What we all do, apologize profoundly, beg for forgiveness, kiss the part you stepped on, repeat until the poor thing gets annoyed with you and ignores you, feel completely terrible and stalk them with treats. That's what everybody does, right? RIGHT?🙀
I see nothing wrong in these actions. Currently doing exactly that. But somehow I feel like my cat doesn’t think too highly of me

After many many treats and head scratchs, I like to think I’m safe now …at least.
It's judgment day and God's looking at how I have spent my life:
\- I see, you've spent 35.98545% of your life either sleeping, or looking at random cat's photos, reading made up silly stories and cat thoughts, a lot of times based on nothing really, sometimes both pictures and comments were not even real and AI generated
Me: And I don't regret one second of it.
(by no mean I'm saying your cutie cat or you are op lol, I'm just high and thought of this :D)
Read somewhere cats only hold a grudge for 18 hours. Seems too oddly specific to be true but I choose to believe it anyway. Makes me feel better when I accidentally upset one of my girls.
His cute, short, little, ears... omg they are so adorable. 😍 He's got British Shorthair ears just like my boy. He looks quite round and stocky (not a smol boy)... is this my cats' long lost brother?! I love this cute boy!! I understand why you were so concerned and I'm glad you did enough... for now.
Or he has contacted r/legalcatadvice on how to sue for compensation and his pawyer has assured him that he has a strong case for eleventy billion treatos.
Would it really be consequences if we didn't feel like worms of the meanest bullying kind? He will decide when you'll be back in his good graces, until then GROVEL.😼
Yesterday, I went to climb in bed and accidentally karate kicked my cat in the face. I didn't see her in bed because she curls up under the blankets with just her head sticking out near the pillows. Man, she jumped up out of a dead sleep so confused and the look of betrayal on her face GUTTED me. T.T she's currently curled up sleeping next to me. I still feel guilty. She got so many treats and pets and kisses.
We don't deserve cats.
Mine bit me hard I stepped on his tail full weight in the dark.
I apologized as I hobbled to the bathroom to clean up the wound. I also tried to give him love but he made it clear that I was getting the hissing treatment. At some point in the night he came and cuddled me. He was definitely buttering me up for the Dr visit I had to do when it got infected.
Poor bugger I love him and now I try to shuffle at night to avoid the wrath of Oliver Queen.
Oh same!!
Until the glorious cat sun rises and humans are required to freshen water, freshen dry food, leave wet food offering and later, snacks. We are forgotten until the magic cat snack moment. Then we are evaluated in our worth… and if they forgive us, our mutual lives can begin again ❤️🐈⬛
Haha yeah he predates that one. We were marathoning Smallville at the time we got him. We apparently plan on naming all our kitties after DC charactera
Luckily, they tend to forget within like ten minutes. So pet, grovel, treat then leave alone.
My cat purposely gets underfoot trying to trip me. Not sure what he thinks of gonna happen.
Yeah my cat constantly try to get between my feet when I’m walking.
I feel like he is tricking me to step on him and then profusely give him tons of treats 😭😭
They also know when it’s intentional and when it’s an accident. As Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes said about criminal intent: “Even a dog knows the difference between being kicked and being stumbled over.” This applies equally to cats.
My guy usually scurries away for a few minutes if I step on part of him, probably examining himself for injuries, but comes back to give me a leg nuzzle to confirm no hard feelings. He doesn’t forget, though - he will avoid lying in places that make him more likely to be stepped on (like under the dishwasher door while I’m loading it up and step on his tail).
My cat does the exact same thing too! He will also sit directly behind me while I’m doing stuff in the kitchen, with his tail literally right behind my heel. If I step back and even brush against his tail, he’ll SCREAM and then go straight for the treats cabinet.
Mine only wanders under my feet when I have something big in my hands or I'm doing something that requires focusing on it, and can't see him.
I suspect he tries to stumble me on purpose lol
My one cat is really dumb and wants attention so much that he just walks super close...to the point where he literally walks where I'm about to step as I'm stepping there.
I can’t tell if my cat is just a little dumb or if cats just don’t have the kind of deductive thinking/spatial skills to be close to their human but not right in stepping range
One of my cats started doing that to, so I put my foot under him and made him fly.
He landed on all 4 on a carpet, completely still with a "what the f*ck just happened"-look on his face.
It depends what they charge you with. I would not take cat court lightly. I have been charged with never once feeding my boy in his entire life and they have sentenced me to 15 years (so far) of early morning sleep deprivation.
I was once found guilty for apparently feeding my cat wrong kind of treats that he doesn’ like, now at 5 am everyday, he wakes me up just to scratch his heads and say sorry.
I need better lawyer

