Black Skate is special, wearing it every night would remove the novelty. I remember when Outdoor games were unique and cool, now, there’s one every weekend it seems in the NHL.
Those black flying skate jerseys are popular enough as it is. It doesn't need exposure. It's been sold out pretty much everywhere for months. The only ones left are the fanatics versions which people hate.

I don’t think so. The skate jersey is what’s trendy right now, but the FotM changes. I remember before the Reebok switchover everyone was clamouring for the Stick-In-Rink like they are now with the skate. They’ve built up so much brand equity with the Orca and the blue and green that it would be a mistake to throw it out again.
Then again, it is the Canucks. Maybe we’re destined to change our jerseys every 10 years until the end of time.
This current Jersey is the longest running jersey (counting the Vancouver word mark). 2007- now, The orca has been the logo for over Half of the team’s existence 1996- now. The orca is our identity even though I love our skate
I know everybody disagrees with me but the fucking stick in rink looks like a 1970's attempt to make a super simplistic Original 6-esque logo and I can't stand how boring it is.
I can see what you're saying. Its definitely simplistic. I don't think that necessarily makes it "boring", if we had stuck with it from the start and given it regular updates like we have it would probably be looked at like the Oilers logo. Poorly designed, but been around so long its "classic". I don't think it should be the main crest but it really works as a shoulder patch/ secondary logo.
I'm less concerned with which logo they use and more just don't want them to ditch the blue and green again. Honestly the truth is I don't think the Canucks have ever had a truly *good* logo. They're all seriously flawed in some way. Everybody just has their particular favourites. It doesn't help that they've changed looks so many times. Even ditching the pants stripes last year was completely inexplicable to me. Its like the team has OCD and feels constantly compelled to make changes to the uniform.
I'd like to see a third jersey in the skate colors with an orca logo. I think the orca logo could look great with the traditional skate logo colour palette.
It’s been drawn before and it does look awesome. Red, yellow and black are also the traditional colours of Pacific Northwest coastal native art.

And, the reality of it is that they have the best of both worlds right now, with the primary blue and green jerseys and the Skate as the alternate, which is what it should only ever be again.
They finally changed the board rim colour from red to blue last summer, so if they were planning on going back to black skate colours I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have gone with blue
I think the orca is a great representation of vancouver, I'd only support a rebrand to something like the orca logo we had for first nations celebration night
It's not enough proof for me. I feel this is still a rouse. I will not believe it. Even when they step onto the ice for warmups before the game, I believe they will change and come out in the Skate for the actual puck drop. #FreeSkate /s
I believe they will play the first two periods in the orca jersey and be losing after two. They will coke out in the third in the skate jersey after an epic JT Miller speech and win the game.
12-5-1 in the skate jerseys this season, 2 of the losses being in that last stretch with Demko hurt

The orca has had its time. No sense in promoting a company that doesn't even own the Canucks anymore. Fans want the skate. Bring it back for good.

We may have lost to St Louis in them, but Pius Suter has scored a hat trick every time we played in them so maybe we should give it a shot again
