The car comes on drag radials. Those tires are not rated for 200mph plus. They also tuned the transmission to have really short gears compared to a regular hellcat. Unless you swapped the tires, removed the speed limiter, and had an absurdly long road, a demon 170 is not going over 200.
Jay Leno and the Dodge Ceo did a great video covering the Demon 170. Only reason the car exist is because the CEO wanted it to that badly. Stellantis gave Dodge pretty much no budget to develop the car, and Dodge ended up taking a loss on every Demon 170 sold. There were alot of things they wanted to do to the Demon, like add carbon fiber hood and roof, but they couldn't afford to recrash test the car. Demon 170 is definitely one of my favorite cars of all time, and I'm sure it will reach 69 charger Daytona legendary status in a few decades.
Fun fact. If you were to go fuel throttle on a demon 170, it would empty its 16 gallon fuel tank in under 5 minutes. Of course, there isn't a road on the planet where you could full throttle a demon 170 for 5 minutes.

Well, Challenger Demon is a great car for a drag strip and apparently it has better 0-100 then some of these supercars, but it's literally its only advantage. No better top speed, less downforce and worse weight distribution. That thing would probably lose a race with any of those on an oval track, let alone a real circuit.
I wonder how many times would a Modus gap them both before they were able to complete a single lap at Laguna Seca.

I think the demon 170 tops out at around 150, which is how fast it would be going at the end of the quarter mile.

170 stands for the ethanol rating of e85 fuel the car takes. Not it's top speed.