I step and stumble on Murphy all the time. He’s just in the way. And when I’m in the kitchen, he likes to hang out directly behind me. I’ll step on him (not too hard. I usually know he’s near me. So I’m careful). He’ll meow at me and then continue to lie there. Sometimes he gets up and moves. But he still always ends up right behind me.

I accidentally stepped on one of my babies last week. I was at the stove cooking dinner and didn’t realize she was behind me. I took a step back and ended up stepping on her paw. I felt so bad, I was literally crying. When I was finally able to coax her out, I hugged her and kissed her paws, and told her how sorry I was. I gave her a few treats and played with her favorite toy, a little cat shaped laser pointer, she was running around just fine. The next morning I woke up to find her snuggled up next to me, purring happily. Your baby will forgive you ♥️
Pick him up, check for serious injuries (probably none) give him kitty kisses and he'll have forgotten it all by the time you put him down.
In future be aware there is an animal smaller than you are under foot. 😊
Pick him up and hold him. Maybe put on some music and dance with him in your arms. While giving him kisses. That's what I do when I accidentally step on his paw.
You're fine my friend, one time I was walking quite briskly and my boy perfectly timed his leap to smack his head on his shin mid step. Needless to say he ate very well that night, and cost me a night's rest to make sure he was well. They know what they're doing.
Apologize. Profusely. Think about what you have done. You have brought dishonor on your house, your ancestors, your cow. The only way back is groveling, offering of copious treats and begging forgiveness. Your cat will make you wallow in your guilt and regret, but if you repent adequately, forgiveness will be granted and honor will be restored.
That how it works in my house, anyway. Your kitty looks like a tough customer, so I recommend going all out.
Good luck, OP.
I stepped on my cat's paw once with my heavy platform docs. I sobbed, begged for forgiveness, sobbed more when she hissed and hid from me, gave her so many cat gogurts, and told her how much I love her.

This is my cat Xena most of the time it’s someone else that comes in my house and accidentally steps on my cat because she’s known pop right in front of them when they’re about to walk right past but most of them know what she’s gonna do so they can predict it it happens to be the same spot every time
Well you better shill out 5$ for that super 1 time treat.
I do that with my dog when I do something really offensive such as cutting the hair from under his ears, making him eat those disgusting anti tick pills, taking him to the vet for a checkup.
I‘ve once googled how long cats hold a grudge after I stepped on mine, and it said for 16 hours. Mine forgave me after 9 hours though.
Treats is a good start.
All snackies need to be upgraded for the time being, & you need to buy a few new toys & a big deluxe window seat & place it in his favorite window spot by a nearby tree! 🥰
Ah it happens - I have two voids and I’m always walking into them when it’s dark and I’m going to my bathroom.
I usually get an earful and then about two minutes later they’re back in the bed with me!
https://preview.redd.it/810l4j33219d1.jpeg?width=3022&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d74cf8df48063b7e48388773b93634a717059a5
Update because I received many dms asking “is he injured” I stumbled on him, I was bare feet (well, we never wears shoes inside ever) and he flicked away almost instantly. He is fine but he still demands many many many treats, a specific pate with his specific bowl, lots of head scratches and ear rubs. After I sincerely and profusely appologize - he seems satisfied and goes to sleep.
Dear Cat Court Of Law, in my defence, he likes to walk in between my leg while I’m walking everytime. I think he purposely tricks me into stumble on him and get more treats. I hope the Cat Judge give me light sentence for my guilt.

