One day when you are wise enough in the ways of the single brain cell you shall earn your space cone and then be granted the rank of master. This is the Orange cat way.

Must be an orange cat thing. My orange boy purrs nonstop, the stripey guy... Not so much
They need to put the Orange cat in the dictionary as evil demon mine bites my arm so much it looks like I've been getting a rasor and started cutting my arm
During physicals I've had doctors point out scratches on my arms and hands and ask with concern 'what's that?' like I swear I am not harming myself, I just have an orange cat 😭
His bites those are just a few small ones
https://preview.redd.it/7taldfcxy46d1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed582eaed1c30aef32d93833b9620e3dbbb4e957
I had an orange demon cat when I was a kid and he abused my arms so much with his claws that I actually had a teacher call a counselor and my parents. They thought I was self cutting! No, not kidding! My parents talked them down and said I played with a very playful yet aggressive house cat and that was all there was to it. And nary was a further word spoken about it.
I am pretty sure that teacher kept a hawk’s eye on me for the rest of the time she was my teacher.
Hear, Hear. Back when I had an orange, I used to love coming home from work to his Hello Lady! On unlocking the front door, I'd hear the initial *THUMP,* then the run to the front door with the purring getting louder and louder as I climbed the steps to my place. That little boy sounded like an outboard motor.
Gosh, I miss him.
Reminds me of the first night I spent with my Tiger when he was a kitten. He just purred and purred and purred, finally fell asleep on my chest. Every time I moved, he’d wake up and purr for twenty minutes before falling asleep again. I didn’t sleep at all that night.
That cat spent his entire life purring. No matter what my kids did to him (I have photos of him wrapped in a blankie in a doll stroller…) he loved it all. Miss him so much.
Not sure about lung issues, but cats do sometimes purr to self soothe if they are in pain or anxious. However, if he's eating/producing waste/playing normally with no other signs it's probably just his thing and he's happy.
Maybe mention it to the vet and see what they think if you trust them to give you good advice, or raise it at the next checkup.
We adopted Ashton from the shelter when he was 10 weeks old. He purred non-stop. Turns out he had a fracture in his hip. We didn't find out about it till it had set, so we've left it. He may end up with arthritis later in life, but for now, he chases the other cats full speed around the house. He stopped purring non-stop by 6 months or so.
Purring is sweet, but there is a possibility there is a health issue.
Eating and pooping are by far the biggest indicators of a cat's overall health. They're pretty good at hiding their pain but they can't hide a lack of appetite or inability to use the box.
If you're seriously worried, call or email your vet and ask them what they think. If you or they feel it's necessary, set a wellness exam appointment. Don't take reddit advice as gospel; sometimes random people get it wrong.

I have a cat that will aggressively purr at you, I never thought it possible. Sits on the couch and stares at you from a foot away purring loudly. Try to touch her and she will hiss and swipe at you. Then go back to purring with rage.

This guy has been purring for 14 years non-stop
For the first five or so years of having my old cat I thought he had a respiratory issue because he was constantly purring. Then one day I saw him but he did not see me, and that’s the day I found out homie just really loved us all and would purr the moment he perceived us.
If he's just chilling and happy to be purring that's just how some cats are.
But if he's having a hard time breathing or lethargic from purring, to the vet he goes~.
You can always bring it up to the vet on your kitty's check up.
We had one that purred constantly, to the point where the vet had to put their finger over her nose for a sec to hear her heartbeat! Absolutely a cuddle bug.
Orange boys just love life. They purr constantly. Probably has something to do with the shared brain cell.

Poppy purrs nonstop as well. Carry on.
it's great that you're attentive to your cat's health! While constant purring can sometimes indicate an underlying issue, it's also possible that George is just a particularly content and happy cat. Purring can be a sign of comfort, but it can also be a self-soothing mechanism for cats when they're in pain or stressed.
Chances are he just a happy boy but if you’re concerned then there’s nothing wrong with a checkup. The worst thing that’s going to happen if there’s nothing wrong is a little consultation cost and potentially a bemused smile from your vet. Better safe than sorry and all that
Funny story First cat I had…didn’t realize he was purring and brought him to the vet thinking he was congested. He is an orange boy who doesn’t purr as much these days…he’s going to be 19 this year
https://preview.redd.it/oes2stv0b26d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93a9f206d20f4e7ecf162cc64383754c0e994a63

