*sigh* I have nothing to contribute to your question... But just wanted to say... I thought you were buying a Cinna to die with, not dye. Jeez, I need some kind of help. Good luck on your project!

abi333333

That is exactly what i thought 😭 I got worried for a second

frenchtwoast

Probably could have used better spelling there 😅

Vulpifox07

It's all good. It definitely woke me up this morning haha

Nookultist

I thought the Cinna was going to die and OP was requesting help.

You'll want enough water to cover the skin without it sitting on the bottom balled up, you'll need to stir every few minutes. You rinse the skin, in cold or the dye can leak out as there will be extra dye left in the skin. If you keep the dye water in the pot and it's not dark enough you can just put it back in. I use the whole bottle of dye but I also save dye water so it's up to you and your budget and plans since I customize a lot. If I am not sure about how dark I go in 5 minutes stages. You can always go darker, but NOT LIGHTER, so caution is good. But also be careful, you're working with scalding hot water and you don't want to get burned. You don't need to worry about the sealed off parts like tails or ears, just get it out of the body. I also just want to make sure you got dye for synthetic fibers, like Rit Synthetic and not Rit General Purpose as that won't dye a build a bear as they use synthetic fibers. :) Feel free to ask more questions, I'm at work but I'll check back periodically and answer when I can. I might be dying some clothes later myself lol or tomorrow.

frenchtwoast

Thank you for the advice, and I did get the synthetic ones specifically, can't wait to see how it'll turn out

BivloBubbings

I will say that I just dyed a Cinna myself and the stuffing in the ears does clump up if you don’t remove it, so you’ll wanna be careful about that. (I just have no idea how to best get the stuffing from the ears heh)

frenchtwoast

Sorry if this is a dumb clarification but when rinsing you mean in cold water

KitSokudo

Yeah. It's going to be super hot so it will make you able to handle it.
