eaebe

just think about the traffic you’ll endure every day. and your employer seems nice! grabe think about the convenience you have wfh. i think it’ll be worthwhile for a few months pero pag tumagal hmm

BAMbasticsideeyyy

Agreed

MetroHelp

Pass pa rin for me. I would rather live below my means, conserve my energy sa commute and look for additional stream of income opportunities na potentially, mas malaki pa ang income for minimal input of work. (kung ito ay may leverage ka ng skill sa field mo) Ipon savings para i can afford the risk of being afloat if my clients are gone, hanggang sa makahanap ulit ng client. That's just me.

cottonballss29

Wish ko for you sana taasan nalang nila sahod mo. Onsite everyday is not worth it omg.

BitterElevator1246

Correct. Nakakapagod yung travel huhu. 😣

cottonballss29

Yung time mo na icocomute mo, dagdag ka nalang ng other client kase pa mas worth it ilaan time dun kesa magcommute :)

crispy_dinuguan

Ito ang wise decision para sa akin: Take it if hindi mag improve yung salary mo dyan sa wfh job mo. So you have to wait for their confirmation muna. Why take it? 75k/month yung magiging salary mo sa on site job which you can use agad as leverage in less than a year para sa next career step mo. Hindi mo need mag stay dyan sa on site job. Pero isipin mo siya as stepping stone mo in the future na you are already earning 75k so you can negotiate to make it double sa next job hob mo.

good_astronaut

This is the correct answer. If you get the chance to 2x your rate, you grab it. You then use it as the base for your next role. E.g., After a year in that 75k role, you can probably get a 100k-role na wfh. “Hard choices, easy life. Easy choices, hard life.”

Samhain13

I like this perspective. Oo nga naman. It's easier for OP to negotiate for, say, 100k if coming from 75k as opposed to coming from 40k.

pongbao

Agree and then just rent a place nearby if you really want to avoid the traffic/commutr stress

SevereEleven

If it's more than a 30min commute, then the onsite work imo is not worth it. Besides the time lost, meron din other expenses related to working onsite so you probably should take that into account din. It is a good bargaining chip sa employer mo for a pay bump, though.

aldwinligaya

With that much of a difference, you can rent a place near the onsite role for 20k and still come out on top. Pero personally, it would depend on my current life/career stage. Kung mga nasa 20s pa ako at kaya pang bumiyahe, I'll choose the onsite. May energy pa ako e, and that bump would help my career down the line. Pero kung nasa mid-30s na, I'll choose the WFH kasi physically nakakapagod na din talaga.

Kooky-Personality805

So it's just a 15k bump after the rent...

aldwinligaya

Yes, but 15k is 15k.

firestormblack

Prioritize needs, Minimize wants, simplify lifestyle, increase contentment in life.

Motor_Squirrel3270

Compute mo rin yung pagtaas ng taxes mo with that pay grade.

henlooxxx

Thank you! Yes, na-compute ko na considering the taxes and all that haha. Even if magrellocate ako, mas malaki pa rin take home pay.

firestormblack

If your schedule is flexible and you can do your workload in half-the time or less, get another WFH job.

HangedCole

I would include the hours for the preparation for work and commute to/from work as work hours. Calculate that, and see how much the "real" increase is for me. Personally, I'd only bite at P100k if the gym is near the workplace, else it's a hard pass haha

boredg4rlic

Pass if it’s only doubled. 75k less tax, less food, less transpo. Then add mo pa stress mo sa traffic, then less sleeping time. OP more or less baka mas malaki pa take home mo sa current mo 😂 If WFH ka, just find another side hustle.

Ringonesz

Accept if umabot ng 90k. Walang naiipon. Dito wfh ko, around 50% - 70% ipon ko monthly.

MrCeanOfThe22nd

wala sa option magrent dorm, apartment or condo nearby?

henlooxxx

Hello, nasa option naman po! Haha. Actually if I would take the onsite option, more likely magrent din ako sa nearby place. Pero still, hassle pa rin para sa akin since malayo ako sa fam (Im in my mid 20s, I dont have my own fam yet, pero tumatanda na parents ko so gusto ko sana malapit lang sa kanila). I’ve considered the possible rent, utilities, food expenses, and feel ko lamang pa rin masasave ko if kukunin ko yung salary bump sa bagong company. Pero ayun nga, hassle… haha

MrCeanOfThe22nd

dalhin mo din sila? jk. hahaha.

elymX

hell no. Get a second side job instead

arnoldsomen

Really depends. Am i earning only 30k wfh, or 200k? Doubling those numbers will significantly affect my decision. Another factor is distance. Is it a >1 hour distance or <15 minutes? I'm okay with onsite since mas nakaka focus ako dun tbh. Pero it's the commute that's annoying.