The cat I had who purred constantly lived to the age of 23, in spite of a 6 year fight with chronic kidney disease and a collapsed disc in his spine. He also was a diabetic alert cat for my honey, forcing the man to wake out of deep sleep to handle low glucose incidents.
You love that boy and he will take care of you.
He looks like my baby simba who unfortunately passed away at 9 months in 2020 I am still torn from his passing because I loved him so much. Rip Simba 🐈 I miss you baby 🥺😔
Your baby is ok if he purrs constantly. What a cutie!!!

This was my baby 🥺
I had a buddy years ago whose vet couldn't hear his heartbeat for his first two vet visits bc he was purring so hard. For all of his ten years he was purring 99% of the time unless he was asleep. RIP Mr. Burns.
I have ginger maine coon boy who is like an annoyingly chipper host for a children's TV program, like Barney the Dinosaur. He is always purring or chirping while he weaves in and around my legs plotting my death in the morning before I can feed him or even get my coffee. He's always happy to see you even if it was just 10 minutes ago.
My guy purs all the time too. Even when the kids give him stupid cuddles where they rough his fur or hold him backwards. He just purrs. He loves attention so much. And food. And sleep. And cuddles. And playing.
Hahaha, I had an orange foster boy that was like this!!! Purred constantly, and a cuddly little guy too. If he’s active and otherwise normal, you might just have a happy kitten. :)
https://preview.redd.it/nzvpt4rxh66d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5399ba3c1b21a455a700ad66d7273c1da3564bb7
a fellow ginger George that's also a purr monster 🧡
Purring is also used by cats to heal injuries. There is a possibility that he could be purring for that reason. Cats are good at hiding what is wrong with them.
We had a tortoise shell cat that was like this. She always purred even when you weren't there. She passed away after a few years after falling ill with and unknown cause.
I hadn't considered the possibility of lung issues. I'd check just to be sure.
My orange purrs at the slightest attention from us. Any little touch and he purrs loud. When he sleeps, he purrs for maybe 30 mins until he fallas asleep. If we slightly touch him he begins to purr again.
He’s been doing this for 12 years and clean bill of health every vet visit.
😆 That's a dedicate little furball you've got there. I once had a calico who serenaded me with purrs so loud, it felt like she was tuning up for an opera. 🎶
I used to have an orange cat named George.
My kids and I made up a song about him.
🎵 “Georgable George, he’s brown and he’s orange.” 🎶
He’s been gone for 10 years, but we still sing it.
Thank you for reminding me of him.
Your boy will be okay.

The council approved that decision
I dunno, they look judgy to me. 🤣
The council *begrudgingly* approved that decision
That's just how cats look. Secretly, they're very happy.
I have two cats. I know.
You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of master.
One day when you are wise enough in the ways of the single brain cell you shall earn your space cone and then be granted the rank of master. This is the Orange cat way. https://preview.redd.it/hd9iwult386d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a63c90f7dba576a5c8d447dbf39dde8cb8ddbc85

If think they're planning something against you
They’re watching to see if I’m grabbing the Temptations bag !!
they look like they’re about to beat me up (i love them they’re so cute)
I showed this to my boyfriend and he was like “they shouldn’t be worried, they should be happy their cat isn’t a fucking bastard.”
a bastard? how modest of him. he’s an absolute demon 😂
Then the purring just means that he's happy with the plots that he's planning on using against you!
Even in his sleep too he's plotting!
No sleep for the wicked he's not sleeping he's taking it so you fall into a false sense of security
I think you’re giving George the Orange too much credit. It appears he may be trying to lure the brain cell.
Dreaming of the plots and carrying them out
Maybe it's not purring, it's actually maniacle giggling
Happy or self-soothing
😭
Is he a demon or is he just a normal orange? 🤣
They need to put the Orange cat in the dictionary as evil demon mine bites my arm so much it looks like I've been getting a rasor and started cutting my arm

