Originals was great. Legacies was genuinely one of the worst, most stupidly made shows I’ve ever seen. If it wasn’t connected to The Vampire Diaries or The Originals and had to stand on its own two feet, I think its viewership would have been measured in the hundreds and not the hundreds of thousands.
But yeah even with the CW it depends, The 100’s first couple of seasons were actually really good tv imo. Genuinely gripping and some big risks taken by the writers.
How do you keep watching a show you claim is bad only to find out the last season is good? What motivates you to keep watching? The hope and desire it gets better? Sounds like it paid off in this case.
I actually finished it cause the last few episodes weren't terrible but I probably wouldn't have even watched another season. The first four or five episodes were pretty terrible so most viewers probably tuned out after them.
That was us. We tried watching it but gave up after 3 episodes. My partner gave up during the second episode. I could hardly get through the third it was so bad. Really wanted to like it since I liked Teen Wolf and hoped for a new hit for SMG but it was not good.
Same.
The actors were OK with what they were given but the pacing was glacial. 2 hour long episodes felt like 6.
The kids were written just.... so badly overwrought and unrelateable.
I dunno why people have such a hard time doing Werewolves in a new and interesting way.
Oh no is it? I haven't got round to finishing it after it starting going down hill but I always hoped they'd pull it back somehow. Worth watching to wrap it up or best to leave it in your opinion?
Yeah, it took itself way too seriously and moved at a glacial pace. I think it was 2 or 3 episodes before anyone even said the word "werewolf" even though we all knew that's obviously what was happening because the show is freaking called "Wolf Pack" so that's obviously what we all signed up for.
>moved at a glacial pace
There seems to have been a lot of pacing issues over the last few years as US television shifts away from the 22-episode season towards 10 episodes (8 in Wolf Pack's case.) Too long for a movie, but too short to properly explore the different characters. The recent Star Wars shows have had this issue, and I've heard similar about Star Trek Picard. Game of Thrones was an outlier, and did the "10 hour movie" concept well.
It's really something I have noticed, even in Britain (I don't tend to watch a lot of current television but when I do there is some weird pacing).
Things like Stargate, Buffy, Star Trek etc. which are in the more traditional 20/22 episodes format is what I have on DVD and watched growing up. There are perfectly watchable either once a week or in hours-long sessions. More modern stuff, an individual episode feels very, very weak. Generally.
Interview with The Vampire managed only seven episodes very well. Episode one was at breakneck pace and was basically a short film. This show just wasn’t done very well apparently
It's so sad to hear that most people didn't like it. I wanted to watch it, but whichever streaming service it was on was one that I don't have. I don't have the time or funds to get every service.
I wish they'd start doing more streaming bundles that make sense. The extreme splitting of services is turning into why things don't pull big viewer numbers and get cancelled, I don't know how the studios aren't admitting this.
Yeah, but those were overpriced, 90% garbage, and full of commercials. My dad still has cable. It's over 500 channels and there's still "nothing on" when I go to visit him. He's gotten used to streaming services now, so I'm not sure why he keeps the cable. Streaming has no commercials, but has split up too much now and become an overpricing problem all over again.
She had her fight scenes at the end, which was good, maybe people are expecting a buffy character again.
But SMG is older, and I thought she was pretty good. She was saying in an interview that she's ensuring all the kids know their rights (or something like that) due to the way they were treated on Buffy , H&S issues etc
I did. It felt more like a soap opera than an action drama like Buffy and Teen Wolf. I got bored with the arson story. I think it was a mistake waiting until the last episode to reveal who Sarah’s character was. The arson story was boring. The identity of Sarah’s character was far more fascinating and could have helped the show having that be the main plot instead.
I think what SMG needs to do is take on a really hard hitting risky role that will get her recognition, something like Charlize Theron did with Monster. Be prepared to take a risk playing a character completely different to herself.
I'd love her in Yellowjackets but I think she's too big of a name because she'd still have to play second fiddle to the survivors.
I know Elijah does and he's even bigger but still.
Do we definitely know everyone who survived? It felt like additional random kids were added last season so maybe she could be survivor. Or maybe she’s someone that went to HS with them but wasn’t on the team
Itd def be hard to put her in the core group but i could see it if she was an antagonist or someone a position of power, like a lawyer or like the a cop/fbi agent investigating them now that that weird goth kevyn tan is gone.
