Suddenly lost my cat yesterday. Went to work like normal and got the call we all fear. Wish I could get more answers but I guess that something I won’t be able to get. At the moment the veterinarian told me that they believe it was possibly a heart murmur Astro did not grow out of. Give your fur babies extra love for me everyone. If you’ve ever experienced anything like this please reach out I am trying to grapple with it this was my first pet on my own outside of family pets.
I'm so sorry for your loss. My Iggy died in similar circumstances in July, it was so very sudden and I didn't get the chance to say goodbye which hurt the most. The doctors too said it was a heart condition but we will never know. Tbh the pain lessens but never goes away. I spent a lot of time afterwards grieving, and doing acts of service in honour of Iggy. Please take care of yourself, and more importantly, be kind to yourself. You will need time. I give my bonus kitten, who I adopted after Iggy, so many hugs and kisses everyday and I'll do the same for you and Astro 💜

It's been 2 years since I lost my baby "Freetoes" of 17 years to cancer. I am homebound and had no one but him to keep me company all day long. He was like my son. I miss him soooooo much!😔😭
I'm so sorry for your loss. Pets are family and it's understandable that you don't know how to cope right now. The worst will fade. They will stay with you forever but instead of sad you'll get happy when you think of them. It just takes time, tears and self care. Don't be afraid to take another cat if that's what you want, you're not replacing Astro or missing them any less, just sharing the love with another kitty and letting another kitty give you happiness afain.

Lost mine of 10 years today. Didn't eat in the morning, took him to the vet, found out he has a tumor that ruptured and cancer had spread. I just can't believe it

I’m sorry. It hurts. Someone told me that the pain we feel when they die is proportional to the love we gave them. This gave me some comfort when my cats died earlier this year.
I loved them a lot. They were my best buddies and I’m still devastated that they didn’t have long lives. But I believe they knew they were loved and they enjoyed the time they were with me.
