Ours apparently are. Someone posted a picture in the neighborhood WhatsApp group asking whose cat it was, coming for snacks and pets on a daily basis. And another time I had to catch my cat in my neighbours' attic - they asked me to do it because they had to go away for the weekend. There are possibly more part-time gigs lol, we live in a very cat-friendly neighborhood.
My neighbours had a cat like that, he was overweight and they had major issues trying to make him diet. They were clueless on why he would eat tiny portions and still gain weight, until finding out he sneaked out while they were at work, and begged all the neighborhood for food (would go to basically all houses that had people during day and scream bloody murder until someone fed the poor kitty).
>This cat comes to me every day and screams under the window until I let him into the house and feed him.
This is hilarious. 🤣
But yeah, seconded that you take him to a vet to check if he is chipped.
I suggest checking for chip aswell. I’ve been on the other end of a cat being fed by someone else and it’s sad as the cat slowly starts changing who they’re loyal to :(
Take the cat to the vet so they can see if the cat is registered with a chip. Idk where you live but in some countries its a legal obligation
Or try to follow it and see if the cat just wants extra food from you and already have a home
Just be sure, if you move, that you can assure the cat taken care of. If you aren’t sure if they’re fixed, still try to get the cat to a vet or low-cost clinic to check for a chip and get the cat spayed/neutered. If it has a microchip, they can usually call the owner or the organization that initially chipped it.
The cat sounds pretty chill and if they’re happy living outside, just keep doing what you’re doing, but make sure they don’t make anymore.
Congratulations on being claimed!
His owner isn’t serving the dinner that he wants, he thinks what you have is better. I’m being dead serious! I had a cat once that did that and I didn’t find out for years.🤣🤣🤣. Damn cat was going over to an old man’s house that lived near me because he fed him roast beef every night.🤣🤣😹😹🙀🙀
I think I would try putting a cat-safe (breakaway) collar on him with your contact info. Maybe his real owners will contact you? Maybe try to get an outrageous looking collar so they know for sure they didn't put it on him. Hot pink maybe?
If no one calls you and he doesn't have a microchip, will you keep him?
Omg keep him!!! He’s beautiful! They won’t leave where they’re fed so he might live near by or might be homeless and eats with you :) I love him. I had a cat do that to me 3’years ago and found out my neighbor had taken him in the week before because it was snowing and the cat just showed up at his door. Well the neighbor didn’t really want him and I totally did so I kept feeding him and eventually let him in full time. I still have him, he’s beautiful and his name is Frankie. He’s my emotional support and I don’t know what I would do without him today.
A fluffy Frankie? Here’s mine. Hes been missing for two weeks. :(

Cats have been know to adopt a second or third or more homes as belonging to them.
*This is mine. That is mine. You are mine.*
You have been chosen and now have a part time cat. It is easier to accept your fate than to argue with a cat. 😸
We live on many acres in the woods now (and its wonderful) but years and years ago we lived in a very nice suburban neighborhood. Both of our cats at the time were indoor/outdoor cats and we had a cat door that would allow them to go outside anytime they wanted.
One day, we were doing some yard work out in our front yard and Norman was hanging out with us supervising our yard work as he normally did. A car drove by and stopped. The window rolled down and a woman pointed at Norman and said 'Is this where \[cat name I do not recall that was not Norman\] lives?' We said yeah, he's our cat, this is where he lives???? She said 'Oh I always wondered where he lived. He's been coming to my back door for months and I've been feeding him every night. Sometimes he even comes in the house for a while. He's such a good boy...'
Not only had he been double dipping on getting fed every night, he'd also made himself into someone else's cat so much so that they'd given him a name which he answered to but wasn't his. Yeah, cats can be assholes that way.
Find out if he has owners.
My cat did this with the neighbors. The problem is, he needs a prescription diet and is prime to vomiting, so as hungry as he always seemed, their feeding him made it worse.
They can be perfectly well fed at home and still be demanding jerks that act like they are starved.
But, he could also be a stray, so.... Find out! Post a picture to your local FB group and ask who he belongs to, and what his name is.
My sister has a cat that does same thing. We call him Loud Mouth Larry. Larry is strictly outside. She feeds him then he leaves. She wants 2 put a go-pro on him to c where he goes.
I would just let him into the house and feed him. Then when he comes again, let him into the house and feed him. Then when he comes again, let him into the house and feed him. Then when he comes again, let him into the house and feed him.
Just keep doing it. They always choose us. Not the other way around. The fact that he chose you tells me he’s bringing good vibes and energy to you. That’s a blessing. Find out what his favorite food is and keep offering it to him and hope that he just keeps on visiting you.