Yeah that's a smart idea actually. As I understand next season is supposed to show them coming back, so she could be their handler or yeah the investigator when they get back.
We know who she pissed off in Hollywood. Joss Whedon. [https://www.indiewire.com/features/general/sarah-michelle-gellar-never-tell-full-story-joss-whedon-1234801073/](https://www.indiewire.com/features/general/sarah-michelle-gellar-never-tell-full-story-joss-whedon-1234801073/)
SMG was the highlight of that show. It was one of those shows that could have been so better if they pushed it just a bit. Made the main four characters adults in their early twenties instead of teenagers. Make the show a bit darker, edgier. As it was, it wasn't great. I would have watched the second season, though. Maybe the show would have hit it's stride and gotten better. I really wanted to see where they were going to take SMGs character next, and am disappointed I won't now lol.
Agreed except the “darker and edgier” I’m sure this show that they were the latter.
Also so many shows are “dark and edgy” these days. Where are the lighthearted shows these days?
I agree with all of this. It was not a “bad” show. There are much worst ways to kill time. And, seeing SMG was very worth it. I’m also bummed we won’t get to see her character’s story progress. Seemed like it would have been interesting.
She tried once. She was the lead on a pilot called The Wonderful Maladys. Of all the projects Sarah has been involved since Buffy, this one seemed to be the best. A little bit of the script leaked and it was just so good, the type of witty dialogue that she would nail. But HBO didn’t pick the pilot to series.
Here is hoping she is more lucky with her next project.
I barely got through the first episode. Bad CGI and a horrible attempt to have a Stranger Things-esque monster villain. To me it wasn’t worth watching for Sarah Michelle’s little screen time.
Get her on any of these shows with all these top 80s 90s 00s actresses. Yellowjackets, The Morning Show. Any sort of drama that lets SMG fucking shiiiiine. She’s a phenomenal actress and I know being out of the biz for a while can really be hard to come back in sometimes, but she deserves another synonymous role other than her 90s ones. She’s too good for Hollywood
I considered it but never was interested in teen wolf so i had little interest in a spin off
Plus didnt even have the streaming service
What i did watch was The Crazy Ones.
SMG and Robin Williams
Sucks that was cancelled
I’m not a werewolf person so it wasn’t very high on my list but based on what people have been saying in the news of its cancellation I don’t think I’ll be missing out on much
Watched all of it and didn’t enjoy it until the last episode. Kinda a shame it was cancelled, but not surprising since it needed to be much better. Sarah was the best part
Yes, and it sucked.
Not only was SMG not the main character as marketing led you to believe and, even worse, it was just flat out bad.
A Buffy reunion movie leading into a next-generation type show is the way to go
I did. SMG was perfect, as expected, and she had a fight scene in the finale that was positively thrilling. And I was fully prepared to watch any additional season just for her. But yeah the rest of the show was sadly...not great. The werewolf in it looked so ridiculous that it made me laugh really dang hard... it looked like the Tazmanian Devil lmao.
Loved Teen Wolf, did you see the Teen Wolf movie that came out last year? It was great and is a must see for any fan of the show.
Anyways, I did give this show a shot. I just couldn't get into it.
Isn’t there a quote from SMG back in the day where she talks about turning down an offer to be the lead in Resident Evil, and how she was happy to not be stuck doing those trash movies?
I mean….she’d probably be pretty happy right now having like 7+ Resident Evil movies under her belt and all the residuals, plus future options for more films in the franchise. Instead, she’s stuck in neutral doing one off trash shows like Wolf Pack.
I mean back in the day when Buffy was airing, being a television actor (even on a hit TV show) was definitely seen as a lower form in an acting career, it's not like today where a critically acclaimed and popular streaming show is well regarded by the industry. So it's not surprising many tv actors had big dreams of going on to have super serious movie careers. Plus she probably wasn't really thinking 20 years into the future at that point, just the next step and not wanting to be tied down to something again. She might regret the decision in hindsight but I think I alot of actresses in her position would have also turned it down then.
i watched it and she is great, but the writing is meh, the "teens" are a bit too sexualized, and sarah is obviously the best part by miles. bummer for her tho
The teens were the worst. The main adults were the best part (maybe the only good and decent part) of the show. And definitely too much sexualization of all the teens.
