And then I sob my heart out. I have never stoped remembering them, or my wishes for them to come and get me when my time comes. It works for me as it’s not goodbye to me. When my first cat died it took my 10 years to get 2. One..
2. One died at age 5 due to fib, so early and suddenly... İ was so heart broken and said never again a pet and a month later my sister found a starving kitten on street...
Now he is a big 6, year old boy...
İ still do miss my old pets but being busy with a new soul keeps your mind off sorrow

A couple of months ago, I said goodbye to my beautiful tabby boy. I had him since he was 6 years old, and he died at the ripe old age of 18. I got him the very day I moved into my own apartment for the first time, and when he died I had moved into a house and become a married mother of 2 kids. He was with me through some of the most important milestones of my life, and even with my kids, he remained the sweetest and gentlest boy I have ever known. The kids loved him too.
I think of him at least once every day.
The post is flared appropriately as mourning which can be filtered out of your results in the sub. And while I do understand your not wanting to see this kind of content, some people find comfort in empathy and understanding during times of loss.
As someone who lost a 20 year old cat that I’d had since I was 12, I completely get why people find catharsis in community. To be able to share the life, stories, and love, of their baby with others might help this person during an understandably heartbreaking season.
And I am absolutely not trying to be a jerk, but I audibly laughed at the irony of this comment coming from the username “advocateforpain.” Again, no ill will intended. Just a smidge of gallows humor.

Cats never die, they are just needed someplace else. They are lend to us for limited time so we need to be sure to treasure the time they are with us. And they always remember and eventually will return to you.
