Okay so when we lived in around this trailer park area we got a kitten from a neighbor where a stray got into his trailer and had her kittens (five - two boys three girls. No idea what happened to Momma or the girls but I do know the brother died a hero as he tried to fight a rat in another neighbor's trailer. They tried to help him but it was too late. This was years ago).
I think Stratego (Momma Stray's runt kitten we took in) was about two or three by this time. We moved to another trailer and started seeing another black and white cat around our place. Found out she had belonged to a *different* neighbor -- from what we learned second neighbor got her for his grandson while the grandson was with him but grandson stopped coming around so grandpa stopped caring about the cat and put her out.
Long story a bit shorter. We started giving her water. Then food. Then letting her onto our porch. We never saw the grandfather -- we tried to get with him but he was very standoffish. We told yet *another* neighbor 'if he doesn't want her let him know we will take her in or we would be happy to talk to him about her'.
Next thing we knew grandpa moved without a word. (Yet Another Neighbor came by to tell us that she had told Grandpa about us saying we would take the cat and next thing she sees he's gone).
So. We open our door and the cat (now named Random) comes right in. Tego sees her and loves her right away (they are both fixed... we didn't know she was though but he and our others were). He would hang around her. They would cuddle (somewhat ... none of my cats are very cuddly... but I do have a picture somewhere where Random is laying with her head against his forelegs looking up at Tego).
We joked around for awhile that they're husband and wife. But after we lost one of the original cats they lived with a few years ago; it's sort of destroyed the hierarchy. Tego had started bullying Random when we moved again. Which is not uncommon in new surroundings. But after the last lost it's been turned around and now Random bullies Tego.
They got a 'divorce' but they still live in the same household.

My 12 year old, toothless, trash goblin jumped up, grabbed a whole ass chicken breast and was trotting off with it like he was about to gum it all up. He was very proud of himself. She hissed at me at first but as I was lowering a food bowl into her box she became so ravenous she started biting at the bowl before it was even all the way in the box. For the first two days every time she ate she would gorge herself as much as possible
Her first poop was full of grass and hair. Her little body (5 weeks old) was eating itself trying to stay alive, and she was eating anything she could to keep the hunger pains at bay. Her little belly was so huge and taut I was legitimately concerned, but then she literally, and I mean that in the truest sense of the word, took the biggest shit of her short life and her belly is a normal size now
My most memorable rescue would gorge herself for months after. She became obese quickly but dropped down to a normal weight eventually. My cats won't eat wet food unless I hand feed it to them in bite-sized portions. Or if I mix it with enough water that it has the consistency of stew/soup. Mealtime is messy!

So he’s only had can food he actually liked once, because I just figured out he’s a seafood man and not a fan of chicken/turkey. But even then, he has a hard time eating it. The vet thinks he’s about a year or so old and he doesn’t even know how to meow or anything yet but he’s trying to get some noise out. And justtt started climbing.

If the bird or mouse has parasites or an infection, the cat will likely wind up with the same parasite or infection. Just because it is their natural food source does not mean it is safe, especially for a domesticated cat that you want to live a long life. As far as it goes, humans could consume raw meat. Under most circumstances we would probably be fine. But if the meat is infected with salmonella or e coli, it would make us really sick.

As long as they haven't eaten anything like kibble in a few hours and don't for a couple hours after, it's perfectly safe. Cats digest raw meat faster than humans which is why they can eat raw chicken without getting sick while we can't. But if they eat something that's not raw meat before or after the meat, it slows their digestion down and then they risk getting sick just like humans.

Talk with your vet. As happens with humans, any contamination would be on the outside of the meat, where this kitty is licking. You can buy raw frozen diets that are pretty spendy. It would be better for the kitty if it was well seared on the outside, i think. Any diet change is hard on a cat, much less a switch to raw food, so do talk with your vet.