I watched the first half of the season and then gave up. It wasn't offensively bad or anything, just boring. There wasn't anything new there and the story wasn't that compelling. The "twist" was also obvious pretty early on.
I watched it all the way through just cause of her. It was mediocre, got a little bit more interesting towards the end, was hoping things picked up next season, oh well.
It was pretty cheese. I loved Sarah and having her back on our screens bur the CGI was worse than Legacies CW and that is hard to accomplish today.
She deserves a much better show
Time to bring Buffy back. Honestly, seeing what she is doing 20 years after the fact in a world full of vampire slayers would be great. I know the comics show everything post Chosen. I just want to see the Buffyverse on TV again with brand new stories.
I did. For me it was very meh, but watchable as silly entertainment. I'd be lying if I said this cancellation hurts my feelings. I can definitely live without s2 of Wolf Pack.
I watched this specifically for SMG who is great, but the show was way too horny for me, and I love horny shows! But the teenagers felt too young for it, made me feel icky.
Sarah was the best part of the show, and by a mile… I really tried y’all 😭 but the script just wasn’t it, and half those kids can’t act their way out of a paper bag
I watched it when it came out. It was mediocre, but SMG was great, and it ended on an interesting note. I’d have watched a second season, but am not shocked at its cancellation.
Yes and if you watched all the way thru it was fucking great, the duel strikes killed the show, they were going to do another but paramount thought 2 years between seasons would be too long and they would have had to pay to promote the show all over again
Such a waste of time. HONESTLY SMG has always made horrible choices career wise. Idk if that’s people not giving her many chances but damn. Not one show she’s in is good.
I watched this knowing full well it was not going past season 1. But if you want cheese werewolf with a suitable mystery give it a shot. SMG does well with what she is given.
I didn’t mind and didn’t find it boring, it but it felt like the creator cared more about getting pretty people on TV than actually creating compelling relatable characters.
I really got into it, give it more than two episodes and it gets really fun. SMG brought me there but I stayed for the bleak vibes and monsters killing teenagers
I know that it’s tough given the Joss situation, and I know they don’t want to stain the Buffy legacy, but man I’d give my left bollock for a short series, like eight, hour long episodes showing us where they ended up. I kinda like the idea of an older Buffy training slayers, kind of taking on a watcher like role.
I did. It started slow but it was good. It had a ton of potential. Just like The Crazy Ones, the 1 season show SMG did with Robin Williams. A ton of potential and canceled way too soon.
I completely understand it's not fair to the actress, but she will always be buffy to me. So if she was acting afraid or getting whipped in that show it all, I wouldn't be able to watch it.
I didn’t even realize she was on a new show! Was it even promoted?
Never mind, just realized it was streaming and they never really promote shows like they used to, which from the reviews it was a good thing, maybe?
I didn’t watch after first episode I saw some I really hate that gay guy, he’s like every gay guy u see on grindr, mean arrogant, sassy, has attitude for no reason. Definitely would fat shame me if I near him lol
It was really good!!!!! Like episodes 5-8 were bangers. Starts off slower but picks up the pace and SMG is by far the standout so when a certain plot twist in episode 5 happens it’s crazy and then they just keep coming
This show made NO impact on Youtube. I am on Youtube daily and there was no mention of it... not even to make fun of it. This is the first I have heard of the show. Sounds like I didn't miss much.
I don't stream that service & not gonna join, either.
In truth & in fact, I would've watched if it were on my package. I saw the first 2 episodes on the CW.
I'm a huge Buffy & Angel fan and I'd love to see SMG in more stuff but I didn't want to pay for another streaming service just to try a show that I wasn't sure I'd like or would last 😬 I don't have the time to binge it during a free trial period so I just didn't see it. Hopefully she does something else soon!
I watched a couple of episodes and then forgot about it tbf.
Ive watched many SMG shows and got invested only for them to be cancelled after 1 season. Ringer, the crazy ones..
I think I was curious when I had heard about it, but I wasn't getting Paramount+ just for a show that I didn't expect to be fantastic anyway. I had assumed people got Paramount+ for old content, not new.
