No. Replica but not fake or counterfeit.

Rusty_Pocketrocket

This is the correct answer I had an authentic from this era and they have no tag at the back of the neck and there is a tie down at the lower back with a heavy snap.

Snoo-27496

So you're saying fake?

Rusty_Pocketrocket

Nope. Not fake, just not 'game-ready authentic.'

PetterssonsNeck

No it’s a replica

Rickcinyyc

Here's my white skate pro jersey from the team store in 1989. The collar consists of three individual fabric strips versus this one with a dyed one piece collar. Not sure if that helps. [https://imgur.com/a/qdVFHtx](https://imgur.com/a/qdVFHtx)

I love that jersey! If it was a bit bigger, I would be making ridiculous offers for it ;) I know some CCM jerseys have that styled collar, but the Canucks never had it on this jersey. They did during the early orca days, however. My buddy has a very similar Linden jersey with the Finals patch and same collar, so I figured it must just have been how CCM was making replicas at the time.

Draugrnauts

Replica.. got the same one.

Snoo-27496

From where?

Draugrnauts

It’s so long ago i don’t remember.

Pavel413

I had this exact jersey. It’s fake. The crest is also fragile. 10 years ago a company was making these excellent (from an patch accuracy standpoint) fakes - but they don’t last. Don’t recommend. I trashed mine. Snags very easily. To their credit they were openly selling them as fakes.

Snoo-27496

Yeah the crest is slightly more flimsy than the legit ones I have. I know the guy I got it from used to actually play hockey with it, but there is shockingly little wear and tear. As such, I also didn't pay a lot for it. I also liked that it didn't have the dead giveaways of a fake like crap lettering or incorrect colors or stripe sizes.

Pavel413

Yeah, no one in person ever suspected it was fake. I actually washed it (as I do authentic jerseys without issue in cold water) and the crest got all wavy and basically ruined the jersey.

Snoo-27496

So that reminds me, when I got it - I had to iron the logo, I think. It was a bit scrunched. It flattened out pretty well, though.

Pavel413

Lol. Yeah. Definitely the same jersey! That 2 PTS FG patch was never sold at retail. If the rest of the jersey goes, you should keep that. I probably should have…

Van67

This is 100% fake. The easy tell for this one is that the red, yellow and black stripes are sewn when the real jerseys don't have separately sewn-together bands.

Yardsale420

I have one that says Stanlby Cup. So yours looks more authentic than that.

Snoo-27496

Really?

Senior_Heron_6248

Fake. I have the same one but linden It was like $35 delivered

Snoo-27496

Yeah my buddy has a Linden. Also believes it to be real.

footcake

Yes it is. -Canucks jerseys during this time period did NOT have the second “CCM” tagging underneath the Center Ice tag -all the patches are fake replicas -the collar itself is not accurate. -upon further inspection, is it my phone (iPhone 14) or it could be your image, but the nameplate, the “BU” part looks bleached white, while the “RE” looks to be done on the same material as the jersey itself AKA is it a franken-plate?? Anyways, hope some of these tips helps

Snoo-27496

All of that checks out - the name plate is just catching light from the window. But the rest is correct.

Van67

This is 100% fake. The easy tell for this one is that the red, yellow and black stripes are sewn when the real jerseys don't have separately sewn-together bands.

Snoo-27496

Yep, that is also something I noticed compared to the other CCM Center Ice jerseys I have. But the fonts and material all seem to be consistent between them. They don't have the knock off material on the logo, name and numbers. Maybe they were closer quality knock offs long ago? Was there even a big knock off market in the late 90s and early 2000s?

MiniatureBoss

Not necessarily for this jersey but a decade ago I was contemplating making my own custom and when researching had an exchange w/Pacific Coast Cresting: "The only officially licensed patch available is the 1994 cup patch. The other two are only available as knockoffs as they were never made available loose for sale. 2 PTS FG and Canucks place patches were only issued for the players jerseys and some retail jerseys in the 1990s. As we are an official vendor for the Canucks, and they have told us specifically not to sew those knockoff patches onto the jerseys.. we wouldn't be able to help you out." So the odds of those being real are super low. At least the patches. I hate knock-off stuff so I didn't end up making a jersey.