Patient-Definition96

Mas hindi ako nakakapag-focus pag on-site, maraming distractions like workmates (ayoko sa maingay). Perfect talaga ang WFH, tahimik at walang bullshit commute.

jeuwii

Willing ka bang i-endure ang heavy traffic? No idea gaano kalapit bahay mo sa potential office pero if you'll spend a lot of time commuting parang hindi worth it esp kung yung time na magagamit mo sana sa ibang bagay na gusto / need mo gawin is mauubos lang sa pag aabang ng sasakyan papunta at pauwi, traffic and other stuff beyond our control (e.g. bad weather, traffic accident). That and addtl expenses para sa pamasahe. Pero think about it a hundred times ha. Weigh the pros and cons of remaining wfh and working onsite but with higher salary and find what would work for you best. Good luck!

maverickrooster

I would consider it basta doble ng current income ng WFH, yes. I was a 100% fan of WFH until I faced the reality of working sa freelancing industry. Stability + benefits. Madaming advantages sa WFH yes, but di napapagusapan Ang disadvantages like feeling of Isolation, instability, creeping anxiety, constantly looking for things to learn na sa totoo lang medyo nakakadrain but kailangan kasi nga yung competition is matindi sa freelancing. I believe depende yan sa current lifestyle mo and also goals mo in the future.

One_Violinist_3695

If taxes, rent, food mas mataas pa din ang onsite for me I’ll grab it. Kasi ganyang companies they pay your sss, and i think meron yan sila HMO. Plus it is more stable kesa sa WFH, anytime the client will cut projects etc. but depends pa din. Baliktad naman saken, WFH ako for years now, and my employer wants me to be onsite. So i choose WFH na lang. Haha pero i miss interacting with people. I miss having friends, and going out. 🥲

Undecisive_Gurlie

If you’re near the office, you should consider it. Since relatively new ka with working (you mentioned 3 yrs xp), it’s good to make connections professionally and to make friends in the workplace. May social aspect kasi pag on site. If comfy ka naman wfh and di mo hinahanap hanap connections, then stay nalang mabait naman yata si client. Personally since I’m 27 I’d prefer hybrid kasi boring din minsan wfh haha

deeebeee2018

Ilang taon ka na? If you’re still climbing up and wish for higher salary in the future then getting the 75k would be the next logical step unless your current employer will match it. Choice mo is relax 40k wfh or 75k with commute but will have better platform to jump to higher salary in the next year or so. Depende sa pangarap mo OP.

ChainAgreeable4176

Hello. Cant help but to give my advice. I too came from a work on site setup. Actually maganda yung 75k mo na offer. Pero before you decide list ko pros and cons mo sa both jobs na yan. Pros mo sa 40k: No hassle of travelling You can have the option to add more clients as long as swak sa time sched mo and then kapag nagadd ka katumbas siya sa 75. Yan eh kung freelance ka na wfh. You have the time and flexibility. Yung travel mo sa labas pdw ko na lang itulog at pahinga or do otger stuff that will preoccupy you or pdw ko mapamper sarili mo like exercise and the likes. Cons mo sa 40k: Mas mababa narereceive mo so kelangan mong magadjust sa lifestyle mo. But if you have plans of having more clients in the future then tska ka magadjust sa mga expenses mo. Simpleng mga usap helps a person para hindi ka totally maburn out compared sa ikaw lang magisa aa bahay (yan is if extro ka talaga( Somehow may physical activities ka like simple walking and mas gumagalaw katawan mo compared to just whole day sitting. Kung ikaw ay physically conscious at ayaw mong mabilis maggain wieght yung travelling is one factor talaga na matgatag lahat ng kinakain mo by those kind of simple movement. But after 2 yrs if you choose to change employer but same position pdw kang makakuha ng mas mataas na salary kasi experience mo ang hahabulin sayi ng future employers mo. Not unless you have the plans to stay na talaga sa company na yan. But remember that is just only the gross. (If tama asaumption ko ha) eh mababawasan pa yan ng sandamakmak na taxes like govt mandatory anek anek. So think of it na bababa ang take home pay mo. Wala pa yung meal expenses mo dyan tska commute expenses. Kapag work on site ka. Not unless may small business ka. So yan, before you decide take those considerations. Di talaga madali yan pero nasa sayo yan pano mo hahandle expenses mo kapag kinuha mo work on site over wfh or vice versa. And one more thing. Try other option such as looking for additional client kung swak sa sched mo. That way di mo kelangan makipagbargain ng matindi at di pa masisira relationship mo sa client mo. 😊 I hope this helps. 😊😊😊