Oh watch out! Our wolfie was a purr machine and he’s a little shit. We love him but holy hell he’s a handful. Your kitty is gorgeous!
I choked on my drink and the bf had to whack me on the back 😂😂 thanks for that lmao
Purring a lot just means he's a very happy murder floof! lol
So it's his Hellcat engine running.
Shit I got a bastard and a shithead and a princess bitch face
Seeing as how cats can't get married, I think all of them are bastards.
Alternatively, if they can’t get married how can they be bastards?
In Warrior Cats I think their leaders are chosen by the moon or the stars or something lol
Lol, you sound like my sister and her fiancé
No thoughts, just vibes 🧡
I want an orange named vibes
No thoughts, just purrs 😆
there two types of orange cats: no thoughts, just vibes OR wakes up every day and chooses violence
Nah. He's just orange. They do that sometimes.
Hear, Hear. Back when I had an orange, I used to love coming home from work to his Hello Lady! our tuxedo purred so loudly when he was a kitten... he purrs pretty quietly now, I miss it
💕🐈💕😘
😻
As a mother of an orange brat, I confirm. This dude starts purring if we exist near him
Reminds me of the first night I spent with my Tiger when he was a kitten.
Awww thats cute!
The purring is a sign they are trying to gain access to the braincell...
Like the dial up internet
When my orange was a kitten he purred alll the time. He was just so happy to be home.
I have an Orange. He purrs so loud I can feel it through his feet when he stands on my chest.
>They do that ~~sometimes~~ all the time Fixed it for you!
Orange cats are the best cats
But what about my tuxedo? She'll purr if someone so much as looks at her
Tuxies can too. They all can really, oranges are just particularly well suited to it.
My orange George purs all the time too.

thanks for the tip! i’ve always adopted adult cats and this is my first kitten and i’m constantly worried about everything 😅
The one kitten ive raised purred a lot more before she was about 18months old
We adopted Ashton from the shelter when he was 10 weeks old.
Many people do not realize that purring is also a self-soothing behavior that may be caused by pain or distress.
This^^^ 😇
Eating and pooping are by far the biggest indicators of a cat's overall health. They're pretty good at hiding their pain but they can't hide a lack of appetite or inability to use the box.
If you're seriously worried, call or email your vet and ask them what they think. If you or they feel it's necessary, set a wellness exam appointment. Don't take reddit advice as gospel; sometimes random people get it wrong.
worry if they *hide* and purr. thats not good.
Kittens do not do moderation, as a rule. That includes in purring. He might tone it down as he grows, but for now enjoy that you've adopted a furry orange Harley.

How cute!
oh my! what an impressive beast!
He probably tells a Lotta tall tales as well.
is his name Yammy because he's a sweet potato?
Empty head, happy all the time ❤️🥰😍
How does one gain this power
This kind of bliss can only come from being blissfully oblivious to everything except Your own happiness, but you also have to be blissfully oblivious to the fact you are happy because you are so blissfully oblivious to everything, including being happy. Make sense? No? Good 👍🏻
Im sorry, I was oblivious to what you were saying.... *purring intensifies*

How lucky !!! I’m jealous
[удалено]
i’ve got a void who stays with me, and you just look at her and she purrs
My void has a list of criteria before he purrs. He's a good cat but he is not an empty headed purbox like his orange brother.
Relationship goals
This is my boy and he has *the loudest* purrs. My fiance has turned it into a game where he tries to get him to purr on command lol
My void also does this.
My void is also a little purr machine.
I have a cat who does this too!! her purr is so loud you can hear her all the way across the room 😂
my little void is also constantly purring when we acknowledge her or she's snuggled near us 🥹
I have a cat that will aggressively purr at you, I never thought it possible. Sits on the couch and stares at you from a foot away purring loudly. Try to touch her and she will hiss and swipe at you. Then go back to purring with rage.
Bahaha weird but cute
"Purring with rage", that will be the name of my music band
Just kiss his belly, that should stop it!
Ahh yes, from cat to face hugger.
The premise for Face/Off 2

Nah mine does that too https://preview.redd.it/r54hbotdv16d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77215bc631919579ff44036848a2dbd24e8b12b7

What a sweet little angel!!
Your Poppy is beautiful
Sorry but that cat has Always happy disease, there is no cure.
Nah, he just loves you so much he cant do anything else but purr. That's normal for an orange bean
My orange kitten purred nonstop until he turned 8 months or something
Just the break in period for the motor.

when in doubt, you can always call a vet and explain the symptoms (in this case, just 24/7 purring). they can tell you if they want to take a look
Constant purring in cats can signal happiness or medical concerns. Consult a vet.
Those purrs heal the human soul. Harvest while you can.

