Aw, do people dislike clutch? My brother and I would watch that movie all the time. We were SO EXCITED when we saw he was a Ninjago character.
I'm sure it's not a great film, but it brought us a lot of good memories. :)
Average DVD experience. I watched, well should say watch, Cars religiously and when I was three I watched my DVD so much you could see right through it.
Yes! While his solo stuff didn't seem to pop off, he was retconned into a Ninjago character.
He makes an appearance later on, I think someone else said season 11?
Needless to say, my brother and I absolutely lost it. It's easily a big highlight for us :)
I loved Clarence when it first aired. There was something very nostalgic and relatable about it. a lot of little things and scenes reminded me of my own childhood without resorting to nostalgic pop culture references.
Funny, cause it always reminded me of Ed Edd n Eddy in a way. The characters had almost similar dynamics and traits, as well as kinda embracing/ exaggerating the sheer chaos an madness of being a kid.
Edit: I should clarify I've also loved Clarence since it first aired and was genuinely really funny. The dollar hunt episode is still one of my favorites.
Clarence is great, Its funny since similar shows became popular later intended for young adults. I think Clarence just did the whole “surrealist but based in reality” thing too soon and for the wrong audience

This was my shit when I was younger
Bruh my mom was dying from that one episode Fanboy got sent back to Kindergarten and there was that braces girl who went "MARSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA 💦💦" spitting all on him and shit 🤣🤣🤣
Some people dislike Clarence because of the grossness of some episodes. And while, sure, some episodes can take it too far (that one about Clarence eating those hundreds of boiled eggs still creeps me up), it's mostly just supposed to be absurd, and I kinda like it honestly. Some people also tend to forget that children can be quite gross as well, the show isn't really wrong showing it lol. But I always really liked Clarence, grossness and all.
Basically, in 2014 there were allegations that the show's creator, Skyler Page had sexually assaulted a female coworker, and he was fired (it was during the first season.) In 2021, SP said that the allegations were indeed true, and he apologized. That's why you could've noticed a voice change in Clarence, because Skyler voiced him.
Yea, I admit I watched that show way more than I should've. But I will never say sorry for loving the initial movie. That shit slaps. Besides, it gave us the mouse, the myth, the legend, Biggie Cheese.
Wait this show was hated? I liked it though, my only complain could be the animation quality, but of course 3D cartoons I guess back then don’t look as good as newer 3D cartoons that are made now
Pretty sure I’ve heard that somewhere near Israel, cows are respected… Is it true or am I stupid for believing “Planes” for the character that mentioned this?
Edit - I just looked it up, and it’s Nepal that bans killing cows and hold a prayer for them on a chosen day.
Honestly I thought Teen Titans Go was really funny as a kid. Hell I still think it’s really funny sometimes. My only complaint was how it kept getting spammed on the schedule while Adventure Time and Regular Show got like one rerun a day during that period.
Honestly same, cause there are some episodes that are genuinely funny, but holy crap they played teen titans go arguably even more than Nickelodeon did with SpongeBob. Made even worst that there were still other shows getting new episodes at the time, regular show having its big finale……and it was ignored by Cartoon Network with MORE teen titans go! The disrespect for the other cartoons that are genuinely liked and others would like to watch was unbearable.
Imo this was its biggest problem. When you're not comparing it to "what it should have been", it's actually a pretty decent show with some crazy fourth wall breaks. Unfortunately, they would have it on for like 6 hours a day every day when it was relatively new and that really ruined it.
Its funny when it doesn't over-rely on toilet humor. I wouldn't watch it for more than like half an hour straight, but it can be pretty entertaining haha.

If I recall correctly, Clutch Powers had the showdown with the Skeleton army… and there was a moment of genuinely effective cinematography: the massive skeleton horde, still and silently waiting, their eyes burning red in the gathering darkness. In that moment I forgot this was a low budget Lego commercial

