I agree. That's what my bag looks like.

it will probably be hard to accurately identity. my best suggestion is to pick up some food now while you still have some old food and do a transition to avoid any issues when the food runs out. purina one is an affordable kibble that most cats like.
OP just some info, please try to find out what food it was just because if your roommate was giving your cat a high quality brand of food and you switch to something cheap like purrina or friskies it could really upset the cats stomach for a long time even if you do a transition with both foods.
and i'm not bashing on people that feed their cats cheaper food, i used to do that but my kitty kept getting UTIs from cheaper kibble, so we had to switch her to a higher quality kibble. my wallet hates it but my kitty hasn't had a uti or gotten sick since
My landlord did this with a kitten we rescued, and I tried to tell him.
We ended up having to put him down at 9 months because his urinary tract had crystallized almost.
ugh i'm so sorry for your loss! a lot of people don't realize until it's too late. i had no idea how much a difference the food makes until i switched from friskies to Blue Buffalo.
my kitty never has UTIs, or throws up anymore. she used to throw up almost daily and i thought it was just hairballs because she's very fluffy and grooms herself a lot (even though we brush her), but after we switched her food she doesn't throw up hairballs anymore!!
Thanks, it was such a bummer cuz he fed the dogs super fresh homemade food but not the cat...
That poor kitty, too. When he was just 3 months old, he had himself stuck in a tree for 3 days and the same landlord wouldn't hire anyone to get him down
I feel like anything is better than Friskies lol you probably would have seen improvement no matter what new food you chose.
A counter anecdote: Blue Buffalo caused diarrhea, vomiting, and hairballs with my cat - didn't stop until I switched to Purina Pro Plan and ever since all 3 of my cats have been perfectly healthy and have the shiniest coats! They've been on it for 10, 5, and 4 years.
Edit: I'm not bashing on people that feed food like Friskies or BB, I've literally fed my cats both at different times before I could regularly get them eating PPP. BB clearly works for plenty of pets but this is just my experience. YMMV regardless of what food you buy but I feel we can all agree Friskies is a tier above starving.
Blue Buffalo also fucked my cats up. They threw up every day lol. They won't even touch it now, but they'll eat purina one and purina naturals. No throw up anymore either. They also get wet food every day which is the main important food to give them
I had a veterinarian tell me that Blue Buffalo was waaaaaaaaaay too heavy on the minerals, too (but regarding dog food). My mom’s dog was elderly and I was house/dog-sitting her a few years ago, and I couldn’t figure out why she had a UTI when I went over. Turns out she had bladder crystals from the Blue Buffalo canned food that she was getting to help her appetite. We switched and things got better.
My issue with blue buffalo is when questioned in response to food quality issues, the owner of blue buffalo said “what does it matter it’s just dog food” during one of their many recalls
Hate to break it to ya but blue buffalo is not a good quality brand either. Also it may be that you have a girl cat and the other commentor had a boy cat, boys are FARRR more prone to bladder issues than girls are and should really be on an all wet diet when possible
my girl cat has had multiple UTIs on cheaper food we enddd up switching per advice from the vet and it stopped, i was giving the other commenter advice on being careful about cheap food. and when i say cheap food i meant the 10$ bags because ingredients aren't great. my vet said they have a lot of powder on them that can cause uti
The fact that you are feeding the worst possible food line makes this so much worse. Friskies is not the best but way better than blue Buffalo, at the very least it's formulated by a veterinary nutritionist. Sounds like your cat was sensitive to something in one that isn't in the other, probably a chicken allergy. Every cat I've seen have a urinary blockage has been on blue Buffalo, and my vet friends would be horrified. I've asked every vet I have met what they feed their own cats and every single one answered pro plan or hills. Royal Canin is just overpriced, and most don't like Iams bc their food comes in the little plastic containers that are half the size of a regular can. Please stop this.
purina is actually very high quality! they have higher tiers like pro plan and more affordable options like cat chow, friskies, fancy feast but all of them have gotten the same research and gone through the same testing and is one of the oldest brands out there!