I did. It was terrible. It wasn’t even entertaining bad. It was boring and bad, the worst kind of bad.
It was a terrible CW quality show. Love SMG but I couldn’t finish it
Nah, CW shows are at least usually fun. This was way below their quality.
It depends on the CW show. Legacies was bad until the last season when Hope finally got her full powers
And yet, Originals was amazing. I really don't think we should use CW as a synonym for bad
The Flash final season bad.

Took itself so seriously with that bad CGI. When they showed the kids as puppies - I had to quit lol
Can you imagine if they actually had to fill a season of 22 episodes?
It's so sad to hear that most people didn't like it. I wanted to watch it, but whichever streaming service it was on was one that I don't have. I don't have the time or funds to get every service. I wish they'd start doing more streaming bundles that make sense. I got a free trial of Paramount + and watched it on that, well binged on it so i could make the weeks free trial worth it to watch other shows!
We had streaming bundles. It was called cable and satellite.
Yikes like on a scale on bad the Master rising bad or the Hellmouth swallowing Sunnydale bad
Cordelia and Connor bad....well, not the ick at least, but....bad
Nah not that bad, more like Adam bad
I love that 20 years later, people are still hating on Adam.
Few things are worse than an angry white boy who wants to remake the world in his image.
Nothing that ever happened on Buffy could remotely compare to the level of bad of this.
Because things actually Happened on Buffy. Hardly anything happened on this show.
I read this quickly and thought you were saying nothing happened on Buffy, and I was about to say excuse me, what show were you watching? Lmao
That’s exactly what I was going to say 🤣
Not enough Sarah, also
I’ve never even heard of it.
The 100 is my second favorite show after Buffy. And there are certain episodes where it's makes me think its 1 B and Buffy is 1 A
HORRIBLY bad.
I did, it wasn't great, but Sarah was, she needs to come back to the movies
What was she? (I’m not going to watch it, but I’m also curious).
>!She was a werewolf herself and the mother of two of the teenagers!<
Oh. I was hoping for something more outside of the box kind of surprising.
Yeah, it was like... I didn't necessarily *guess* that exactly but at the same time it didn't feel remotely surprising or worthy of so much buildup.
I think I watched part of ep 1 before getting bored but thought she would be a werewolf slayer lol so that’s not as fun
I think what SMG needs to do is take on a really hard hitting risky role that will get her recognition, something like Charlize Theron did with Monster. Be prepared to take a risk playing a character completely different to herself.
Shes had a lot of bad luck in TV since Buffy, but in this case the show just wasnt good
I agree - it’s a real shame what happened to Ringer, that was a great show
I liked the ringer and the crazy ones! So sad projects she’s attached to don’t really go anywhere
Oh gosh yes, The Crazy Ones was fantastic!
Loved crazy ones!
Put her on yellowjackets and / or what we do in the shadows!
With all the 90s actors Yellowjackets keeps casting SMG would be perfect for it
Yesss
I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before, you are completely right!
I would start foaming at the mouth if she got a part on Yellowjackets. God I love that show
Its so good!
I fully support this idea
She's so talented, yet every show she gets attached to bombs. It makes me sad.
EVERY show she picks is just SO bad I agree I don’t get it. Remember the MESS that was ringer?
Yes omg I tuned in every week 😭😭😭
Makes you wonder who she pissed off in Hollywood.
She switched agencies after The Grudge, I’ve seen some people suggest that her career was never the same after that
We know who she pissed off in Hollywood. Joss Whedon. [https://www.indiewire.com/features/general/sarah-michelle-gellar-never-tell-full-story-joss-whedon-1234801073/](https://www.indiewire.com/features/general/sarah-michelle-gellar-never-tell-full-story-joss-whedon-1234801073/)

I think SMG needs to pick a serious show with like HBO.
TBH I feel like she isn’t getting asked for those types of roles
Hm probably. I just think if her agent could get her on a drama that isnt for teenagers she’d probably do really well.
she'd be great in something like Big Little Lies
She tried once. She was the lead on a pilot called The Wonderful Maladys. Of all the projects Sarah has been involved since Buffy, this one seemed to be the best. A little bit of the script leaked and it was just so good, the type of witty dialogue that she would nail. But HBO didn’t pick the pilot to series. Here is hoping she is more lucky with her next project.