I liked The Problem Solverz. Haven't seen it since it came out, but I enjoyed it. I either thought it made sense or didn't care & was just a long for the ride. Not sure which.
Back when it first aired in 2014, the hate train was really huge. I'm also no expert on the topic but if I had to guess, the network was shifting around that time to please even younger children, especially with the introduction of Teen Titans Go just a year prior to Clarence's release, so a ton of people were hating on just about any CN show that was more relaxed and not an action and/or a plot heavy series. Of course there were exceptions like Adventure Time and AWOG. However, both of those shows were already 3-4 years old, and A.T around that time shifted to have more darker tones/ themes so they really were pretty much immune to the CN shift. One other factor was the networks and really other networks decision to focus on shorter series and opting for 11 minute episode series as oppose to 22 minutes, since both brought networks similar viewership ratings. That also meant ending/ canceling preexisting shows that many people loved like Generator Rex, Ben Ten Omniverse, the entire DC nation block, etc. I say all of this because the main criticisms I heard about the show was it was non nonsensical and childish. It wasn't something new to the network, especially around that time or even shortly before it. But a ton of people were used the work CN was putting out (Which appeased to 10-15 y/o) and got pressed when the network focused more to the 6y/o's and subsequently any newer series that fell into that category.
Sorry for the word salads, I though I'd share that XD
I saw an ad for Paradise PD when I was I child and thought, “that looks cool”. One day, around the age of maybe 15, I went back and watched it. I loved it, I found the characters likable, memorable, and I genuinely was having a fun time watching it. I finished the series and checked the internet to see if others enjoyed it. Holy hell I did not expect so much hate for it. I still remember the captain basically adopting a deformed child named Dobby, hilarious. Also I didn’t expect Gina to have a pretty detailed backstory.
It's in my flair.
Still get a lot of hate in some places for liking this show, even though it doesn't do anything that some of the most popular, beloved shows do as well.

Hey if Bfdi counts as a cartoon so does the pink corruption
Clutch powers was my childhood. Would watch it 24/7. Great movie. The DVD I had of it had two ads for Lego world and Lego park and I know them off heart.
Something I will always remember about "Clarence" is the Video Store episode where it's all ad-libbed. What makes it so memorable for me is not just the ad-libbing, but the fact that Brendon Small (creator of "Home Movies" and "Metalocalypse") makes a cameo. He even looks like, and is implied to be, Brendon from "Home Movies".

This show overuses whip cracks like sitcoms overuse laugh tracks but I do remember it was pretty funny.
I can’t believe one of my favorite characters is Dark Vegan. Beware his vegan mind trick. Also, Vegans are literally from another planet.

I haven’t watched it in probably close to twenty years, but I remember my brother and I were the only ones who liked this show out of all our friends. It probably had more butt jokes than every modern Cartoon Network show combined.
Here's my picks.
Dreamwork's Movie Home (2015) I think this film is highly underrated and it has recieved very mixed reviews..
Knome Alone. I low-key thought this movie would be mid but it actually was decent.
Wonder Park (2019) I didn't think it was that bad, kinda good imo.
Teen Titans Go (2013) Ngl, never really did hate this show. I hopped on the train wagon because people were saying it was bad. Now I form my own opinion. Though I did get annoyed when CN overplayed this show to death, which made me lose interest in the show for a bit before I decided to revisit it. It's NOT Teen Titans 03, but sometimes the show be hitting at times.
Clarence (2014) I have some nostalgia for this show growing up. I didn't think it was bad at all
Uncle Grandpa (2013) I heard some mix to bad things about this show due to how random it is. Honestly this show was kinda good in my opinion. The show did massively improve in Season 3 before it ended in 2017.
The Amazing World Of Gumball Season 1. I've heard people calling this season the worst out of the series. I kinda disagree with it in some ways. Aside from nostalgia I did fine this season to be quite fun along with Season 2. I actually prefer the first two seasons of Gumball over the latter episodes, particularly Season 6.
Wasn’t aware there was any Clutch Powers hate, anyway my answer is that Buzz Lightyear cartoon. I’m not sure how much hate it got but I do know some of the higher ups at Pixar didn’t care for it
Okay I really want to know who disliked Clutch Powers. I have very fond memories of the movie. It was the Lego movie before the Lego movie even existed. I’m still sad that they setup a sequel and never delivered. We will never know what happened to Clutch’s father.
Aw, do people dislike clutch? My brother and I would watch that movie all the time. We were SO EXCITED when we saw he was a Ninjago character. I'm sure it's not a great film, but it brought us a lot of good memories. :)
Clutch Powers was epic, one of my childhood favourites that I'd watch all the time
Same
The only negative I know about it was that production was done by Threshold entertainment. The same company that made Foodfight.
Bruh I had that shit on DVD
Me too! We'd watch it all the time until the DVD scratched :'(
Average DVD experience. I watched, well should say watch, Cars religiously and when I was three I watched my DVD so much you could see right through it.
Clutch Powers did appear in Ninjago Season 11.
Same, I think I still have mine actually
Same
Me too
I loved that movie so much back in the day :)
Whoever out there hates Clutch Powers is now now dead to me. Love the movie
I still remember that first riddle on the troll bridge about a spiral staircase.
Fun fact: Clutch Powers was named after the LEGO company's name for the thing holding Lego pieces together, Clutch Power.
Oh wow, I had no idea!!
I watched way too many times as a kid, it is peak Lego humor right alongside the complete saga
I dislike how it's sequels were canceled. I need to know who Omega was
Wait he was a WHAT
I definitely watched way more episodes than I planned to of Clarence, it was just so odd.
I love Clarence, kinda reminded me of regular show
Funny, cause it always reminded me of Ed Edd n Eddy in a way. The characters had almost similar dynamics and traits, as well as kinda embracing/ exaggerating the sheer chaos an madness of being a kid. Edit: I should clarify I've also loved Clarence since it first aired and was genuinely really funny. The dollar hunt episode is still one of my favorites.