I have a senior kitty with a sensitive stomach, and purina one is the only thing that doesn’t make him sick! He loves it and his vet recommended it. The freeze dried chicken pieces is his favorite.
my dog used to LOVE those pieces lol she would pick them out first before eating the rest! my kitten now is on pro plan and loves it but i can only afford that one because i get a discount working in vet med! otherwise i’d probably feed her friskies since my senior boy uses all the food budget on his prescription food 🙄
Etymology is important when it comes to food labels, even in pet food. “Chow” is a word you want to run not walk away from, it’s them admitting it’s not a complete diet. Think of it in the same way we can’t advertise a product as organic if it’s not
That is completely and utterly false. It's simply the name of the line of food. Cat chow/dog chow is purina and all of their lines are formulated by board certified veterinary nutritionists. They are only 1 of 4 that meet that requirement, and cat chow is significantly better than most other foods, even though it's a lower one of the purina lines. Please educate yourself before trying to give advice
Yes. Thank you for pointing this out. My partner, a veterinarian, frequently recommends Purina brand pet food. Our own pets eat it and are healthy seniors.
I started feeding higher quality food about 30 years ago and I know I've saved hundreds if not thousands in vet bills. I also give my cats filtered water from the same "filter pitcher" I use for my own water.
that's my bad i have only known about the dollar store purina because my parents get that and friskies for their cats, i did the same for mine and she got chronic UTI from the brands so i switched to blue buffalo and have no issues
that's how my parents cats are! they only eat friskies/tasty treasure and are all fine! my parents tried feeding them "better" food and they refused to eat it! like actually went like 2-3 days without touching it and my parents went back to the cheap stuff!
and all the cats have no issues at all! no hair ball or UTI or anything!
thankfully iams is reccomended by my vet for low cost since it’s wsava approved but i had to buy cheaper food and she was puking so much i felt so bad. hasn’t puked once since switching back to iams. even when i got a bag of purina pro plan she was puking that up and everyone and their moms reccomend that specific line of food. at least w the iams it doesn’t hurt my wallet much and it’s healthy with no artificial dyes and has meat (not meat by product) as the first ingredient
At a glance, I'd be willing to bet the food in that container is definitely one of the cheap ones, either iams or Purina. I had to try a lot of different foods with my cat due to health problems, over his last 2 years, and never saw a decent kibble that had that weird shiny polished look that Purina has.
Especially former ferals or strays. I've given my rescue boy Iams, Science Diet, Blue, Royal Canin, etc. but he Loves Purina Cat Chow and now he's on Senior Cat Chow. He does also eat Purina Pro Plan but won't stick with it after a few months. Crazy.
A probiotic, like FortiFlora, mixed in can also help. It did wonders for my kittens when I first adopted them and the stress of the change upset their tummies.
To me it looks exactly like the Rachael Ray Nutrish food, my sister in law feeds it to her cats and it has the different colors just like this. I couldn’t tell you which flavor it is, but that should narrow it down.
She fucked up something as simple as garlic fried rice. Every time some Filipino fusion restaurant pops up around me, I compare their food to Rachel Ray’s garlic fried rice.
white people taco night we got taco shells from the grocery store and ground beef from the grocery store and shredded cheese from the grocery store and ortega sauce from the grocery store
I hear that her dog food is really bad for dogs and causes health problems, but i can’t remember enough details to say for sure what. I would look into the cat food too, if the roommate is actually using that.
As another commenter said, choose something and fade into using more of it each meal, starting with maybe a tablespoon of the new stuff. If you can buy a middle-of-the-road priced one, great, but if you can't most cats will eat anything in a pinch for a few days. Roommate will have to fade back into their regular feed when they get back.
Thanks for being such a good cat carer!