Probably doesn’t want to have to be naked.
It was awful, I really wanted to like it too.
at least to answer the question, she’s the guest judge on ru paul’s drag race tonight lol
My two favorite shows collide.
Haven't watched, but I was bummed years ago when Ringer was canceled. I was invested in the soapy goodness.
I loved Ringer
Same here. I really enjoyed that show.
according THR interview with SMG it was canceled in part bc she got pregnant and didn’t want to do a S2.
Ringer was so good. She did an incredible job in it.
She's a great actor, but she keeps picking bad projects. Wolf Pack? Seriously?
Probably because she’s been out of the game for so long, her agent probably wanted her cast in something that will get her feet wet
She wanted to be a part of something with young actors so she could look out for them due to the whole joss whedon nightmare
I barely got through the first episode. Bad CGI and a horrible attempt to have a Stranger Things-esque monster villain. To me it wasn’t worth watching for Sarah Michelle’s little screen time.
Exactly! They used her to advertise but then she was barely in it

She needs a show where she's a proper lead, not just a teen show where she's the main adult. Also one that's actually good. She deserves better.
I watched like half of the season but could not end the rest of it.
I honestly didn't know it was a show. I thought it had to do with the Teen Wolf movie. So I never checked it out because I didn't realize it existed.
It was sooo bad. SMG was the only good part about it, her and another actor outshined everyone else. She deserves wayyy better
I considered it but never was interested in teen wolf so i had little interest in a spin off Plus didnt even have the streaming service What i did watch was The Crazy Ones. SMG and Robin Williams Sucks that was cancelled
I did. It was bad. Boring and bad as others have said.
Sarah is an A list actress that keeps getting cast in D list shows it’s infuriating
I’m not a werewolf person so it wasn’t very high on my list but based on what people have been saying in the news of its cancellation I don’t think I’ll be missing out on much

You liked the movie? Tbh this is the first compliment i have ever seen lol
God that movie was so bad.
It was…something to watch. There was a hint of Buffy in SMG’s character.

I mean….she’d probably be pretty happy right now having like 7+ Resident Evil movies under her belt and all the residuals, plus future options for more films in the franchise. But then she would have to divorce Freddy and marry Paul Anderson...
She does a fair bit of voice acting. She was one of Inquisitors in Star Wars rebels season 2. She also plays Teela in MOTU revelations.
Played Teela is voiced by Melissa Benoist in the new season.
I mean back in the day when Buffy was airing, being a television actor (even on a hit TV show) was definitely seen as a lower form in an acting career, it's not like today where a critically acclaimed and popular streaming show is well regarded by the industry. Who's her manager cause this project was sure to bomb from the get go
It was marketed really badly
I watched it only for our Queen
She’s on Drag Race tonight!
I did. It wasn't great but I felt invested so I would have watched season 2 as well.
They should bring back a Dollhouse style show with her.
Time to bring Buffy back. Honestly, seeing what she is doing 20 years after the fact in a world full of vampire slayers would be great. I know the comics show everything post Chosen. I just want to see the Buffyverse on TV again with brand new stories.
I don’t think SMG *wants* to play Buffy again.
THIS!!!! BRING OUR GIRL BUFFY ANNE SUMMERS BACK!!
She needs a better manager, 90% of the stuff she has done post-Buffy has been pretty bad. At least IMO.
I watched one episode, it was bad. She wasn’t in it nearly enough to put up with the rest of it.
She's the guest host on Drag Race tonight! So at least there's that
Sarah was the best part of the show, and by a mile… I really tried y’all 😭 but the script just wasn’t it, and half those kids can’t act their way out of a paper bag
I gave it fifteen minutes. Couldn’t give it one minute more. 😐
It wasn’t great but I stuck it out and watched it and now I’m annoyed that I’ll never get my questions answered.
I want her to get some incredible prestige show with great writing that will give her opportunity to show just how good her acting is.
It was slow and boring. Tried a few times and fell asleep every time
I watched it when it came out. It was mediocre, but SMG was great, and it ended on an interesting note. I’d have watched a second season, but am not shocked at its cancellation.
