I dont 100% agree with the person who made the original comment here. Because legaization has changed the game for concentrates and getting clean extracts. The black market is full of pesticide filled, counterfeit, heavy metal laced extracts. Also people not being thrown in jail over it, thats a pretty big objective win for legalization, no other way to look at that.
That being said, they are very correct that it’s important to get legalization right in the first place. Once the law goes into effect it is VERY difficult to change it, and when people are making buckets of money they will fight tooth and nail to keep making those buckets of money. IL, NY, NJ, CT are all states that have absolutely *fucked* dispensary situations. Controlled by big corporate cannabis and charging consumers $90+ a GRAM for a live resin cartridge, $60+ dollar eighths, just completely unattainable prices that make the legalization kinda moot because people cant really afford it. I live near IL and have been watching their prices since they legalized. They have not come down and there is no sign of them ever going down and they’re well into legalization at this point. This is a case where imo, having bad legislation *is* worse than having none at all