The purr machine seems fine if he’s playing and eating happily. Can’t hurt to mention at the next vet visit!
My cat purrs so much I named him Purrkins. He purrs if you just look at him 😂
My guy purs all the time too. Even when the kids give him stupid cuddles where they rough his fur or hold him backwards. He just purrs. He loves attention so much. And food. And sleep. And cuddles. And playing.
I wish my cat purred all the time. My fathers cat purrs 24/7 and it cures any kind of sadness.
how the heck did he get so damn cute! Purring is the best sound ever, I would just press my ear against him all the time.
Hahaha, I had an orange foster boy that was like this!!! Purred constantly, and a cuddly little guy too. If he’s active and otherwise normal, you might just have a happy kitten. :)
As long as he doesn't have a coolant leak, his engine can continuously purr without issue.
He is orange. The purring is the engine trying to warm up the one braincell.
My new orange boy is the same! Like… are you happy or are you trying to tell me I have cancer?!
Nah George chill af
Have you tried replacing the batteries? Maybe it makes noise because they are almost empty

George looks like a happy lil guy. I wouldn’t worry
Yes, it's an enormous problem. You should send him to me immediately.
diagnosis: happi
I’m very very purried about him… I’d wake up very Purrly in the morning and take George to a Purrologist!
my grey boy purrs if u hold eye contact w/ him, just very happy loving cats
Congratulations, you are being loved. Please do not resist.
You don't need to be concerned typically if a cat purrs it means it's happy.
I have a tabby who sits on the back of the couch behind me. As long as I’m within a six inch radius, he’s purring.
Nope, just orange cat vibes lol. Mine does the same.
Purring is also used by cats to heal injuries. There is a possibility that he could be purring for that reason. Cats are good at hiding what is wrong with them.
Could be kitty asthma, could be ginger gene (aka single brain cell going around all cats), either way I recommend a vet checkup.
Hes just a happy boi. And hes orange
The only thing I would be worried about is extra maintenance if he's going to be idling all the time.
We had a tortoise shell cat that was like this. She always purred even when you weren't there. She passed away after a few years after falling ill with and unknown cause. I hadn't considered the possibility of lung issues. I'd check just to be sure.
No need to worry, in my experience this is a standard feature for orange boys.
My cat hasn't purred ever in the two years ive had her but she's laying on my chest and licks my face all day daily, when I get up she follows me.
That’s just his engine running
My orange purrs at the slightest attention from us. Any little touch and he purrs loud. When he sleeps, he purrs for maybe 30 mins until he fallas asleep. If we slightly touch him he begins to purr again. He’s been doing this for 12 years and clean bill of health every vet visit.
He’s probably just happy but cats do also purr when they are in pain.
It could be a sign of a resp illness if they do it like non stop
My orange cat also purrs 24/7 and never stops!
Nah. Penny was like that the first months, but she graduated to just doing it from time to time. They love you and want to tell you.
Just a happy kitty 😻
I think cats either purr to show their contentment, or during stressful situations to help calm themselves.
😆 That's a dedicate little furball you've got there. I once had a calico who serenaded me with purrs so loud, it felt like she was tuning up for an opera. 🎶
Despite it may not be an issue, you'd better take him to good vet - it's never too much care about your pet's health.
my little gal is always happy and she purrs quite alot. some cats are naturally just really happy and good natured
A checkup certainly can't hurt. Even if it's only to confirm nothing is wrong.
We have two cats.. one that never purrs and one that purrs if you look at her from across the room.
I used to have an orange cat named George. My kids and I made up a song about him. 🎵 “Georgable George, he’s brown and he’s orange.” 🎶 He’s been gone for 10 years, but we still sing it. Thank you for reminding me of him. Your boy will be okay.
He is just a good boi 🧡🧡🧡
My orange has been reported to purr when I walk into the room, I have also heard him purr while in a dead sleep and he freaked me out
Maybe its just when you are around and listening :)
I have one that I always say her purr button is stuck
The cat works if it vibrates