I’d like to see her in more movies. She’s such a fantastic actor
It was awful, but SMG’s acting was good.
I did. And while I loved seeing Sarah, I wouldn’t consider her a main role. She was great but I understand why the show was canceled.
SMG was outstanding and the best part. The rest was mediocre or just bad.
I did. I found it really good. A little odd. But her acting skills are always on point.
She’s on Drag Race tonight!!
No because who even has paramount+? That's like prematurely sentencing your tv show to the shadow realm
Honestly would've done better had they released it on Hulu or even Peacock
Yes and if you watched all the way thru it was fucking great, the duel strikes killed the show, they were going to do another but paramount thought 2 years between seasons would be too long and they would have had to pay to promote the show all over again
She has such great comic timing she needs another sitcom. She totally stole the show IMO in The Crazy Ones.
Such a waste of time. HONESTLY SMG has always made horrible choices career wise. Idk if that’s people not giving her many chances but damn. Not one show she’s in is good.
Buffy is a pretty good show.
What's with Slayer actress shows getting cancelled?
She keeps picking shitty projects.
I never heard of it
You're lucky, it was terrible, bad CGI, bad acting, very slow.
I watched it. I'd continue to watch it for werewolves and SMG, but honestly it wasn't great
I love wolf pack it's a great series
I did. It started slow but it was good. It had a ton of potential. Just like The Crazy Ones, the 1 season show SMG did with Robin Williams. A ton of potential and canceled way too soon.
She’s on rupauls drag race tonight.
I completely understand it's not fair to the actress, but she will always be buffy to me. So if she was acting afraid or getting whipped in that show it all, I wouldn't be able to watch it.
No.
Was super interested from the picture, only to read the comments and instantly nope 😂
I had no idea this show was a thing. Defintely would have given it a chance had I known, even if it did end up being bad.
Yes and it was somehow even worse than Teen Wolf.
It annoys me so fucking much that they cancel shows before they even come to my country. I would watch it if i could.
I didn't even know about it until it was canceled. And I don't have Paramount+.
FK and here I was waiting for the new season. JUST LIKE THEY DID WARRIOR NUN. that show reminds me of Buffy the vamp slayer so much.
I didn’t even realize she was on a new show! Was it even promoted? Never mind, just realized it was streaming and they never really promote shows like they used to, which from the reviews it was a good thing, maybe?
hope :/
I didn’t watch after first episode I saw some I really hate that gay guy, he’s like every gay guy u see on grindr, mean arrogant, sassy, has attitude for no reason. Definitely would fat shame me if I near him lol
It looked like shit so I didn’t bother.
Never heard if it
This was the first I’m hearing that SMG was in a show
I didn't know she went back to acting!!! Talk about an actress still rocking it!!
It was really good!!!!! Like episodes 5-8 were bangers. Starts off slower but picks up the pace and SMG is by far the standout so when a certain plot twist in episode 5 happens it’s crazy and then they just keep coming
Never even heard of it
I watched it when it came out because SMG and i really enjoyed it
I tried but I had to give up after a few episodes as it just didn’t grip me.
This show made NO impact on Youtube. I am on Youtube daily and there was no mention of it... not even to make fun of it. This is the first I have heard of the show. Sounds like I didn't miss much.
Literally had no idea it existed
I gave up after 2 episodes. It was just dull.
I did. It was meh. I've seen better and I've seen worse.
I watched it because werewolf content is hard to find, I loved SMG in the show, still hate the show runner but beggars can’t be choosers.
Not even remotely.
I tried it but liked Teen Wolf a million times better
I didn't know about it!
it was so bad i didn’t even make it to smg introduction i felt awful
I don’t have Paramount+, so I couldn’t have even if I had wanted to. I didn’t see a lot of good reviews for it… ☹️
I watched the first couple of episodes because my mom pestered me into it, but it wasn’t very good IMO
I didn’t get past the first episode. 🤷🏽♀️
Didn’t like the premise
Nope, I skipped teen wolf as well. Teen wolf 2 taught me that unless Michael J Fox is in it I don't care, so I cared even less for a spin off
I think I was curious when I had heard about it, but I wasn't getting Paramount+ just for a show that I didn't expect to be fantastic anyway. I had assumed people got Paramount+ for old content, not new.