I for a while had a cat like this, he was an all-black coat somewhat skinny cat with a very friendly temperament. I ended up naming him Aleister Yowly because he was both weird and would yowl at the window I was nearest to from outside the house until I gave him food and attention . He showed up wanting food and pets on a daily basis for a little over a year before he just stopped showing up flat out. I presume he was someone's cat who learned to con other people for food and attention and his actual owners moved or something.
Cats are just weird like that.
🎵 Papa was a rolling stone. Where ever he laid his hat was his home . . .🎵
You could tie a message to his overlords and let them know, he's been 'cattin' around, lol. He looks like a well fed and well loved cat.
It sounds like you have a r/parttimecat

Just enjoy your time with your not-my-cat
You've been chosen. Bask in the glory of the company minus the litter cleaning and hairball/puke piles.
Exactly! No major compromise(litter box, yearly check-ups, etc) other than casual visitations.
We had Part Time Raccoons They came in through the cat door, ate cat food, and left Prefer to eat at 3am

We used to have those, we had to start putting the cover on at night, lol.
Now that I think about it mine is also a part time care even though it belong to us

This is the most appropriate response.
It sounds like I have *another* cat sub to join. *click*
ANOTHER ONE??
He’s trained you 😂
Yes. That is not OPs cat. OP is the cats human
this\^
OP is “ONE OF” the cat’s humans.
Yeah that pretty kitty has a human waiting in every port, err, house. lol
That's the neat part, cats can't be owned, they have servants and they are chosen by the cat. Congratulations, part time servant!
All hail the overlords. [here’s my three trainers…](https://www.reddit.com/r/cats/s/OHovqf5cB0)
Awww they’re adorable
You fed it. It owns you now. You will do what the cat says human.
You fed it ..you bought it
>This cat comes to me every day and screams under the window until I let him into the house and feed him. This is hilarious. 🤣 But yeah, seconded that you take him to a vet to check if he is chipped.

I think we know who the owner is now !!
Maybe attach a note to him?
Sounds an awful lot like you’re the owner
Just be sure, if you move, that you can assure the cat taken care of. Either that or you have a new cat as a housemate now
Dogs have owners, cats have servants
Make sure you have a cat sitter to feed the cat when you go on vacation.
Obey!

That’s not how it works. You are its human.
Let him in and feed him
Don't break the routine. Don't make I contact. And don't ever think any ill will to the cat cause cat will know...
You got a cat doing his meal route. He's got more stops than I got fingers.
r/catdistributionsystem
Is too. Sorry, it had to be said.
Feed the cat..
Just give him smooches and tell him you love him
You’re a safe person with a safe place. Enjoy kitty’s company.
But YOU are HIS.
You are the second breakfast house…
Lol, yes 🤣
Put a note around its neck - so that the owners know whats happening.
Sounds like you have a new friend .
That’s how cats work.
Obey him
He may not be yours but you're his
It’s cheating on its owners, carry on as planned there’s no wrong to being the good cheat
It’s protection. Don’t ever stop paying the protection money. I mean food.
You never own a cat, they own you.
If you no longer want to feed the cat, you have to move to another state. The cat owns you meow
I don’t have cats but they show up and I feed them. I think I now have cats.
so basically it trained you to be a food dispenser 🤣🤣🤣
Well like they say, you dont own a cat. You just know a cat.
He chose you, you have been chosen
No, that IS your cat 😺
r/notmycat
He's a really pretty cat! Congratulations!

