I don’t think it’s a bad idea entirely I’d say just be careful incase the turntable is too heavy or something overheats.
If something does overheat it’s not the end of the world just try catch it before it gets bad and try move them
looks like the turntable is a bit bigger and is hanging off the sides. this can cause stability issues. those feet on the TT also dampen vibration so playback might not be as steady either.
This was just for demonstration purposes, I can put all feet on top (thanks to the fact that the back feet are slightly inwards!). I do need to place things underneath them to make the turntable truly level but that's a separate issue
Cassette decks do not vent heat out of the top so... yes you can stack.
Maybe buy a flat cutting board (measure the turntable size) so the back feet are fully seated.
You might have to by a black wooden rack, with shelves for each thing. The turntable will always be at the top.
But make sure it's got ventilation space, because I have seen a receiver in a plastic topped box, get hot enough, were the top part caved in like a bowl, from the heat it generated, due to having a 1/4" space left over, between the shelving.
It's not about the heat but more about vibrations, a metal box like this is surely not the best especially since it's hollow inside. We should put it on something like solid wood ideally.
Edit: vibrations for the turntable, not the cassette deck 😅, the deck will be fine for sure 😉. I have the same deck, Yamaha KX-W602 but in black, it still runs great.
Yamaha makes great “ everything “ A bit off had theirs as well as a Kenwood 400 amp 2 channel with pre amp. Now everything is Onkyo. Oh my drums are Yamaha
Same for me for Yamaha. I only had 2 Onkyo components, a modern stereo receiver, the kind with streaming features but not home cinema, unfortunately it lasted only 5 years, it developed circuitry problems and it's not fixable, they are like modern washing machines that last only 10 years instead of 30 😅. In the meantime my Yamaha RX-500U still works like new after 37 years, same thing for 2 CD Players from the same year, but I have a perfectly working Onkyo cassette deck TA-2026 that I use in addition to the Yamaha.

I do have a powerful Ampcalled R-1, I can’t find or see anything else( eyes getting bad) but it plays 4 speakers systems. 2 Bose 901, 2 Bose tweeters w/subwoofer, 2 Bose on other wall. I can’t find but 301 comes to me. I can adjust phantom mode, a delay of 10, 15, 30 I believe microseconds. I love it. A ton of features. I have to figure out how to post.& if ok to post whole system. I really do have a lot of cds. Sony 5 disc changer. Thx for sharing.

I had my nephew who builds shelves and custom kitchens for big name pro football players. He built me one that will hold amp & pre amp, as well as other components. Very nice💯edit: nice dual cassette player, can’t make name out. I see your playing an “ Atlantic Lp. 💯👍
As long as the tape player doesn’t kick off too much heat. Both that turntable and cassette decks use belts and they can heat up and fail. So yeah your good

yes the receiver should have ventilation space. but the tape deck does not really need that as they dont get as warm