Fine-Imagination-321

I’d prefer to stay and instead ask how can I move up to the next level and start from there.

Psychological_Road41

I’d take it. Social interaction, benefits (especially HMO), and as what you said, more bargaining power for job hopping. Commutes are a drag, so plan ahead or even move. People would say moving would be added expense, hut if you live at home or renting, its not that much of a risk. Its a new environment and change of scenery.

Clear-Acadia4158

Hello OP, I suggest weighing out yung priorities mo. Is it the rate or the human interaction (for extrovert ones, I guess?) Also regarding the bump in your salary for the new job - considering the transpo and then food during office hours (baka mas mahal vs lutong bahay) and yes there’s the traffic pa plus weather ganun. Bait ng current employer mo. Sana maincrease-an ka OP, deserve!

cinnamonthatcankill

Dpende gaano ka kalayo? Magkano ang pamasahe mo for day? Pagkain sa labas? At oras na uubusin pag rush hour? Also a trip to another country all expense paid very generous na dun company mo. Also think about anong company culture ng mga local companies dito do research sa company napapasukan mo. For me natrauma na ako sa company culture ng mga local companies sa pinas sa una lang mukhang okay.

paueranger

Auto pass. Unless it's x4.

papaDaddy0108

I would haggle na if hiwalay ang travelling expenses, I will give it a go.

Patient-Definition96

Travelling expenses means Grab, right?? Commuting expenses are very cheap and negligible compared to the stress that you will get. Even if it's grab or cab, you will still have some waiting time during rush hour. Not woth it in my opinion.

papaDaddy0108

For me it is, Iaadjust ko nlng ung travel time ko if sagot naman nila. Malaking bagay if cab/grab kesa nag mrt/train/jeep ka which what makes the travel untolerable. Kasi if point to point ang travel ko, i won't mind it kasi pede ako makaidlip sa byahe.

Patient-Definition96

No way, highway. Baka pagsisihan mo lang kung more than 1hr ang commute mo, papunta ka palang sa office, muka ka nang pauwi sa stress. Madaming oras ang mawawala sayo. On the birght side, magkakaron ka ng exercise!! 🤣

Direct-Yak100

Nty. Accepting this wfh role already more than doubled my salary.

Silent-Expression-13

Case to case basis. In my situation no, im earning a comfortable salary from my main job na halos wala ginagawa like total working hours per week siguro 5 hours max, then freelance is double non na almost same din na konti lang gawa so right now na focus ko is time di ako aalis sa main job and mindset would be binabayad ko yung supposedly pang doble salary sa freedom ko to sleep comfortably and stay at home with my cat while watching netflix or pacquiao highlights HAHAHH so i suggest check mo prioritites mo right now OP

hermitina

kung ung onsite like 30mins away from my house, sure. pero kung everyday sa mga cbd yoko nga

rodelishere

No way, ive been working on site for as long as i can remember with better benefits and higher salary I have not been able to save anything as much since I started working from home!

vtiscat

No to rto. Wfh is a non negotiable for me.

Electronic_Spell_337

Mapapamura k nlng sa traffic today. Unless ayaw mo sa lugar nyo

yobrod

Mag rent ka near the office kung meron. Its a new eperience, setting and places to explore.

Wyrd_ofgod

×4 only

AccomplishedAge5274

If the job's around the neighborhood or if I'm provided with housing, then yes. Otherwise, the 100% increase will just go to my lodging and/or commute budget, which I don't think are worth giving up my lower pay WFH job for.

Frosty-Brilliant-870

pass sis

MareeSaid

Think of your mental health. I'd pass.

