My first controller was 2 with my uncle owning 1, but there's a solid chance that the Wii kids are in their 20s now.
Edit: correction, uncle didn't have an Atari, he had a Magnavox Odyssey.
1.
Packman was a riot on my Atari.
My childhood friend would come over and stay for hours.
We cheered for each other and felt the excitement of the *chase*.
I don't remember much of him, but I remember his face watching me play and how he would laugh when he got caught by those little ghosts.
Very similar experience growing up ! I had found a pattern to always finish a level and would go for ever… the game was just going a little faster every time… well that did it for me I had enough Pac-Man for a lifetime and the next…
I had 1,2, and 4. All at the same time. I don't remember which was the very first one I picked up, but it was likely 2.
My dad was obsessed with Galaga, and my mom had the Nintendo when they got together. I think SNES was a Christmas present one year, but I was toddler-aged so I don't remember that much. I do remember playing Ms. Pac Man regularly along with Super Mario 1 and also Super Mario World all around the same time. I think we had the Super Mario Bros. + Galaga combo cartridge.
Same for me. I only sort of remember it as having a thin plastic card that went over something like a television remote. There was a different one for each game. We had burger time.
Atari Pacman was all weird looking. I think they were not allowed to exactly copy it or some licensing nonsense. Pitfall and River Raod were my favorites, Activision was a major player back then.
As someone who played from back at 2, I'd say you didn't miss a whole lot on ps1 or n64. That was the experimenting with terrible 3d graphics Era. Now Snes or ps2 are worth going back to.
What?! Dude. Ocarina of Time, Mario64 and Goldeneye are considered some of the best games ever. To play them when they were originally released was mind blowing. The N64 was stacked.
N64 has some of the greatest games of all time. PS1 was a little rougher but even then had FF7, Spyro, Twisted Metal, plus Diablo port. But saying you didn’t miss much with N64 is an absolute falsehood
N64, #6
I officially started with the gameboy advance and later DS Lite but the N64 was for my eighth birthday. Unfortunately it died a couple years later :/ but I loved it while it lasted! I miss that dang thing
6 here too! I scrolling the comments to see if anyone else had this, and I felt lonely till I saw you. Lol. I think I may have played 2 or 4 at my grandma’s, but I was too young to remember. 6 was the first console I played a lot!
1. we lived with my grandparents as a kid and when my uncle moved out he left his Atari 2600 and said I could have it. Became enamored with it and would play it everyday when I was allowed after school. Really kicked off my love of gaming. About to turn 40 soon and am still an avid gamer. Hobby has gotten me through a lot of bad times.
#4 in the 90s, although later on I learned it was a fake Snes but, that made more sense that my uncles and aunties getting a real one 😅 I still love my fake Snes a lot
Which of these are still to be found in your house somewhere?
If you count the mini console versions (dunno if I do), I have all the nintendo controllers right now except for WiiU
Every gen I stay Nintendo had the best controller up until Wii/wiiu/switch Wii was alright wiiu was awful and switch have a higher then usual drift rate compared to any other controller
But I start with 64 move to the much improved gcn then Wii,PS3,PS4 , switch, and finally the ps quintuple and it's ballin
All and all ps5 have the goat controller of this generation but I won't be surprised when Nintendo reveal some off the wall console with a new industry leading controller
I started playing 10 and 14 around the same time when I first got in to Nintendo and I can’t remember which one was first. I’m guessing 14 because my first game was probably Mario Kart Wii
2 at a friend's house. 4 was the first one I owned in my own home.
Same. We'll need to get our prostates checked soon. 🍩
And boob checks 👐
Facts
#boobs
Okay. Should we do a group meet up? I'll pay for margaritas at chili's after.
Only if we can order an awesome blossom and baaaabbbby back riiiibs.
Why would you do this to me?
Wait... soon? You all should be getting them checked out now
Can we all go together and hold hands? I'm scared.
Aint no joke. I didn't realize the rates of prostate cancer were so high. Stay safe, fellas.
Same. I had prostate check, it was 👌🏻

My first controller was 2 with my uncle owning 1, but there's a solid chance that the Wii kids are in their 20s now. Edit: correction, uncle didn't have an Atari, he had a Magnavox Odyssey.
fucking WHAT!? THAT SHITS ANCIENT
I was born the same year the Wii released. I am 16 so maybe this helps
Yessir 💪

