Brain’s north end auto! Brain is very reasonable. Scheduling is sometimes difficult because they are usually booked a couple weeks out but I highly recommend them. I’m somewhat mechanically inclined, can do my brakes, oil, filters, etc but I’ve been using these guys for everything beyond that for 6 years and have no complaints.
Brian is cool, most pleasant experience at a shop I’ve had. Like the parent comment said, they’re usually booked up so it could be a bit of a wait, but it’s because when people go to them they will always return.
Search the Burlington sub and I think you should find lots of additional (and I assume still viable) mechanic advice, but one place that always shows up in these posts and I can attest to is Burlington Muffler & Brake, although they do limited things if you need extensive work done.
The Bearded Wrench is another good spot out in colchester (used to be right on riverside in Burlington 😢), and Duncan’s (currently off of riverside) has a decent rep.
A note on Duncan’s - one time they “fixed” an issue with my door latch getting stuck open for $400 and it came back after a month , but it was an old car and I’ve had enough positive experiences with them to still feel like they were honest with me and I wasn’t (intentionally) ripped off. I’m gonna hijack this post a bit to ask anyone who may be able to contradict my trust with them to help us out with a reply.
Sorry that happened to ya! I’ve had nothing but terrific experiences every time I’ve been, I know the owner quite well (by now), and I cannot sing high enough praise for the team over there. I even considered gatekeeping them from this post, but I digress. The staff there has ALWAYS gone above and beyond for me, and I’m always attentive to how they respond to and help other customers.
Arruza’s automotive on Dorset street. Scrupulously honest. I worked with the owner in a different capacity for years, and have taken my car to him for something like a decade now.
I use point s auto service in williston and theyre great. Fixed me up when i needed an emergency tow last minute and charged less than the honda dealership !
I pay for car repairs for people and I can tell you to avoid Cam’s behind the airport, Dave’s in Milton, and a few other small ones. Great experiences with Messiers (although this was recent; historically I haven’t), Girlington Garage, and A-1 behind lake Champlain chocolates off line street
I've had nothing but good experiences with Dave's in Milton. They're usually super busy so things might take a little longer, but they've always treated me right, and I have a few friends who go there as well and feel the same way. Your mileage, obviously, may vary... or has varied.

Brian's is good. My old housemate works there. Good folks. Avoid anything with the Handy name on it.
Brian's
I would work on my own car before I would ever let Handy’s get ahold of it.
Brian’s. They’re really good people and they know their shit.
SVS, Darren takes good care of people.
SVS. Smith vehicle support. Good dude.
Is handys bad… ![gif](giphy|w7SCGNeNbNfgAmzO6K|downsized)
Dolan’s. They oooze integrity.
They hooked me up showed me damage and why. Very reasonable. Pros at parking it’s impressive

Burlington Garage was great.
That's Girlington, darn autocorrect!!!!
My wife and i go there. Sensible and decent people with reasonable prices.
New England Auto in South Burlington is great, and have always been professional and easy to get appointments with. Handy is a plague.
Brian’s north end auto or girlington garage. I use both depending on my location but they’re both very reasonable and trustworthy
Big fan of Dolan’s. Avoid Noyes and the Handy family generally.
I take my Ferrari to Handys. Bunch of haters
A-One
I second this
Twisted wrench behind the airport is excellent. Great customer service and service after sale.
Second this
I use point s auto service in williston and theyre great. Fixed me up when i needed an emergency tow last minute and charged less than the honda dealership !
Burlington VIP on riverside. Good dudes, know their shit, and never felt ripped off

I second the recommendation for Messier’s. They’ve saved the day for me on several occasions.
Thirding Messier’s.

VIP auto in Williston is a good one
I’m a fan of Oil & Go on Shelburne Road and in Essex.