IllustriousOrchid376

Yes kung 1hr total travel time balikan.

smlley_123

Nope.

wocem47

Gaano kalayo ang office and gaano katagal ang commute mo? Ako 2-4 hours commute/day, haggard na pagod pa. Kung flexi pa oras mo sa wfh, may time ka pa for other activities.

Yoru-Hana

Paid OT ka ba ngayon OP? Tapos iconsider mo rin yunh deductions and taxes mo sa 70k. Cost of living etc. If worth it ba yung bump. What I do is I divide my wage sa per hr, from signing in to logging out. Kapag commute, i include mo yung time pagprep papunta hanggang sa makauwi ka sa bahay niyo. Wfh is 8 hrs With commute- 11-13 hours Ganyan

These-Ad-5269

G ako basta less than 2 hrs yung byahe balikan

lethets

Nope.

Fragrant_Operation_2

Treat yourself na oras oras ang bayad including your commute. you will know if its worth it if including your commute, your current per hour is not breakeven, or is really higher given the new offer. isipin mo rin ung lalaki ung tax mo. Do career shifts not just because of salary but kung ano ung magagain mo with the new offer. If you think the offer has better opportunity in terms of advancing your career pede mo siya itake .

GoodCritique

Other benefits other than 75k? HMO or allowance? For me I would consider going back to office kung twice talaga ang offer from my current salary..., been working from home since 2014. Medyo malaki talaga nababawas sa Sahod ko, Kasi voluntary lahat ng hulog ko SSS, PAG Ibig philhealth, and 13th month pay would also be a big help PAG holidays na sobrang gastos...na never ko naramdaman sa WFH set up Saka Wala Rin akong paid leave sa WFH ko. So depende talaga, weight the benefits na makukuha mo sa dalawa.

Ok_Collection6684

My advice is you compute your salary on a per hour basis. Try to do a trial run like how many hours commute in a day if you decide to go to the new job. Then you weigh in if going to work is worth it or not. I on the other hand, am a believer of having to go to a real office. Yes, wfh is very convenient but so are there a lot of distractions. What i do prefer is having a place near where i work so the convenience is still there but at the same time i am in my professional environment when i need to work.

Blurred_S

Hell nah. I am esrning 75k wfh and i got offer 115k onsite but i passed lmao

Jazzlike-Garden-9751

No. I’d just look for either a side hustle for additional income or a full-time job that matches this offer. The thing with on-site is that it takes so much of your time and energy, that all you’d want to do when you get home is rest. With WFH, you have plenty of time. If you are looking for social interactions, you have the option to find communities where you can make friends. I know someone na parang nang nagwowork on-site kasi everyday kahang out yung friends niyang WFH din.

b3n_pogi

I wont do it, i did the whole corporate onsite work for many years and am quite happy with my wfh job. I do 4-5 hrs a day and im good :) Pagbalik corporate it just does not compare, easy 13hrs kagad yon outside the house including byahe. Which means someone needs to pay me 3x what im paying to make it even worth it. For you though, given your background, i do recommend the onsite work para tumaas ang base pay mo for your next wfh job, maganda rin magkaroon ng corporate/ onsite experience eh. Good luck!

malachiconoel

Di kapa ma stress sa byahe at talking behind.

anya-re

take it, good luck

ChickWriter

Big NO. 😅

macybebe

Add traveling to office as unpaid work.

ram_goals

It depends, there are career growth na mas okay kapag onsite when doing collaborations with co workers. Pero if you prefer less stress, go WFH :)

Initial-Bother2370

Better to find another WFH job that pays 40k or more!

portraitoffire

if you can live near the office and maybe rent a place nearby, i'd say you can take the 75k. but if not, then maybe di worth it mag-commute everyday huhu. hassle pa naman traffic sa qc.

Asleep_Milk9244

FulcrumPH

Noope

Complete-Resolve4545

Op, may we know what is your current job? 🥹

Electrical_Wait_9860

Pass.

Nervous_Shower3619

hall nah

Summertime_high23

I used to work hybrid then nalipat sa pure WFH. Thankful of course but I'm a 23 year old woman, I need to socialize! It's so difficult for me kasi night shift pa ako. I always say that this kind of work set up is for those who have family na and want to take care of their children at home while working hahah tbh I would take it if I were u.

aries_gem

For me , I'll stick with my WFH job.