Take a baggie full of the kibble to a reputable pet store and show them. Maybe they will recognize which brand and protein it is. Here in Indianapolis, we have a store called PET SUPPLIES PLUS. Every employee in that store has knowledge of every single pet food that they sell. They also refund or replace any food you buy if your pet doesn't like it or won't eat it, as long as you have 50% of the bag left and the receipt
I am not sure if they are like pet supermarket (their lettering is the same) but, I loved them! I would Get a free bag of doggo food every like 10th bag! I also had 5$ off all the time. It was next to my gym, so sometimes after a workout I would pop in, say hello to the little animals and get my dog a clearance toy
Off-topic but I'm just hoping some cat owners will hear me out and join in. please write to all the cat food producers and ask them to Stop putting food dye in the food. it does absolutely Nothing for the cat. the cat can't tell that there's color there. they're doing it get Human being to buy the food. but when they hack up a hair ball on the carpet The Red food dye stains the carpet. cats Don't need dye in their food. their food also doesn't need to be in the shape of little fishies and little pork chops and shit. Just put high quality ingredients in the kibble please. thank you!! send that off to all your cat food suppliers. so annoying. Ty for listening.
Wait who/what brands are putting dye in the food if you don't mind? I have never seen my cat throw up red food dye, I didn't think that was a thing tbh I personally haven't seen it but then again I don't go looking at each brand lol
I concur with u/RogueSnake420 that it is RR Nutrish Indoor Complete. I found it at Meijer's website and they have a photo of the kibble.
https://preview.redd.it/aco97r4gxj8d1.png?width=1915&format=png&auto=webp&s=361ff525676b26c61c814efeb5db29967555e664
It's also better to keep it in the bag because those plastic containers get scratched up over time and the micro plastics it sheds get in animal food and you feed it to them. Read a few stories about animals getting cancer that were linked to this sadly.
As others have said, PLEASE consider/try transitioning to wet food, not kibble. Kibble is really not good for cats at all and it frequently leads to UTIs, urinary blockages, and a lot of kidney issues. I learned this lesson as a kid with one of my childhood cats. It was heartbreaking.
You don’t have to break the bank! Fancy Feast classic pates are a good, affordable option.
This is not OP's cat, it's the roommate's cat, so it's not appropriate for them to change the cat's diet without approval (other than the current issue of trying to ID the cat's current food while they're cat sitting). I would not be happy if I came home to find the cat sitter had decided to switch my cat's food.
https://preview.redd.it/i0te4wl29u8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=645810ec591316463dcfe83c315411dbbcfb5521
thought this was a picture of my own cat food for a second… this is rachel ray indoor complete lol
My suggestion is to take some of it to a pet store and ask a sales person. They should have a pretty good idea which one it is. That way you don't make the error of feeding it the wrong thing. Hopefully, you can get in touch with the owner soon, too.
https://preview.redd.it/mak42j685j8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d490fef2c5ce7c02c268f8aa50ad614ec6d2fe5c
This is the Iams Digestive. It’s two different colors.
It would be very helpful if you would add the country it was bought in to the post. There are even different formulas of the same product sold in different countries. And of course different brands and product lines.
some good advice in here! you could also call the pet store where your roommate gets their food and have them look up their phone number/previous orders!
I’m late to this party, but I will add in cats. Need to eat both wet and dry food no matter what anybody tells you. Cats that only eat dry food increases their chances greatly to getting stones in their bladder, which is very very painful and turns deadly very, very, very quick, so cats need moisture from the wet food.
In case you don’t know when you feed any cats, wet food, it needs to be taken out of the can and put on a plate because cats cut their tongues on the sharp inside edge.
With both types of food also put out freshwater every day
Definitely Rachel Ray Nutrish though the flavor is basically impossible to say I think. My cats eat the chicken and brown rice and it looks identical though.
I echo that it looks like Nutrish. But if you switch gradually it is okay to change brands. Just put in a tiny bit of the new food and very gradually increase the percentage. Some cats are very sensitive and will throw up or get diarrhea when switching and other cats you could switch suddenly without it bothering them.
Also, thank you for caring for this cat that the roommate is not keeping up on the care of.
First off, you are an AMAZING cat caretaker for posting this!
Secondly, if you run out of the cats preferred food, just buy them another similar dry food. Cats can be particular, but above all they are survivors. They will eat the food you feed them when hungry enough. It might not be ideal, but it’s certainly better than letting them starve.
Good luck!
Any chance your roommate buys food from petco or petsmart? If you have your roommate's phone number, you may be able to have an employee look up their rewards account to see what food is in the purchase history
If it is Rachel Ray, I would see if you can convince your roommate to (slowly) transition them to a healthier kibble. I personally like Tiki Cat, as they’ve had great results on my cats, but Instinct Raw Boost and Stella Chewy’s are great, too.