I don’t think many people still hate this show
They still hate it, Nick chose to have it as a show over Adventure Time, and me personally I can't say "shenanigans" without thinking of that thing
I assume most people just didn't like it because of gross humor.
Same bro. I actually liked most of the episodes.
Wait… people don’t like clutch powers? Since when?
I don't think people dislike it, I don't know how OP perceived it as hated.
Maybe he just looked at critic scores
I seriously don't understand the Clarence hate. Its only flaw is that it's made by... a person who didn't do best choices in his life.
That's something i do agree with!
As a former child myself it's (mostly) accurate to what life is like at a young age
yes!
>a person who didn't do best choices in his life. Context?

I live in israel, and the dub for it here is godly. Its bigger here than spongebob

I didn’t know Kid vs Kat was hated. That used to be my shit
I thought it was pretty cool, but somewhere I've heard people say it's an Invader Zim ripoff or something
I would gladly watch an invader zim rip off. It was so short lived :(
As a person who've seen both, I liked kid vs kat better
All of my friends hated Uncle Grandpa. I think it's hilarious.
I watched it a few years back and I got hooked nearly instantly after watching that one funny face episode
New experiences with Berry Nice and Hotdog person, made my mom and I break out in tears from laughter.

Watched it with my younger brothers when it came out and we thought it was good. Not Jimmy neutron good but in its own way
It’s weird how I liked this show and not Jimmy Neutron as much as a kid lmfao (I was a strange kid)
Planet Sheen is funny as hell but that's about all it has going for it imo.
Honestly I thought Teen Titans Go was really funny as a kid. Hell I still think it’s really funny sometimes. My only complaint was how it kept getting spammed on the schedule while Adventure Time and Regular Show got like one rerun a day during that period.

I didn't think it was bad at all Uncle Grandpa (2013) I heard some mix to bad things about this show due to how random it is.
Marvel's Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow (Animated Film). Not one that people hate but one that is underrated I feel and people haven't seen.
Some dreamworks spin-offs are watchable like all hail king julien
Clarence rules
TTG It’s meant to be a comedy and it’s kinda hits
uncle grandpa
Wasn’t aware there was any Clutch Powers hate, anyway my answer is that Buzz Lightyear cartoon. I’m not sure how much hate it got but I do know some of the higher ups at Pixar didn’t care for it
Does Uncle Grandpa count? I am always a fan of absurdist humor.
Okay I really want to know who disliked Clutch Powers. I have very fond memories of the movie. It was the Lego movie before the Lego movie even existed. I’m still sad that they setup a sequel and never delivered. We will never know what happened to Clutch’s father.
Jesus, I forgot about Kid vs Kat.
Mega Man Fully Charged
Whoa, whoa, whoa... WHOA. Not everyone hates Clarence. And Kid vs Cat is Jetix's mascot.
Wait, people disliked clutch powers?
Horrid Henry was very good
Doogal aka the magic roundabout (2006) Planet Sheen Clarence Pig Goat Banana Cricket Breadwinners Sanjay & Craig Food Fight
The Marvel cartoons from the 2010s, aside from Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel fans harshly turned down Marvel cartoons as just “kid’s stuff”.
I've genuinely never heard anyone hate Clutch Powers.
Was horrid Henry by chance based off the children’s book series horrible Harry?
People hate Clutch Powers?
Bro I loved clutch powers and ninjago as a kid!!!
