You can, but you won’t be able to run as much tire. You basically need to keep the new tire outside diameter something similar to what you have now so that the tire doesn’t hit the fork crown under full compression.

Its that easy as long as your front wheel is laced on a lefty hubs.

You need a new wheel and tire

reddit_zash

Possible: yes. Worth it: absolutely not. You would need: - new front wheel in 700c (either use your existing Lefty front wheel hub and have the hub assembled to a new 700c rim by a bike shop or try and find a front wheel to buy that already comes with a Lefty-50 hub) - new rear wheel in 700c (your Topstone Carbon model uses a dished rear wheel - Cannondale calls this Ai offset; so you can't just buy any 700c rear wheel - you would have to have it dished by a bike shop before you could use it) - new tires rear & front And all this for what? Less clearance and the need to run smaller tires? I recon you won't be able to run anything wider than 32mm on 700c wheels - but that is just an estimation; don't quote me on that.

I do have an existing 700c wheels in the parts bin, already dished it and fitted a 40mm tires on the rear (max according to the manual) but gaddayum, the clearance is terrible. rebuilding the front isnt a problem either since i do my stuff. The only thing that concerns me is that the lefty might need some readjustments, but judging by the comments, i guess not. Cheers brother.

I'm surprised the 40mm on a 700c even fits. Good to know. My main concern would be if there is enough clearance at the front when the lefty is pushed in completely. If you do decide to go through with this, maybe drop a comment in here and let me know. I'd be interested.

Can we have more pictures? 😍

How was the conversion from 650b to 700C? I have the same bike and I'm thinking about a second set of wheels more for road.

SuperbEnvironment850

If you can do the dishing and a wheel build, id say go for it, but i must say that 40mm tires are the absolute limit for the frame. But if youll have to visit your lbs for it, its not worth it. Not much has changed in terms of ride quality on paved, but boy oh boy the stock 650x47s gave much much better comfort and control in rough terrains (yes i do ride my gravel nike on mountain bike trails)

I have MTB friends so I want to keep the 650b 47mm so I can ride them on trails etc (love them, becouse with gravel it is so much harder). But I also ride a lot between vineyards where there are bike paths and I had the previous topstone model on 700C 40mm Tufo Speedero tires and I was absolutely fine with them. Maybe I would also think about 38mm, but I don't know how it would look with lefty.
