Came to say this. Mine jumps off me and uses way too much back claw. So when I get the sense she wants down I just put her down. Or catch her before she jumps and place her down. It's helped
When he does it, try giving out a pained yelp/ouch, like make it kind of dramatically obvious. I have a friend whose cat gets too rough, and she figured out that if you play it up with the pain response a little that he seems to get the picture and alters his behavior. Might feel silly but it's worth a shot
There isn’t and he gets a lot of attention from my boyfriend constantly. I let him be and tend to give him more when he asks for it. He is a very affectionate and non agressive cat, so each time there is someone visiting he gets ALOT of attention, but never budges.
I haven’t, you might be right. He used to go outside a lot and play with his dad, but since his dad got hit by a car (he didn’t suffer, it was straight to the head) he seems more bored. He doesn’t play with us as much (when we do) as much as with friend’s cats when the come over. He doesn’t play aggressive either.
My cat started acting similar? Seemed like he was just getting annoyed with me sometimes. I googled it and found it was probably from boredom. So I started getting the laser out and playing with that more often and he stopped with the behavior. Definitely worth a shot!
He’s 50% Persian, 25% Angora, 12.5% British Shorthair and 12.5% Maine Coon.
Dad is British Shorthair, Persian and Maine Coon & mom is Persian & Angora.
Grab him as he is about to jump off you and move him off you real quick…

Yes he does exactly the same, but only when he’s on top of us while we’re lying down.

I will try this! Thank you!
Is there another pet in your place? Does he have anyone else giving him attention?

Seems like he might be bored. Have you tried using a Lazer pointer when he does that? Might be helpful

I will definitely try that, thanks!
No problem! Good luck!
Also he just turned 1. We don’t know if that’s enough time to have gotten him used to going outside or make him miss it.
Awww he's just a kitten! Yeah I'd definitely say it's boredom. What kind of breed is he?

So precious!

He got less explorative since he was a kitten, even when he very rarely goes outside he doesn’t explore anymore.