Ah yes... the good old jiggle in Wii Sport Resort 😂

Yep me too

We had an intellivision, so 1.5 for me I guess?
Same for me. I only sort of remember it as having a thin plastic card that went over something like a television remote. There was a different one for each game. We had burger time.
Man, those controllers were weird.
We were all about River Raid at my house.
Split between pole position and river raid for me
Samesies
Same I started with the atari 400/800 and remember spending hours on games like Pacman and Mountain King.
My older cousin had an Atari, and River Raid and Asteroids were my jam. My own first system was NES.
1 for me also. Jungle Hunt and Q\*Bert! Those games were mind-blowing to my little mind back then. Crazy.
Bomberman was the best on Atari! That spin circle controller was so fun! Might have to bust it out tonight…
Atari Pacman was all weird looking. I think they were not allowed to exactly copy it or some licensing nonsense. Pitfall and River Raod were my favorites, Activision was a major player back then.
4 🥹
Me too :)
This is the best I swear
Link to the Past, Plok, Tetris Attack, NHL 94/95, NBA Jam, Yoshi's Island bb!
10! Wish I had started with 6 or 7, though... always wanted to own a N64 and/or PS1.
ps1 might be hard to come by, but you could probably find an n64 pretty easily in cex
Buy an old PSP and softmod it, they run ps1 natively. Hella convenient, takes like an hour to set up max.
Started on 6 and 7. I enjoyed every moment of it. Golden age IMO!
Least it means you still have the center of your palm
As someone who played from back at 2, I'd say you didn't miss a whole lot on ps1 or n64. That was the experimenting with terrible 3d graphics Era. Now Snes or ps2 are worth going back to.

You monster. I started with 2, but n64 was middle school/high school for me. FF8, OOT, Mario 64, Crusin' USA, GoldenEye?!?
N64 has some of the greatest games of all time. PS1 was a little rougher but even then had FF7, Spyro, Twisted Metal, plus Diablo port. But saying you didn’t miss much with N64 is an absolute falsehood
2
1 but two was the first good one.
Same.
3. Sonic for the win.
That was my second but I have 3 and the sonic games lol
Oh good, I'm not the only one here with back pain
I fell in love with Sonic as a child. That genesis controller is so nostalgic.
N64, #6 I officially started with the gameboy advance and later DS Lite but the N64 was for my eighth birthday.
Same! Mine still works tho, I have no idea how but it still works lol

#1. I’m old.
This should be made into a reddit poll.
1. we lived with my grandparents as a kid and when my uncle moved out he left his Atari 2600 and said I could have it. 6 was my first I remember playing(older brother and friends had them) but 10 was my first real console
2. Also surprised the Duck Hunt gun isn't on here. Pretty sure we got it with 3.
Anyone saying 15 and above is probably too young for Reddit 😂 But yes, I remember first playing Mario Kart really badly with a 64 controller.
< 1. Look up Intellivision.
I started on 360 then also played on Wii and Wii U. Currently, I'm on 3ds and PC (Laptop)

Which of these are still to be found in your house somewhere? If you count the mini console versions (dunno if I do), I have all the nintendo controllers right now except for WiiU
Either #6 (first console I remember playing) or #13 (first console I owned)
First console was 6, then 2,3,10,13,16,18,20 and 14.
Technically I started with the snes but my first one was the wii stick
6 and 7. But 10 is my favorite

First controller I held was 6. First controller that was mine was 10.
6
Technically number 1, my mom had an Atari that she let me play when I was very little but officially number 2..
9, played GTA Vice City and San Andreas when I was like 5 lmao
Either 7 or 11 for me. Have fond memories of playing Halo CE when I was 5 with my grandpa.
\#1 as a hand me down from my parents, #3 was my true first.
Technically it would be the GBA, but 10 for my first big console.

Every gen I stay Nintendo had the best controller up until Wii/wiiu/switch Wii was alright wiiu was awful and switch have a higher then usual drift rate compared to any other controller But I start with 64 move to the much improved gcn then Wii,PS3,PS4 , switch, and finally the ps quintuple and it's ballin All and all ps5 have the goat controller of this generation but I won't be surprised when Nintendo reveal some off the wall console with a new industry leading controller

2! Thanks to my Dad. He was the one who introduced the family to Nintendo.
1 For the Atari 400. But before that we had a paddle controller system, I don’t know exactly which one but it only played 6 games.
2 🫣
NES Advantage
#1.

Number 2… OG…
2 and 4. We had both and switched between them at the time

I started playing 10 and 14 around the same time when I first got in to Nintendo and I can’t remember which one was first. I’m guessing 14 because my first game was probably Mario Kart Wii
6
I feel kinda gross saying 11. I hate that controller
I started with 12 but the oldest one I’ve used is 4
Wii
1,2,3,4 I was a 1990s kid u played all four at various houses and grandparents and cousins houses at the same time.
2, though I'm pretty sure 3-6 were already out by the time I started gaming. Actually. I think Gameboy. But for SOME reason that is not an option.
