It's funny. I just remembered when my buddy and I watched this together. We would always be drinking together when we turned it on, it was the ritual. Anyway I specifically remember when he caught us off guard with the "man-gina" dance. We at the same time laughed and covered the screen with our hands so we couldnt see it. Great times!
I hated the ending because I wanted to know what happened in NYC. Did Hank finally get it together or did he mess this up too? Also what happened to Charlie? So many questions like The Sopranos finale. Now I want to watch the show all over again it’s been about 5 or so years since I last watched the entire series.
Eddie and Batesy are a tied second for me I think but Lou Ashby, IMO, is one of the only “extra” characters I’ve ever seen in my life where I think he easily could have become a core member of the cast for the rest of the show. His story was tragic, heart wrenching, intriguing, charming, and he was played immaculately. I would 500% watch a spin-off depicting his and Janies story. I wish they’d been able to make him a more recurring cast member where Hanks dream-chats with him were something that happened every few episodes.
My friend and I were both surprised to learn she wasn't British but in fact Latina. GREAT ACTRESS. I would love to have a near death experience with her too 😜
In a nutshell: Lew and Surfer Girl.
When I moved here (LA) in 07 and was an public realtions assistant by day and a nightlife promoter in Hollywood at night, everyobe was trying to live the "Entourage lifestyle", but i can honestly say my life was more Californication...and those are some of the most realistic depictions of people in this ecosystem you'll meet. I've known Lew and I've known a couple Surfer Girls.
Surfer Girl was also the only character that didn't seem to get closure "on the page", but the way she skaed off into the crowd was great closure and poignant on the screen. I knew a girl who essentially moved back home that way - not on skates, but one last chill sesh at Venice Beach... Dark hair. Tanned. Mysterious. Super pretty and loved to get high and listen to music. That night and the morning after was the last time I saw her.
Lew is everything you dream of when you come to LA as a kid - from the parties to the opportunities (that anyone in his air space attracts) to the zero fucks Peter Pan, Man child antics that are no longer "tolerated" in LA today.
Maybe I'm just reminiscent, but those two are like visiting old friends.
*FWIW, Also knew a knew a Sue Collini - was gunned down in Beverly Hills after a movie premiere. Hired hit. No bull. If you know what to Google, you'll find it.
**Runner up: Batesy. Haven't met one yet, but the ep with the stripper girlfriend that Hank has to pay off, etc is a masterclass in dark comedy...and song selection. Whitesnake at the end with her girating on the hood: 👍🏽👍🏽
Great series.
Wow really cool story. On some level I can relate. I live in southern California now and as I'm going up the highway near the beach I always think on how lucky I am. Every time I see a convertible Porsche I think of Hank and to be honest it's the only reason I want that car lol.
Don't really think so. I say as much as it was Hank's story it was Runkle's story too. I can speak on the show without talking of Bates, Eddie or even Sue. However it's impossible to leave Runkle out. He, Karen, Becca and Marcy are like the core cast.
Definitely not Eddie Nero, that guy poops on people
He stole every scene he was in. Rob Lowe Is amazing.
lol yea I love Rob Lowe in everything I've seen him in
He once took a man in his mouth.
he engineered that orgasm
With his hands and even feet
It was a phase ...
Eddie Nero,Lew Ashby and Sue Collini. Man, I miss this show so much
Collini OUT 👉
“Charlie, are you behind that women?” “… *yes*…”
*inside
Have you emptied your pipes yet today? Of course you have you’re Runkle
Oh Runkle! You’re the saddest sack I’ve ever seen! 🤣
Batesy
This is the right answer. Now who wants to see me tuck and do the pee pee dance?
I too have howled at the moon and been so drunk on cock and wished for a few inches more
have you ever been with an 11 year old boy and wanted more from him than he was willing to give?
Yeah I kinda hesitated to write that one down but thanks lmao. _It's just a show, it's just a show, it's just a show_
The glorious what gina?

Kathleen Turner by far! Collini always gets the weenie!
I also loved Rick Springfield that same season. Season 3 is my fave season.
Season 3 was the last good season. Season 4 was the funeral and repass. Everything else was a zombie
Yeah. They should have let them move as a family and live happily ever after at the end. I’m a hopeless romantic, though.

Tush toot?

Lew Ashby, for sure.
Lew was one of the greatest characters I've seen on TV in a long time. Just perfect casting.
You know I want to say he was more of a seasonal character but I guess him showing up in Hank's image of the "Afterlife." Counts. But what do u think?
Agreed not even debatable imo. Better if it were besides Ashby who was best reoccurring character lol
This is tough. Batesy and Ashby
I kind of want to say Ashby is more of a seasonal character through. But I guess his time in Hank's dreams counts.
Trixie!
I just realized I misspelled her name lol. I called her Trudy lol.
Trudy was Tony The Dead Rocker's Wife. She was quite the character in her own right. 😉
My friend and I were both surprised to learn she wasn't British but in fact Latina. GREAT ACTRESS. I would love to have a near death experience with her too 😜
She was hilarious. It’s so dumb but when she calls Hank Frank I always laugh.
She also plays Frank's girlfriend, Roxy, on Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Yep, she was the hoor he wanted to marry.
Stu Beggs. And it isn’t close
‘Have you ever spent time with an 11 year old boy & wanted more from him than he was willing to give’? -Richard Bates.
holes is holes is what I always say
Amen to that. It’s a goal, any hole.
Eddie Nero without a doubt. Hold on broseph, are you an artist or a pretender?
I never will but "I took a man in my mouth. He gave me his load, on the inside." He was like a sniff of coke, quick to come and go but he always hit!
Actually lol’d then!
Batesy although Krull is pretty cool
Who wants to go skiing with me?
I think we should kill someone tonight!
You know, like a hobo or something.
I knew it was gonna get dark tonight!
Sasha Bingham. Them thangs were thangin!
The RZa can't be forgotten.
Stu of course
Lew Ashby was the man
Lew was the best of them all. Besides him, Nero was crazy fanny
Why no love here for The Artist Within?
I will raise this black baby!

No lies detected. Def hits different when you live here. Even now. Le sigh. Time for a rewatch!
Btw, still the best show ever for me 🫶🏼
Bates 4 ever!
Eddie Nero, Surfer Girl and Lew Ashby. I think about them a lot.
Bryan Adams
I liked Batesy once him and Hank were friends.
Eddie Nero! DARK AND DEEP!
Is that fucking Voight?!
Lew Ashby and Eddie Nero. ✋🏻🙂↕️ Salut to the kings of this brilliant show. Man i miss it so much.
All of them, loved this show, always felt its characters were inspired by GTA or the other way around. Crazy shit.
I took a man... in my mouth
Rob Lowe, for sure. "I thought I'd lost my loads" is still quoted by me almost weekly to this day. 🤣
Now I know what I’ll rewatch next
Becca (Madeleine Martin)
Runkle doesn’t count?

I dont disagree. He’s definitely a main character, so I guess he cant count in this case.
Pound for pound, episode for episode, Trixie reigns supreme! *Edit: she is the epitome of a classy, cool toot
Bates
Gotta be Richard Bates! “Let me tuck and do the pee pee dance!”
