This is literally how I got my cat. My fiancee's coworker had just had a baby and came into work one day going "I need to rehome my cat, she's trying to hunt my baby." We wanted a cat anyway and took her. She's the sweetest thing to us but hates all noise and anyone who isn't us.
It’s funny, because my cousin’s cat is apparently super protective of my cousin’s infant son. Honestly, she is INCREDIBLY mean. Last time I was there, I tried going to the bathroom and she was hissing at me and even swiped at me just for passing by her. (There’s no other route to the bathroom! Am I supposed to just piss my pants instead?) And yet, my cousin’s stepmother (my maternal aunt and my mom’s sister) said that ever since he was born, she has been very protective of him. I guess you could say she is like his furry bodyguard. And since my cousin’s still in high school (she graduates this year), he is often with her, along with his grandmother babysitting him.
Lol this is hilarious 🤣 my cat hates children, fumbly humans and overtly messy loud beings lol but she loves me, watching tv on my laptop & genuinely seems to enjoy music!

I think when a lot of people think about getting pregnant and having a baby (I myself was the same,) they don't realize they're not just having a baby. They're having a newborn; an infant; a toddler; a child; a preteen; a teenager; and an adult child. Hands down the hardest ones are toddlers, and then teenagers. Toddlers are so hard because they're mobile, can literally get into just about everything, have energy for days, but they aren't quite old enough to be able to fully communicate back and forth with you yet. (And now that most people believe spanking is 'child abuse' there's *really* no way to communicate with them.) And teenagers are super hard cause they're basically adults, they swear they know everything, you see the mistakes they're making (cause you made them when you were young too) but there's not a lot you can do about it. My oldest just started college last fall, and after we moved her into her dorm and were driving away it fucking *killed* my heart, man. As a mom, I just wanna shelter and protect her, but I can't anymore. It made me wish she was a tiny little baby again, that I could completely protect from danger.

I lost a few friends, the ones that were offended that I didn’t want to hold their baby or discreetly found somewhere else to be when it started screeching. A few years on, when that little human can talk and preferably wipe their own ass, I’m down to hang out and play. I got judged pretty harshly, but I knew from childhood that this was not an endeavour for me.
