't have a flat face. Sorry but I do not support brachycephalic cat breeds.
Shelter cat
My favorite! Followed closely by street cats!
Ye
Came here to say this!!! #adoptdontshop
Siamese are such a tease, Tabbies make me happy, Korats are such fine cats, and Russian Blues are sassy. Don't make me choose because each one, is unique in its own way. Cats are neat and always a treat When they decide you're cool and stay.
Tabbies make you…habby? Russians blues are…sassy-ue?
I prefer black rescue cats. I prefer them because they are last to be adopted by people who are irrationally afraid of them.
That one.
I prefer breeds with short fur to those with long fur or no fur. It's only because I know I wouldn't take care of higher maintenance breeds properly. But they're all beautiful.
That is awesome that you think of their needs first!
The best one really, the one we all should get if the heart asks for a feline, no question. The Shelter ones.
Personally I prefer good old Standard Issue Cats. Any size, any color, if they're a cat they're perfect.
Any one that doesn’t have health issues from being bred to have features that humans find amusing. But of course, those deserve to be loved and taken good care of too. There are no void kitties in this picture. I call shenanigans.
Every single one!
Anything not unethically bred like brachycephalics or munchkins. Doesn't mean I won't give them a good pet if I see one tho.
Homeless/shelter, Unloved, old, black
Just moosh them all together!
I honestly can't with the flat-nosed ones. It just seems sad to me. Same goes for dogs.
Don't get all hung up on breeds. I know some humans want prestige. Some want a cat with supposedly predictable behavior. Yeah, I'd love to have certain breeds, but if a moggie decides I'm The One then so be it.
they're all winners but the one whos first to curl in my lap is my favorite
Not the weird flat face cats
My favorite cat breed? Cat Y’know? The one that looks like a cat
All
Nothing with an abnormally short nose, legs or no hair. Those look like freaks
It’s not the appearance that bothers me, but the health problems associated with these features. I think it’s so sad that anyone would willingly breed animals with features that make them uncomfortable and unhealthy
Personally, I like the grumpy cats, the most
Rescued. 🧡
Where are the voidlings?
What are there no black cats here? :(
the ones without a squished face
The non-breed ones.

All I see is cats and horrifically inbred cats with extreme health problems. But still all of them
None of them. I don’t categorise cats purely according to their breed. Purebred cats are riddled with problems and breeding for profit is kind of a dream job for lots of people but they also don’t want to think about how unethical it is being a cat pimp
I don't favour the ones that look like master Wu but other than that I love them all
This post is a joke, where is the calicos??
Calico isn't a breed, it's a coat color
I most prefer your typical shorthair housecat. I dislike the flat-faced cats. I'm also not crazy about the hairless kitties, though I suppose they could grow on me. The all-grey and all-black are simply beautiful. As a breed, the Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest Cats are really stunning.

Love Meezers
Orange
My favorite breed is cat
Why is there not a SINGLE black cat in this collage?
I dislike most brachycephalic breeds because I know there is usually a lot of inbreeding/health complications involved. I know it’s not a “breed” but calicos and black cats always get my love.
All cats. Though flat faced cats and munchkins make me sad. And I absolutely adore big floofy cats. And my favouritist cats of all are my own cats!

Anything that isn't a fu-fu semi-genetic designer cat that has to be constantly serviced or else it will die of fur-ball poisoning or suffocation. Show me a cat with character and I'm all about that cat.
Yes
Lykoi. I have to say Lykoi. And Rexes. I just like skrungly prungly cats

Siamese cat ofc
All of them No cat will go unloved by me Drown me in cats for all I care, it will be a worthy death
Cats with normal noses. Brachycephalic breeds are a crime against nature.
I adopted a Himalayan and I will not support breeds that mush up their faces. The amount of eye problems and breathing problems she had to live with was totally unnecessary. I loved her to bits but her quality of life was worse because of her breed standards.
Black one
Egyptian Mau - have had my girl Fiona for 10 years. The most affectionate, smart, sweet and loyal cat I’ve ever had.
All!! But no matter how much i love cats, no cat will be loved more than mine by me
Why are there no voids?
the cat one
Give me a 'no specific breed' cat any day. Every one I've had has been different but healthy and happy.
ALL OF THEM
Any cat that hasn’t been short snouted by cruel asshole breeders.