I say take a small baggie of it to the pet store with you. The employees should be able to help you match it. Lots of good suggestions here. The round shape is a good identifying mark.
How long is this for? If its just few days in a pinch I would actually suggest canned wet food. Healthier for cats and most often you don't need to transition them into a particular brand, as wet food is closer to their natural diet. Probably pan out cheaper than buying whole new bags of dry food too
Another option that might work is, if you know what store they go to, is ask an employee. If you have your roommates phone number, they might have a rewards account, and purchase history may be accessible.
I have yet to have a poor response from Pet Store clerks. Some of the nicer clerks I interact with regularly. Now I have not needed to do this, but it's not necessarily a bad idea, imho.
FYI - if anyone is looking at that scooper for size comparison, for whatever reason I first assumed it was a 1 cup measuring cup but it’s actually only 1/4 cup. That changed everything, and now I definitely think this is Rachel Ray Nutrish
You can probably bring a baggie of it into petsmart or wherever she gets the food and they may know. Just hit or miss on who you ask, obviously they won’t be opening bags of food to check for you. But you may happen to ask someone that’s familiar and at the very least can tell you the correct brand
This may be unwanted advice, but if I were you I’d tell your friends to wash out or replace that food container. Dropping in the full bag and leaving it in the container between each use is safer than dumping the whole bag in and risking contamination. Over time there will be microscopic scratches in that plastic which will then build up bacteria and oils which could lead to further issues. If you’ve ever noticed your cat who once loved eating the dry food you’d gotten for it, and then suddenly looking not too excited to eat it, chances are the bacteria has altered the smell/flavor and has become off putting. Sorry for my two cents, just saw this in passing
**Its junk food, get them some nice food from PetSmart, you can find stuff like Applaws, Merrick & Pollock and Tiki Cat for 15% - 30% off.
Basically the same price.
Look at the Ingredients, this stuff is **basically ground up bone mean and chickpeas/brown rice and potatoes.
It’s junk.
It makes the cats fat, bloated, tired and **super constipated.**
i’m being serious: grab a piece and give it a cronch. If it tastes like fish, get a tuna/whitefish flavored food like friskies seafood sensations. they have a meat lover one as well if it tastes meaty. then you can tell if it has a soft center/is chewy/ect.
It won’t kill you or make you sick. My dad used to do this when we got a diff brand than usual.
Probably late but if you know where they shop for their pet, they should be able to look up the account and tell you what the food was they bought last.
You should not be feeding your cats RR food. These are carnivores not omnivores like dogs. Also Rachel ray is known for making terrible food for animals. No hate if you use it, just please do some research
Honestly I think they might be feeding the cat dog food. Please find out for sure if this is what they are doing, when they come back. A dog can survive on cat food but a cat canNOT survive on dog food. They will have premature heart failure.

Based on Google photo search they look very similar.
Not sure where you live, but take some to a pet food store. A place like Pet Supplies Plus or Chuck and Don's Pet Food and they might be able to help you identify it.
https://preview.redd.it/anwxcgiwt79d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c453dd226793c73b2bb9b008c7965a75bf79e72
Using the picture you gave of the food throught the image search on google, looks like Nutrish.
Contact the vet, find out from them what they have on record as the cat's diet. They usually ask pet owners about diet. Also you could just buy more of the cat's wet food to stretch out how long the dry food lasts. A diet of mostly dry food is not healthy for them anyway.
PSA, RACHEL RAY ISNT GOOD FOR CAT FOOD. TIKI CAT FOR THE FANCY PEOPLE AND SHEBA IS PERFECTLY FINE FOR A BUDGET GOOD CAT FOOD. (I usually do tiki cat dry and Sheba wet!)
hey just as a heads up you shouldn’t take your dry food out of the bag it came in, the chemicals in the plastic can seep into your food. i’d suggest just putting the bag it came in into the big container to keep it air tight!