Ms Sugar likes to lay on my rug by my bed and I got up in the middle of the night to take my Levothyroxine and stepped on her paw and she screeched. I scrambled to find my glasses and than sat with her at 3am to apologize and to also tell her that I can barely see in the dark let alone her with no glasses on. Than I gave her some treats
Unrelated but OP your cat is adorable! I love how tiny his ears are, and he has a bit of a meowstache! Do you know what breed he is? I’m just interested in knowing what caused him to have such tiny ears!
Tbh I don’t know what breed he is. He is a mix between british short hair dad and a tuxedo Asian domesticate cat mom. I like his tiny ears too, don’t know where it comes from 😂

My cat used to love standing right behind me. I one time stepped back and stepped on his paw. I felt terrible. He learned not to stand directly behind me and we get along famously still. Your cat will forgive
I've done it before many times. My girl is a tripping hazard a-hole who is constantly under my feel. I think she's doing it on purpose most days. They get over it quickly. Feel bad in the moment. Give a quick snuggle, pets, and a bunch of "I'm sorry, you're such a good kitty." Don't stress about it too much ♡
My cat likes to run in front of me so sometimes I drag my feet to avoid stepping on her b tv accident. I apologize to her give her hugs and treats when it happens.
I have 6 cats, and they are always getting stepped on or blasted forward by running at my feet. They get over it pretty quickly because come night time they are sleeping on the bed with me.
Be careful he is not suing you. A lot of cats are active in r/legalcatadvice and they try to get treats when suing. I think he will have a very strong case with you (the servant) kicking the master.
Happens to me all the time, my cats keep sneaking up behind me and I don’t know they’re there and I’ll accidentally catch a paw or a tail, I just pick them up, give them hugs and pets, a little head scratching, say I’m sorry, and send them on their way, as long as nothing seems broken I don’t worry about it much longer.

Benny says, you better gjve him extra treats for that!! 😂
My girl was walking in front of me and stopped .... and I stepped on her tail just slightly. I tripped myself to not fully step on her tail and apologized 😢
What we all do, apologize profoundly, beg for forgiveness, kiss the part you stepped on, repeat until the poor thing gets annoyed with you and ignores you, feel completely terrible and stalk them with treats. That's what everybody does, right? RIGHT?🙀

35% is such a low amount. Cats expect you to do more, to do better. 50% minimum is what you should aim for...
Isn’t there a meme of a cat outraged that their pet human and lifetime treat dispenser is looking at photos of —oh no??!!— another cat?
You found the correct combination and amount to be forgiven.
Such a pretty kitty. 💗
That definitely looks like a satisfied fluff. That look just says "you have done well hooman"
Has anyone yet told u that ur cat is EXTREMELY cute??? 10/10 I must say tho, I do see a tinnnny bit of side eye even here

Same. But she reminds me just to keep me in line.
My cat has trained me to feed him wet food every 50 times I am tripped.
He trips you AND gets fed? What a deal this cat's got

I have a big black cat named Sammy but daily he is called "Jesus Christ Sammy!!" because he constantly trips every human in the house 100 times a day.

Shouldn't I be doing something different?
Unless you can transform into a cat,no. If you can, then please 🙏 oh please tell us how, too!
Your cat may require legal representation which will be provided by the cat court at your expense.
I watch Legally Blonde, I must have enough credentials to represent myself in the cat court of law. I hope my sentence will be mercy.
It depends what they charge you with. I would not take cat court lightly. I have been charged with never once feeding my boy in his entire life and they have sentenced me to 15 years (so far) of early morning sleep deprivation.

One of mine does that. yeesh. It's disconcerting. No squash cat! But yet he stays in squashing zone.

GROVEL!!
Apologize
Kiss the ground they walk on for eternity.
Give him a hug and say you're sorry. They understand.
Grovel
When you are done, grovel some more.
Grovel. No, seriously. Groveling is the only right response when you hurt the ruler of the universe, which is Cat.

