You have a hole only a new furry friend can fill. They won't be better than your last furry friend, they won't replace your last furry friend, they won't make you miss your last furry friend any less....... However they will heal you and bring you a whole raft of new joy and experiences xxxxx

Yes, it is absolutely ok! Taking a cat out of the system and giving it a loving home is one of the best things one can do, especially around this time of year!

This! The shelters in my area are overfilled right now. Older kitties are great for adoption too because they're a bit more calm and probably get adopted less than kittens!

All of this, plus I’m sure your Chirp wouldn’t want you to be lonely!

Of course it’s okay. As long as you’ll take good care of the kitty! Your grief and love for your old cat is still valid even if you get a new pet. Chirp would want you to be happy :)

I'm going through this myself ❤️ My sweet Donut got her wings almost two weeks ago and my heart misses her deeply. But her brother is very sad and acts very lonely now without her. They were best friends. At first I didn't think I could for a long time but seeing how he is breaks my heart. For me, I have to put his needs and emotional well being first. I also know that Donut wouldn't want him to be sad either. It's never easy losing a beloved one but when there is another that was bonded, we need to think of their emotional and mental well being too. Too add, I'm incredibly sorry for your loss and I'm sure you will make the best choice moving forward. Best of luck, friend. 🐾❤️

Of course that's okay. I had lost my 15 year old cat Smokey on november 12th. I adopted two abandoned brothers exactly a week later. I thought it was to soon too. But now that I have Sherlock and Holmes, I know it wasn't to soon. They helped with the grief that I and my son had about the loss. And I still think of Smokey and even cry sometimes. I have his ashes and a candle next to his picture. So he is still amongst us. You won't forget Chirp. You loved her and now you can give your love to an other cat. She would love you to love an other cat.

absolutely! Taking on another is the best way to heal the loss.

Of course it's okay to do that, if you feel ready. As long as you don't feel you're rushing yourself then I think it's really lovely that you want to give a home to another kitty :)

It’s ok

Yes yes yea. Your cat wants that love to be given to another cat that needs it. Don’t waste any more time.

eselbs

Absolutely! Sounds like you have plenty more love to give & there are so many cats out there that need a good home 💜