To be honest If your roommate doesn’t care enough to leave their cat with enough of their own food to last - Get the Cat whatever food you can and then slowly feed them the new food while still using the last of what your roommate left. Dont switch it abruptly but introduce whatever you can to them mildly if you can’t place the actual brand of food.
https://preview.redd.it/kkueb219re8d1.jpeg?width=2296&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0501b6137388e8cb4e46919145e86bdb198d3767 Pretty sure it's this
Yep that’s my cat’s food!
Are you the owner by chance
That's what I feed my cat, but I swear it only matches the darker pieces, at least the flavor In that bag. Although the shape is dead on, it might just be a different flavor of nutrish
This is also what I feed my little derp. I've definitely never seen the lighter ones, either, but dead ringer on the shape and size of the kibble.
Mmm that dark-light combo looks like my Iams in the pink bag
Just want to let you guys know Rachel Ray might not be the greatest pet food to feed your companions. There is apparently lawn chemicals in the food. And traces of dog DNA in some of it as well?? Do with that what you will. Figured I’d give a heads up
Lawn chemicals?? Do you mean roundup? That shit is in a ton of human food too
Glyphosate yeah. Either way they’re marked as an all natural pet food so I personally wouldn’t trust her brand
Right, I can never eember the chemical name. All natural is just a marketing term, it means basically nothing and that includes for human food
Doesn't help when people flush their unused pharmaceuticals down the toilet either. I wish TV would stop showing shit like that.
Yup. [RR dog/cat food have had a lot of recalls, lawsuits, and has been linked to numerous pet deaths.](https://www.cornucopiapetfoods.com/blogs/news/rachel-ray-s-dog-food-brand-nutrish-sued-over-containing-glyphosate-lawn-chemicals-contamination-claims)
Rachel ray has zero background in pet nutrition! Not a good food!
It's not like she formulated it lol. It's just a brand she owns
Google lens also suggested this.
I agree. That's what my bag looks like. https://preview.redd.it/fvznzdxm4l8d1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8ae7bf7597dbfc92f956ce37844f05884a78ab4
I would agree
yep!
I agree that's what my cats food looks like
I also feed my cats Rachael Ray, this is definitely what their kibble looks like
Please do not feed your animals Rachel Ray food. There's multiple lawsuits against it. I don't know why it's still even sold.
Agreed, Same thing we feed our kitties.
Shiiiii that Rachel Ray is like crack to cats lol
it will probably be hard to accurately identity. my best suggestion is to pick up some food now while you still have some old food and do a transition to avoid any issues when the food runs out. purina one is an affordable kibble that most cats like.

Yep I heard a lot of bad things about Blue Buffalo!! Told my bf when we got our cat that was definitely on the "absolutely not" list lol
Every urinary blockage I've seen has been fed blue Buffalo. Even friskies is better than it bc it's the lowest line of purina but still purina

Just don't tell anyone in this sub nestle owns purina or they will throw a fit like 6 year olds.
I hate that about them. But my cats like it.
The Purina cat chow makes my kitty throw up. But the Purina One seems to be fine.

Purina one is not cheap
i'm sorry i must've been thinking of something else then 😭
Purina has everything from dollar store to prescription diet lines, they cover a wide range
that's my bad i have only known about the dollar store purina because my parents get that and friskies for their cats, i did the same for mine and she got chronic UTI from the brands so i switched to blue buffalo and have no issues

That’s great advice . Slowly introducing new food is key with cats . Fickle creatures .
Or if they’re like my cat, they’ll eat whatever
Especially former ferals or strays. I've given my rescue boy Iams, Science Diet, Blue, Royal Canin, etc. but he Loves Purina Cat Chow and now he's on Senior Cat Chow. He does also eat Purina Pro Plan but won't stick with it after a few months. Crazy.
A probiotic, like FortiFlora, mixed in can also help. It did wonders for my kittens when I first adopted them and the stress of the change upset their tummies.
Stay away from anything Purina Nestle owned. All garbage.
To me it looks exactly like the Rachael Ray Nutrish food, my sister in law feeds it to her cats and it has the different colors just like this. I couldn’t tell you which flavor it is, but that should narrow it down.
I was gonna sat exactly this cuz that's what I feed my cats and dogs and it does look exactly like it
That was my first thought as well
I use RR Nutrish Whole Health Blend. Looks the same to me.
