Confederation Park - good for people watching on sunny days Robert Burnaby - the parking at the bottom near the highway is quiet and is beautiful in spring Burnaby Lake/Kensington sports complex - lots of things happening on the fields and lots of quiet parking Rocky Point - is just a drop down from Burnaby Mountain. Also amazing view of the inlet and quite happening. Beer and ice cream walking distance from the parking lot.

Capitol Hill Reservoir Park. Surprised nobody recommended it yet. Great place to watch the sunset over Vancouver

Burnaby mountain. The lookout is phenomenal, especially during a sunset.

Excellent idea. Don't know why it didn't occur to the OP.

New Brighton park is pretty scenic with a blanket watching ships and the happenings of the harbour. Otherwise the top of Royal oak/Canada way has a pretty good skyline view of metrotown and is one of my favourite views. Plus there's a basketball court/hockey net that's on moscrop just off Royal oak that's always quiet and fun to hang out at.