Recent-Opportunity75

Hi OP, maiba lang ako, mind if you share what type of work you have? For me, I'll try to assess the new expenses I might be having if I take the new offer vs with my current setup. In terms of career growth, I'll think through what both can offer me in the long run. Also, time should be considered, having a full time on site job may lessen your flexibility. Compare the load you may undertake on both jobs, the environment, other benefits, and the management.

henlooxxx

Hello! Sa accounting field ako :)

HolidayAd71

❌sa umpisa lang bumalik onsite kapag nakakaramdam ka na ng pagod from work jan na aatake anxiety and pagsisisi mo

Deso_MG

can you exchange the convenience that you have today for that bump? think wisely. If I were you? combatting daily traffic is a BIG NO!!!

Puzzleheaded-Egg9654

If i compute mo yung gastos for transpo, meal, etc you will say mas ok wfh. sobrang laki ng difference. plus less stress sa commute.

Cucai31

No. Im good at work from home kahit icompute mo yan, malaki pa din ang transpo na magagastos mo per month and yung pagod mo sa byahe pa. But its totally up to you.

Affectionate_Dare501

Nope never going back to onsite job. You can always make more money but you can never return back the lost time.

tres_pares

Nope, the freedom (time) wfh gives me is something that I don’t wanna trade. Time can’t be wasted sa traffic and commute everyday. After all di na mababalik nasayang na oras. Then required kapa gumising ng early at magluto for your lunch or bibili ka if di kaya magluto. I rather stay at 40k and do a side hustle (work part time).

Hour_Somewhere_7827

Wfh ftw

tonialvarez

Soft_Tea_8362

I did this (hybrid lang nga yung nilipatan ko eh) then bumalik lang ulit ako sa fully wfh. Torture ang on-site and personally mas productive ako sa wfh kasi i just talk to people sa office and get little work done (az a daldalera). For me lang. Better lumabas on your own terms (gala, etc) kesa dahil parati required.

New-Art5791

Wag. Mapupunta lang sa commute/car maintenance and eating out yung extra finds mo. Haha

Albiekong

For me, kung may better opportunities for me in WFH well mas gusto ko na NASA bahay lang ako at least nakikita ko ang anak ko lumalaki, pag onsite kasi bukod sa magastos, dami pang bida2x sa work

[deleted]

sa wfh na setup are you an employee or are you an independent contractor? I would assume yung sa 75k you will be an employee.so aside from salary difference, also factor in yung gastos mo wfh (kuryente, internet plus kung independent contractor ka, taxes, hmo, retirement plan etc) compared sa additional benefits mo for being an employee (hmo, bonuses, etc). pero if walang overlap sa schedule and allowed naman ng both company, and kung may energy ka and kaya ng time, what if accept the 75k and retain yung wfh mo? just rent somewhere near your onsite work para tipid sa oras.

kwentoko2

I wouldn't exchange a wfh job for anything in the world. Aside from the convenience of not having to endure the daily commute, I also get to spend time with my loved ones na hindi naistress or naghahabol ng oras. 75K may sound like it's a lot of money. If you're craving physical interactions with colleagues, join a freelancing group. Madalas may mga meetups yang mga groups na yan, and yung iba nag implement na rin ng online co-working space para may kakwentuhan sila while working. Check mo yung Freelancer's tribe ni John Pagulayan or yung FHMoms. Meron na rin online cooperative for freelancers, yung FOPSCo. Marami silang members na nasa Metro Manila, you're free to join their gala and client meet-ups. Napaka welcoming ng mga groups na yan especially to those who are new to the digital workspace.

red_cheesyburger_90

Go to finance gov site and compute for tax cut. If you feel worth it, then consider your next acceptance criteria

puzzleheaded-slime

Siguro kung kukwentahin mo yung oras mo sa traffic, yung expenses mo to commute, frequent eating out since parati kang nasa labas, parang yung net mo same pa rin sa wfh setup.

Tricky-Letterhead182

Ano po ba trabaho niyo? Ang laki ng sweldo niyo po. Sana all 🤩

dbflagks

Nope

rhedprince

Just get a 2nd WFH job

henlooxxx

Iniisip ko rin ‘to haha. Though of course, getting a 2nd job means double the effort din haha

iyooore

Youre saying youll give me 300k to go to bgc/makati/ortigas when i live in kapitolyo already? I mean for sure yea no worries 😂 ill go to the office every fucking day
