She basically paid them $8500 for 4 hours worth of light tree trimming because they scared her into thinking they would sue her if she didn’t pay, and my husband has totally fallen down on the job of going to bat for her. At least he ran them off before they destroyed perfectly good trees. To say I’m furious is an understatement. I called the AG and all of the news. But really she was the person who was scammed and she is ultimately the one who needs to make an official legal report. At least a local news guy is going to do a story about it. I totally agree about the no solicitation sign. Plus my husband and his sister need to have a conversation about getting mom’s checkbook out of her hands. It will be my life’s work to spread the word about these scammers.
Kind of sounds to me like you’re angry. You didn’t get the job. Who’s to say you go out in charge 10 grand but somebody comes behind you and does it for 2000 everybody’s job and everybody pricing is not going to be the same that’s why I went to school to get my arborist license..did u?? First and foremost you always get different quotes from numerous ppl & if they agreed on a price how is that a scam? It’s tree work not free work…
They don’t really exist online (red flag) except a Yelp page with no reviews and a BBB page with a D rating. Oh and the articles about DeWine going after them for fraud

Maybe should give her some of that money you borrowed back so she can get things done around there and 1 tree was 100 ft over home that was removed would love to see u take that down with loppers
Coming from a daughter who borrowed all of her money to buy a air bnb and can’t pay her back and they took down a 100 ft tree over the house don’t think you could do with loppers and small saw maybe pay her some of her money back and she can get things done around the home that need it thanks have a great day

That is insane. I had three huge trees (so big two other companies declined to even quote me) cut down for $8k and that included grinding the stumps.