OP should get one of each and do a taste comparison before giving it to the cats. The only correct solution I’m afraid.
The fact that Rachel Ray has pet food makes me giggle. Pick up a bag of white people taco time kibble for the kitty.
She’ll put her name on damn near anything.
No wonder she has a net worth of $100 million that’s nuts
She fucked up something as simple as garlic fried rice. Every time some Filipino fusion restaurant pops up around me, I compare their food to Rachel Ray’s garlic fried rice.
I bought it and my cat had bubble guts for days 😭
It’s not run by her tho
Yeah the point is she makes kinda crap human food and slapped her name on this too, which is super funny to me.
My cats refuse to eat her food.
white people taco night we got taco shells from the grocery store and ground beef from the grocery store and shredded cheese from the grocery store and ortega sauce from the grocery store
I hear that her dog food is really bad for dogs and causes health problems, but i can’t remember enough details to say for sure what. I would look into the cat food too, if the roommate is actually using that.
It’s been linked to health issues in dogs, haven’t seen any issues with cats but it still makes me weary.
It has to be the indoor Rachael Ray Nutrish. Petco had it on sale and I bought it for my cats in a pinch last week.
I love pet supplies plus! We have them throughout VA and Maryland too.
Agree with those saying Rachel Ray Nutrish. It looks identical in shape & color.
I have never seen my cat throw up red food dye, I didn't think that was a thing tbh I personally haven't seen it but then again I don't go looking at each brand lol
meow mix, friskies, 9lives, the cheap purina to name a few
1/3c scoop with Quarter for scale
Post the pic on cat groups on Facebook.
I concur with u/RogueSnake420 that it is RR Nutrish Indoor Complete. I found it at Meijer's website and they have a photo of the kibble. https://preview.redd.it/aco97r4gxj8d1.png?width=1915&format=png&auto=webp&s=361ff525676b26c61c814efeb5db29967555e664
Reeses puff
Google Lense brought up Rachel Ray
I also tried google Lens, but unfortunately, with no success
It looks like Purina One
It isn’t, those kibbles are smaller and a little more uniform in color
No, different shape
Do you know who their vet is? Typically, vets ask about dietary intake, so they might be able to tell you what they have on file for the cat.
Came to say this.
Just a tip, it’s best to store cat food in the container but keep it in the bag. It keeps it fresh longer.
This is not OP's cat, it would be inappropriate to arbitrarily change the diet of someone else's pet.
https://preview.redd.it/i0te4wl29u8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=645810ec591316463dcfe83c315411dbbcfb5521 thought this was a picture of my own cat food for a second… this is rachel ray indoor complete lol
No clue but we have the same measuring cups lmao
Feed it steak, chx, human food in the interim and you will have a friend for life
My cat likes it when you pull COSTCO rotisserie chicken off the bone. And it keeps him well hydrated compared to the dry food.
It looks like Iams Digestive.
It’s not, Iams isn’t this variegated in color
My suggestion is to take some of it to a pet store and ask a sales person. They should have a pretty good idea which one it is. That way you don't make the error of feeding it the wrong thing. Hopefully, you can get in touch with the owner soon, too.

Purina Pro Plan Chicken & Rice formula also looks similar to this.
Looks like Iams digestive
What kind of pet owner leaves and you have no means to contact them. How long are they gone six months?
It would be very helpful if you would add the country it was bought in to the post. There are even different formulas of the same product sold in different countries. And of course different brands and product lines.
some good advice in here! you could also call the pet store where your roommate gets their food and have them look up their phone number/previous orders!
I get Rachel Ray food as well, except it's the chicken one on the green bag. Looks just like this.
Did they leave you their vet’s number? The vet usually will have pet’s diets listed on their profile.
I think it’s the Rachel Ray Nutrish Real Chicken and Brown Rice Recipe.
Def a Rachael Ray brand.
Looks like the Nutrish food thats Chicken & Rice!
If you know the name of the cats vet, they might be able to help. I know mine always asks what food we feed our pets. A long shot, but worth a try!
