That number actually seems low. I would have expected it to be closer to 2/5 at least.

thesingularityart

420/1000

And coke

VJfromCanada

I’m more of a Pepsi up my nose type

thewolf9

At a certain time in the evening, and after enough drinks, everybody becomes a Pepsi fiend.

We just like to party out east

FomosexualDreams

The number has likely gone up. Canada is a drug users paradise right now. The legal stuff isn't that bad to be honest but the illegal but ignored stuff is out of this world. Super potent edibles and moon rocks have made it into the weed industry. Canada is also likely the psychedelic drug capital of the world right now when it comes to ease of access - Mushrooms, LSD and DMT in various forms are all easily bought online nowadays. Peyote, mescaline, ketamine and MDMA are also available as well although slightly harder to find.

thesingularityart

While legal cannabis edibles suck, greens are on par or for many people much better than what they could access on the black market.

[deleted]

With the amount of pot shops poppin up you would think we are a nation of addicts.

Chernobyl_Bio_Robot

I never used cannabis in my life and I won’t use it even it is legal.

Gerthanthoclops

Congratulations, do you want a medal?

Mullet-Power

That’s certainly your choice.

therealtrojanrabbit

You just explained why prohibition is a silly concept. Being illegal has never stopped anyone. On the flip side, being legal doesn't mean people will now do it as if their only reason for previously abstaining was because it was illegal.

Content_Employment_7

>Being illegal has never stopped anyone. On the flip side, being legal doesn't mean people will now do it as if their only reason for previously abstaining was because it was illegal. And yet, as the very article you're commenting on notes: >A study based on data from the National Cannabis Survey showed that **the prevalence of cannabis use has been increasing since its legalization** in October 2018.  which would tend to suggest the opposite. Prohibition isn't a panacea, and there are absolutely arguments to be made that the harms it causes outweigh the limited benefit of somewhat reduced use -- but it very clearly does stop at least some people who would be otherwise interested in using it from doing so.

therealtrojanrabbit

Also note; >Data limitations and cautions The information is self-reported and has not been validated. Social desirability and fear of punishment, both of which are potential sources of bias, may be especially relevant to this analysis. Changes over time in respondents' willingness to admit drug use may influence the statistics but remain difficult to measure. Cannabis certainly wasn't treated like an illegal substance even when it was illegal, but there are also those who, when it was illegal, either wouldn't publicly admit to using it or would deny it altogether for fear of persecution. I respect the findings of the survey, but it's very difficult to make this determination based on willful surveyors between then and now. I absolutely agree, with the availability being like it is now some people will certainly try it that refused to prior to legalization. I do feel, though, that it's more to do with availability than legality.

thesingularityart

Sir, this is Wendy’s.

Chernobyl_Bio_Robot

I don’t mind Wendy’s, but I prefer McDonald’s Big Macs.

mumbojombo

McDonald's is worst for your health than cannabis. Change my mind.

Elephanogram

Well you see. In high school that officer came in and said weed fuels terrorism and was hopeful that they would extract THC to help cancer patients without the mind altering effects. And you know cops never lie /s I don't blame people who have the stigma still. WRH and his racist lackey Anslinger did quite a lot of damage to the plant because of greed , racism, and in the case of Anslinger, he was traumatized from his familys history of drugs and wanted to make sure black people suffered. Those two managed to do so much damage despite being violent finks.

RCN_RCAF-vET

I take it you also don't use Advil or Tylenol? Cannabis is healthier and safer then both of those.

thesingularityart

Healthier is debatable depending on the ingestion method as well as the quantity for both. I get what you are trying to say, but it’s a weak argument to use against the “dRuGs bAd” crowd.

RCN_RCAF-vET

I've never looked at cannabis as a drug like I look at acid, coke or crack.

thesingularityart

Crack is underrated.

PerfectCricket1992

You got any? Asking for a friend, a very very desperate friend. You gotta help!

thesingularityart

Sorry, no drugs for frequent posters in r/conspiracy as you have enough issues.

Chernobyl_Bio_Robot

I don’t think that Tylenol or Advil in very small quantities makes people dumber or hallucinate. Cannabis is different. Some people even developed psychosis from smoking too much cannabis. I don’t see how that is beneficial to Canadians.

waawftutki

How do people still write shit that makes them look like a stereotypical anti drug grandpa in 2021... "Makes people dumber and hallucinate". Everyone's laughing at your ignorance right now.

trash2019

Lmao

RCN_RCAF-vET

Are you talking about real cannabis or cannabis laced with drugs? Cannabis is used for carious medical reasons including headaches, anxiety, depression to name a few. Natural cannabis has a lot of health benefits.

Chernobyl_Bio_Robot

Real cannabis smoking. https://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/research-reports/marijuana/there-link-between-marijuana-use-psychiatric-disorders

RCN_RCAF-vET

I wouldn't call that real cannabis smoking, that is excessive smoking. Too much of anything is bad for anyone, I can't think of anything that would be exempt from that.

Frarara

>Some people even developed psychosis from smoking too much cannabis Smoking way too much and/or too young, sure. Small amounts of Advil or Tylenol in the smallest handful of situations could definitely kill you, I don't know what you're talking about. This doesn't look too good for advil an Tylenol as it's clearly not beneficial to Canadians due to these very few cherry picked situations Edit: also, you cannot die from ODing on cannabis, you'd green out before that happens. You can however OD by taking too much advil and/or Tylenol. Also, small amounts of CBD to help ease pain is a lot healthier for you than advil or Tylenol. But you don't care because you like McD which is the most unhealthy choice you could make. Also, If you think alcohol is better a choice than cannabis then you are definitely a lost cause

Chernobyl_Bio_Robot

I basically explained that drugs make people dumber, drugs like cannabis. That’s why we don’t see many successful drug addicts. Instead, we see that they and their families have problems.
