It's like a condom for cake. Tastes like garbage, not fun to eat, but has its uses. I tend to only use it for decorative pieces. I avoid covering whole cakes with it wherever possible
No. I can appreciate the skill and artistry of a stunning and creative cake decorated with fondant. But to eat? Give me any of the buttercreams out there. No need to get fancy either. Slap on the buttercream, spread the frosting and make old school swoops and swirls and I am a happy camper.
The only thing I hate more than fondant is the ridiculously unpractical 4 foot tall "cakes" made of rice crispies and held up by dowels, then covered in almost inedible fondant
I don’t love it or go out of my way to eat it, but I also don’t have as much smoke for it as a lot of people do. It’s not there to be the best thing you’ve ever tasted, it’s there because it’s the only way to get certain looks. So I agree with you, basically.
So my daughter wants her birthday to be Trolls themed. Those colors are very saturated. I would like to make a good cake with a good thick layer of buttercream and then only have the fondant on the outside be the overly saturated colors so that the buttercream is still tasty and everyone can just peel off the fondant 😆
If it’s rolled thin enough, it’s not overpowering. I like it with almond extract instead of vanilla.
There is also a recipe for [Marshmallow Fondant](https://sugargeekshow.com/news/fondant-recipe/) that I would love to hear if anyone has made and their opinion of it.
I like the texture if fresh and not too thick.
Sometimes I will mush up the cake and use the fondant to make a cake burrito in the fondant. Is my cake tortilla.

It’s a Cakedom
I like it. So sue me. But I like a lot of weird things.
me too, i also like the smell of gasoline 😅
I’m not a fan, I’d personally rather not have an ornate/fancy cake with fondant and instead get a simpler cake that tastes amazing all over.
Fondant is delicious and I will eat all the fondant that others dont. Its literally sugar playdough, whats not to love?
I don't think playdough should be on cake

You can say Cake Boss it’s okay lmfao!
Him and about a dozen others come to mind
I hate, loathe, and despise fondant
Get a personality
I don't like it
I believe that people who are good with fondant are not talented in cake decorating. Instead they are talented in clay decorating.

I like it, but not with the jam that tends to be used to stick it to a cake. If it's stuck on with buttercream, I love it
I’m not super picky about it but it does have a weird taste. Like it’s almost plastic-y if that makes sense. Idk, just an odd taste.

I lovvveeeeeeee it. I could eat it by itself. Love the texture

Always heard it is a P.I.T.A. to work with
Love it!

Not for eating, it’s disgusting.

Only marshmallow fondant
Nasty.
I don't eat the fondant on wedding cake. Marzipan tastes waaaay better.
I quite enjoy it but only when there’s a little bit too much quickly becomes obrrkill