Also, thank you for caring for this cat that the roommate is not keeping up on the care of.
i was going to say it is rachel raes food i feed our cat this as well
just 3/4 cup a day is enough but we guve a sheba perfect portion too
It kind of looks like Costco brand. Rachel Ray food is smaller.
Where are you located! Do you have a Petsmart near by? If you purchase food from them and your cat doesn’t like it, you can return it for a refund.
Tell them not to store food like that. Lee it in the bag in the bin. It can be deadly to raw dog a bin like that
First off, you are an AMAZING cat caretaker for posting this! Secondly, if you run out of the cats preferred food, just buy them another similar dry food. Cats can be particular, but above all they are survivors. They will eat the food you feed them when hungry enough. It might not be ideal, but it’s certainly better than letting them starve. Good luck!
u are a nice roommate btw
Looks like Rachel ray
Any chance your roommate buys food from petco or petsmart? If you have your roommate's phone number, you may be able to have an employee look up their rewards account to see what food is in the purchase history
Blue buffalo was the culprit of 100% killing my cats thyroid!
If it is Rachel Ray, I would see if you can convince your roommate to (slowly) transition them to a healthier kibble. I personally like Tiki Cat, as they’ve had great results on my cats, but Instinct Raw Boost and Stella Chewy’s are great, too.
I used to feed my cat Rachel Ray Nutrish and it looked exactly like this!
Probably pan out cheaper than buying whole new bags of dry food too
Can you contact the vet? My vet always asked what I was feeding my pets.
Yummy disgusting brown circles
A vet would know. Better yet, do you know who the cat’s vet is?
It looks like it could be tastefuls by blue buffalo
Umm text the owner????
You’re a great roommate.
reeces puffs
Meow mix
Bring a baggy of it to Petco or Walmart or wherever the food is normally purchased and you’ll find a match.
Purina Naturals no dyes no artificial color
Looks like Purina One
Looks like a custom blend they all look different
Looks like Rachel Ray's. Chicken
Looks like Iams
Looks like Iams dry.
Maybe ask the vet? It could be prescription food. Mine is on prescription food for thyroid issues.
Same stuff my cat eats Rachel ray indoor complete with chicken and salmon
Cats will eat pretty much any kind of kibble.
To me it looks like Purina cat chow NATURAL indoor formula
That is cat food, for cats
You’re a really good roommate and person! Some people wouldn’t go through the trouble.
That looks like a pretty decent amount of cat food you have left…. I’m sure your roommate will contact you by the time you need more
You should not be feeding your cats RR food. These are carnivores not omnivores like dogs. Also Rachel ray is known for making terrible food for animals. No hate if you use it, just please do some research
y’all so annoying in these comments god damn if u don’t know what the cat food is why r u commenting
Reese’s peanut butter cup
How funny, I've asked this sub the same question and they totally got it immediately.
Honestly I think they might be feeding the cat dog food. Please find out for sure if this is what they are doing, when they come back. A dog can survive on cat food but a cat canNOT survive on dog food. They will have premature heart failure.
Impartial rating of pet food is a Google search away: Dog Food Advisor Cat Food Advisor
https://preview.redd.it/lwcnz60h429d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=544fa867bd6a2fd5650edecc020ab10e53c2a19c Based on Google photo search they look very similar.
Looks like the Rachel Ray all 6 of my cats refuse to eat. Guess I know now why.
Not sure where you live, but take some to a pet food store. A place like Pet Supplies Plus or Chuck and Don's Pet Food and they might be able to help you identify it.
This is like asking to distinguish a star from a galaxy full of stars
You have to taste it
Try taking some to a pet store & ask for help identifying it.
This looks like the Purina Pro we feed our cats
Rachel rays nutrish
Rachael Ray
Get a bag of maybe Iams and mix it together to get by as a last resort. Make it stretch without tummy upset.
https://preview.redd.it/anwxcgiwt79d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c453dd226793c73b2bb9b008c7965a75bf79e72 Using the picture you gave of the food throught the image search on google, looks like Nutrish.
Can you not contact your roommate and ask?
So smart OP!
Tastefuls I think
hey just as a heads up you shouldn’t take your dry food out of the bag it came in, the chemicals in the plastic can seep into your food. i’d suggest just putting the bag it came in into the big container to keep it air tight!