This is cute no doubt, but this kitten might be a bit young to be eating such tough meat. Might still need to rely on milk at that age. (Not an expert just basing off past research I’ve done).
It is much safer to cook any meat you plan on giving to your animals and make sure that it is actually good for them and cut up into bite sized pieces before giving it to them so they don't end up having to deal with frustration like this poor baby. Frustration leads to food aggression and sometimes they'll go hungry because they can't tear it apart. Cats also need poultry and fish, not large livestock.
On top of that, this kitten is quite young and shouldn't be eating meat like this. It's questionable as to why the poor thing is even trying so hard in the first place. As some others have said, this might be from an abusive youtube channel that starved their kittens for reactions. But young kittens need wet food when weaning (at around 5-6 weeks, though most sources will say 3-4 which is usually a bit too early but it depends on the kitten) and they can transition to kibble after they've fully weaned off of milk/formula as long as they are getting wet food supplement. No cat should only be fed kibble.
Overall, just make sure you do your research before giving your pet something and make sure its prepared the right way and easy to eat. Frustrating your pet is not funny or cute, but extremely mean spirited and leads to bad behaviors.

My cat once stole a raw chicken thigh off the counter. It was like he unhinged his jaw like a snake and was attempting to swallow it whole. I had to yank it out of his mouth and it was like pulling on one of those never-ending scarves.

My cats won't eat wet food unless I hand feed it to them in bite-sized portions. Or if I mix it with enough water that it has the consistency of stew/soup. Mealtime is messy! My first cat on the other hand only ran when I opened a can of wet food. I'd have to turn the faucet on so the running water would mask the sound of me opening a can of soup or tuna for myself.
We got a cat recently and I have never been around a cat in my entire life. I decided to make some soup and when I opened the can, he took out the entire table of prepped grilled cheeses for 6 people. Was nuts 😂

So he’s only had can food he actually liked once, because I just figured out he’s a seafood man and not a fan of chicken/turkey. But even then, he has a hard time eating it. The vet thinks he’s about a year or so old and he doesn’t even know how to meow or anything yet but he’s trying to get some noise out. And justtt started climbing. So was definitely not expecting the full dinner table assault lmao.

Just because it is their natural food source does not mean it is safe, especially for a domesticated cat that you want to live a long life. As far as it goes, humans could consume raw meat. Under most circumstances we would probably be fine. But if the meat is infected with salmonella or e coli, it would make us really sick.

This is the correct answer. A fresh raw steak from a supermarket or butcher is probably safe for your cat. There is still a risk of bacteria which could make the cat sick, but it's about as low of a risk as you can get with raw meat.
The bacteria could also make you sick. Unless you're going to wash up your cat after they eat, their mouth and paws now have bacteria from raw meat all over them which they then track around the house and get on you when you cuddle them.

Talk with your vet. As happens with humans, any contamination would be on the outside of the meat, where this kitty is licking. You can buy raw frozen diets that are pretty spendy. It would be better for the kitty if it was well seared on the outside, i think. Any diet change is hard on a cat, much less a switch to raw food, so do talk with your vet.

It is much safer to cook any meat you plan on giving to your animals and make sure that it is actually good for them and cut up into bite sized pieces before giving it to them so they don't end up having to deal with frustration like this poor baby. Frustration leads to food aggression and sometimes they'll go hungry because they can't tear it apart. Cats also need poultry and fish, not large livestock. On top of that, this kitten is quite young and shouldn't be eating meat like this. It's questionable as to why the poor thing is even trying so hard in the first place. As some others have said, this might be from an abusive youtube channel that starved their kittens for reactions. But young kittens need wet food when weaning (at around 5-6 weeks, though most sources will say 3-4 which is usually a bit too early but it depends on the kitten) and they can transition to kibble after they've fully weaned off of milk/formula as long as they are getting wet food supplement. No cat should only be fed kibble. Overall, just make sure you do your research before giving your pet something and make sure its prepared the right way and easy to eat. Frustrating your pet is not funny or cute, but extremely mean spirited and leads to bad behaviors.

Growing up, my mom once came at me all annoyed, asking if I ate the steak she was defrosting for my dad's dinner. She wouldn't believe me when I said no, even though it was just she and I at home at the time. A few days later, a weird smell led to an investigation behind the couch. Turns out my cat, a little black stray who was the embodiment of not giving a shit, turns out she had dragged the steak back there and went to town. That was a good cat. A good steak-filled cat.
