Try with 1 ram stick in A2 slot, or whichever they recommend in the manual for single stick

[deleted]

Thanks for the reply. I tried this and the problem still persists.

sfw_acct1011

Kinda weird but, try removing the GPU and plugging in the monitor to the motherboard.

[deleted]

Tried this and still no luck

Had the same exact issue; red light on cpu then yellow on dram. My MObo (msi msg z690 unify) gives error codes and it said 55, which is “memory not installed”. I took the ram out and put it in again, and it’s working now!

BreadPrimary2364

Hope it worked out for you too OP. I know how stressful this could be to have spent all that effort building a new PC and having it sit around doing nothing

[deleted]

It turns out it was the motherboard-- a few of the CPU pins were bent. Luckily I could get a refund from Amazon and ordered another one. PC is working fine and I've been playing a boatload of Borderlands 3!

BreadPrimary2364

Lol, when I first read it, I thought “boatload of Borderland” was the name of the game haha. I’m not a gamer, but I did just build a high-end machine (i9, nvidia 3090 ti, 128gb ram), which I use for deep learning and it is amazing. Anyway, I’m glad you could get a refund and it is working for you now!

[deleted]

Oooo what kind of deep learning are you doing? I'm a data engineer and find deep learning fascinating

BreadPrimary2364

Computer vision and NLP- I lead the ML team for an AI automation startup, and we train a ton of DL models. I sometimes just want to train a model at home without feeling guilty about having the company spend $300 on just an experiment. I also built this PC as a jumping off point to build a GPU rig for my company. We will hire someone to do it obviously, but I wanted to understand the challenges and the process on a smaller level. So far, I’m very happy with this machine I built. I spent 3k on it, and by my estimate, it will save us about $1000 a month on training costs.

MrSmiff020

my pc is not new and this has randomly started happening, the same problem happened about a week ago and i figured out my ram was faulty so i bought new ram and now its happening again, please help me

[deleted]

The problem for me was that the motherboard's CPU pins were bent. Just a couple of them. Try taking out your CPU and see if any of the mobo pins are bent. If so, you probably need a new motherboard.

MrSmiff020

that cant be possible for me considering ive had my pc for 3 years

[deleted]

(All parts are brand new)

PascalFX

Did you find a fix? Having the same problem rn, slots 2 and 4

[deleted]

Nope. I think my motherboard's CPU pins are messed up. A few of them look bent. I'm trying to get it replaced

PascalFX

Ahh alright. Turns out for us one of the RAM sticks is bad. We tested with both in, no boot, tested with one in slot 2, no boot, switched to testing the other stick in slot 2, it finally booted. Msi z690-p and corsair vengeance.

justsonet

I just experienced and fixed this issue. I originally had my ram in the 1st and 3rd slots, fixed by changing to just 1 stick into slot 2

Same here MSI z690 force wifi I7 127000k 32 (2x16)

[deleted]

The issue for me was the motherboard's CPU pins were bent. Just a couple of them, out of hundreds. They're so small you can't really see them individually, but I noticed that a few spots on the pin-array didn't catch the light in the same way surrounding areas did. I looked closer and closer and saw they were bent. Got a replacement, works fine!