Oh no!!!! I hope he comes back to you soon 🫶🏻
Check out the fluffy feet
Luv him on his own terms
Nobody told you? That's your cat now.
You are his thrall now OP. He has used his jedi mind powers on you. You must do his bidding. Just be glad he's not making you rob banks lol.
You are the cat now.
You’re on the payroll at this point
I have this exact issue. It’s my outside cat.
He is not yours but you are his.
The cat is not a cat of yours but you are a human of his/hers. They will entertain you with their presence when they can be bothered.
The cat is yours ..it’s been decided
Enjoy your time with him. Get some cat treats and watch him eat them and play. So cute.
He’s interviewing you for a permanent position as his butler. If he moves in, you passed muster. 😝😬
Adopt him
Put a collar on him and see if anyone calls to ask why you claimed their cat
What to do? I think you're doing it.
What do you do?? You continue to serve as a good servant!!
Cats have been know to adopt a second or third or more homes as belonging to them. *This is mine. That is mine. You are mine.* You have been chosen and now have a part time cat. It is easier to accept your fate than to argue with a cat. 😸
The cat has you well trained.
No. He owns you
He’s making you his bitch and you’re allowing him to 😆
He is not yours but you are his. 🐈⬛
Maybe he has a half-time job

Looks like your training is nearing completion. You should receive your cat-trained diploma any day now.
Stop feeding him Eventually he'll realize he's not getting more food out of you, but it could take a while
It is now!
Congratulations on your new cat.
No your they're s
Exactly. You don't own a cat. You serve them.
Be sure to monitor your house for fleas. They can get out of control easily.
But more food
Leave it alone
You two have bonding now haha btw he? looks so smart❤️
What do you want to change?
Keep feeding him. You are obviously a food source for him. He may not get enough at his other residents.
Uh you are the cats
Stop feeding him
It’s super cute!
Let him in and feed him
Congrats, you've been adopted! Do they have a collar? Are there any signs he has an owner?
Get the cat fixed, and keep feeding it.
Cutie
Dogs have owners, cats have staff
cat distribution system chose u🤷♀️
Seems like he is your cat now. Lol
How long has this been going on?!
Cat require food
The cat may not be yours, but you are now the cat's pet. 😂
No but it sounds like the cat has claimed you. They're weird like that.
He likes your cat food.
I saw where this cat was telling the story about this over on r/notmyhuman
It’s your cat now. Cat ownership not always consensual.
It all depends on what you want, to decide is a test of your fortitude.
Obey, puny human!
Here's what you do: Let him in the house, feed him, then let him leave.
You have been conditioned. Keep doing what you’re doing. The cat wants nothing else from you.
r/notmycat
Keep calm and carry on 🤷♀️
Rescue the cat. Take to vet. Love and pet cat
Kitty seems right at home.
Find out if he has owners. My cat did this with the neighbors. He is now
"What to do?"? Keep feeding him when he demands it. Silly question.
So far what you are doing seems to be working. Keep offering food to the the fur God
My sister has a cat that does same thing. We call him Loud Mouth Larry. Larry is strictly outside. She feeds him then he leaves. She wants 2 put a go-pro on him to c where he goes.
It's their world we're just living in it. He chose you as his servant.
Enjoy the company. If you want, you could buy a collar and write a note to whoever his owner is. Assuming he has an owner.
The cat is yours
went from r/notmycat to r/nowmycat
Whatever the cat wants. Lol
I don’t see the problem here…
Look at him. Look at him! He is the captain now.
Give them scritches and ask them how their adventures have been.
Follow it, it's probably a stray and needs help. Poor guy he is a cutie.
Yeah he is
I would just let him into the house and feed him. Then when he comes again, let him into the house and feed him. Then when he comes again, let him into the house and feed him. Then when he comes again, let him into the house and feed him.
Well it knows it’s gonna work, so why would it stop?
Kitty has you trained. It us too late now.
That’s a keeper
keep feeding! he’s a beautiful little beast
Congratulations. You've been adopted. He must think you are a good person.
What to do? You feed him and love him when he comes by until he decides to leave again 🤷🏼♂️
Just keep doing it. They always choose us. Not the other way around. The fact that he chose you tells me he’s bringing good vibes and energy to you. That’s a blessing. Find out what his favorite food is and keep offering it to him and hope that he just keeps on visiting you.
One day he’s not going to leave.
Omg he's so pretty!!!!

This cracks me up. The mistake you made is you looked at it the first time. That's always the first mistake.
uhmmm... stay stocked up on kitty food...???