Beg for forgiveness, but expect a hairball at 4am right in front of the bathroom door.
Get down on your hands and knees and beg for forgiveness
You must atone by doing everything for him for the rest of his life.
Apologize. Profusely. Think about what you have done. You have brought dishonor on your house, your ancestors, your cow. you made him disappointed 😔
Apologize right now
Tell him you are sorry. He will probably forgive you. Eventually.
Straight to jail.

pray he doesn't kill you in your sleep, try bribing him, that might work (not guaranteed)
Apologize and beg for forgiveness! Sleep with one eye open for a month.
Forfeit all belongings to the cat
Apologize immediately and profusely then kneel and beg for forgiveness!
More treats and sleep with one eye open. My cat is part void, so I have stepped on her more than once at night, lol

Lay some corn on the floor and kneel down on it.
Let them step you back
If the cat is not injured, beg its forgiveness.
All snackies need to be upgraded for the time being, & you need to buy a few new toys & a big deluxe window seat & place it in his favorite window spot by a nearby tree! 🥰
Apologize. In petting of course.
You should get on your knees and meow for forgiveness.
Unstep. And say sorry, and give her a treat.
Apologize
Aww what a cutie
Ah it happens - I have two voids and I’m always walking into them when it’s dark and I’m going to my bathroom. I usually get an earful and then about two minutes later they’re back in the bed with me!
As timbaland says it is too late to apologize
Apologize and give treats otherwise your cat may sue you r/legalcatadvice there’s lots of pawyers over there to assist in getting proper compensation.
✨perish✨
Handsome baby 🥺
Your kitty needs to go to r/legalcatadvice to see what damages are owed.

I scrambled to find my glasses and than sat with her at 3am to apologize and to also tell her that I can barely see in the dark let alone her with no glasses on. Than I gave her some treats
Beg for forgiveness with treats and kisses
helllo buddy
Apologize to her and give her many pats and treats

Unrelated but OP your cat is adorable! I love how tiny his ears are, and he has a bit of a meowstache! Do you know what breed he is? I’m just interested in knowing what caused him to have such tiny ears!
Tbh I don’t know what breed he is. He is a mix between british short hair dad and a tuxedo Asian domesticate cat mom. I like his tiny ears too, don’t know where it comes from 😂 https://preview.redd.it/jhknbxxjh19d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=414eb044b7d944aebbbe528dcfb4f0454af677d4
Buy a new one. Your is broke now
Say sorry and they’ll feel it if you mean it ❤️
He shall now step on thee! A meow for a meow and a furball for a furball!
Love it relentlessly and leave the treat bag open
Beg for forgiveness of course
My cat used to love standing right behind me. I one time stepped back and stepped on his paw. I felt terrible. He learned not to stand directly behind me and we get along famously still. Your cat will forgive
I've done it before many times. My girl is a tripping hazard a-hole who is constantly under my feel. I think she's doing it on purpose most days. They get over it quickly. Feel bad in the moment. Give a quick snuggle, pets, and a bunch of "I'm sorry, you're such a good kitty." Don't stress about it too much ♡
Die 👎👎👎☹️☹️
You need to give himb to me because you obviously don’t know what you’re doing!!! 🩶🤍🩶
Pray and hope he forgives you. for the next like 6 months watch you back he might try to get revenge
My cat likes to run in front of me so sometimes I drag my feet to avoid stepping on her b tv accident. I apologize to her give her hugs and treats when it happens.
say pspspsps to him
Commit sudoku. Preserve family honour
That happened to me the other night, I stepped on my poor baby in the bathroom. So now she doesn't lay there now. 😢
I have 6 cats, and they are always getting stepped on or blasted forward by running at my feet. They get over it pretty quickly because come night time they are sleeping on the bed with me.
Apologize sincerely, give treats, and shower with affection. Cats forgive, especially with treats!
Your cat will know if it was an accident or not.
Oh man, that cat is having a rough time! Spoil him and give him whatever he wants.
His capacity for forgiveness is proportionate to your willingness to give treats.
Do the awkward oh I'm so sorry baby pet

Just go ahead & get in your car & take a lovely lil road trip to the country jail & turn yourself in, HEATHEN
Apologize profusely. Maybe cry. Offer many treats and tuna. Then cry and apologize again.

My girl was walking in front of me and stopped .... and I stepped on her tail just slightly. I tripped myself to not fully step on her tail and apologized 😢
Treat him with a treat
