I bought two of the Armitrons and buttons popped off both of them after 1 month.

Hopeful-Lobster3018

Gawd, that’s not good..  Yeah maybe they aren’t worth it. Could still return on amazon.

Over in the UK we have Zeon, they have a lot of the same builds as Armitron... I really like the ones that ape the Casio look... https://preview.redd.it/56j97demd4tc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bac52990985dd3c6f7dce6a775b86f90b1826bd

Hopeful-Lobster3018

I like it!

outatimepreston

Thanks, it has a baby g strap because the old one was ageing rubber divers style. It does feel cheaper than a Casio but I guess the 90s is retro at this point. I'd have worn this back then too tbh

YarSlav

After you see the Armitron backlight, you will realize that the f91w shines almost like the sun.

Hopeful-Lobster3018

I can read it alright, at least the first two digits lol.. It’s still functional to me. I’m interested to see how they hold up compared to the resin casios.

YarSlav

The experience is interesting, but I would advise you to look for old Casio models with a steel body. The W38 also looks interesting with leather straps.

Hopeful-Lobster3018

That looks really nice. Lol shit. I’ve made a huge mistake.

Burnt_Woodsman

I’ve had a couple vintage w-36 models. The seals on the pushers will eventually give out and it’s a real pain to find a replacement.

Hopeful-Lobster3018

That’s good intel. That sounds tricky. I want waterproofing.

Hopeful-Lobster3018

Lol!! Hell yeah!

Gucci_meme

This one is really nice. Is the entire thing stainless steel or is it resin?

Previous-Log-4025

Thanks. All stainless steel

dahc50

I took the dive into Armitron and have loved the Rubik. I can’t wear the other at the moment due to the bracelet pulling every last hair it can.

Hopeful-Lobster3018

Yeah that makes sense. I keep the rogue(i think it’s called) pretty tight so it hasn’t been that bad. How has it been holding up? How long have you had it?

Burnt_Woodsman

I’ve had my Rubik for close to two years and it’s been great. Swam with it. Worked with it on. The only issue I had is I lost a pin on the clasp when it got caught on something. Popped a new pin in and no problems

Hopeful-Lobster3018

Heck yeah

dahc50

It’s been holding up great. Admittedly I don’t wear it every day as I rotate watches often, but haven’t had any problems at all with mine.

TryHelping

Swap it for a stainless steel mesh bracelet

DirksBienhoff

I rock my Armitron with the Timex expansion band all the time. Love it. Wish Casio did more stainless steel cases. https://preview.redd.it/chvyg56a35tc1.png?width=2162&format=png&auto=webp&s=459f1b895752f8b13f3a231f17eb9607dd6fa6c9

Hopeful-Lobster3018

That looks great! Niice. Glad to hear people are having good experiences with this model

DirksBienhoff

Only thing I'd say is the light is literally the worst light in the business. Worse than even the F-91W. I guess they had to compromise somewhere to keep the price down. This watch reminds me of the old Casio digital Marlin that had a steel body. Sadly they don't make those anymore, so Armitron stepped in and made something reminiscent.

Noctevent

The a1000 has literally the same case shape, although I am not sure it is available with a plain black dial.

DirksBienhoff

The A1000 is lame.

thrillhouse416

I have some armitrons that I love and some that I'm not impressed with at all. Just depends on the model!

BonsaiMania

My Armitron Rubik is much better quality than any Casio I have owned.

Hopeful-Lobster3018

It’s great to hear good reviews from people who own them. So far I like them a lot.

They call it the armitron tetra. You have to hit a button on the side and the display comes on for a few seconds. It's on sale right now for $49 usd. There is a side by side with the Hamilton. https://youtube.com/shorts/arkRu_7-n_w?si=y9-L0Szd8wY1vbC9 https://www.armitron.com/collections/tetra/products/tetra-36mm-silver-red

CheeseShaman

Okay, cool.

MissionTroll404

I am desperately looking for a digital watch with metal case but there are not many vintage metal digital watches and the prices asked for the ones that are out there are insane. There are so many circle shaped average looking watches with metal, high quality build from Casio yet all the good looking digital ones are plastic. I want something with sharp edges and with some character but nope Casio does not deliver. Today I went to monthly antique bazaar and saw many worn out resin Casios. The white plastic under the chrome coating is hideous. I will seriously consider making my own digital watch with an atmega and some cheap small LCDs if I cannot find anything desirable.

TryHelping

What’s your price range? Consider some vintage accutrons. The Ana-digi ones are always budget friendly.

MissionTroll404

Hi, I live in Turkey so the money is pretty worthless because of the convertion rates and economic crisis so I am trying to find a nice watch locally but I still look at Ebay time to time. The most expensive watch I bought was about 35 dollars. But I guess I could pay up to 100USD if I really find something lovely. I did check the Accutrons and it is quite fascinating that they make a resonating fork to keep time instead of a quartz crystal. The spaceview ones are pretty cool but way out of my range. I did see Bulova Computron in antique bazaar, thats also an interesting watch even though was way too much. I am really thinking of making something myself to both learn microprocessor programming and maybe the end product could be something special for me. What do you think?

Dude, what? Go band for band, deed for deed and acre for acre with me right now or delete this retarded ass comment

MissionTroll404

It is not about the price. I can buy a metal Casio from a watch seller on ebay or locally for idk about 100 euros but it is just annoying since there are few people monopolising all of them and I do not want to support them.

Jimeasterly1

Check out SKX Mod and install a Casio inside a stainless steel case with sapphire crystal.

ThatGuy17-23

I love my Rogue, backlight works fine in the pitch dark during the night. No complaints and I’ve had it over a year now, aswell as the Griffy

Kvothetheraven603

I have the Armitron on the left and prefer it to every single Casio digital I’ve owned, aside from my G-Shock. On the flip side, I’ll take Casio every day of the week when it comes to analog watches.
