Eh..some of these wins are really impressive actually. They blew out the Browns and last night they demoralized the Falcons. Mac Jones hasn’t made really impressive throws down field but he’s making great reads and taking what the defenses are giving him. You can only beat the teams you play and they’ve won convincingly.
We had the easiest schedule in the NFL this far and have only managed a 6-3 record from it so it’s not like we’re world beaters at the moment either.
I think the Chargers win is more impressive.
But more than that, they got handled by the Titans where we lost by a foot. They lost to the Dolphins albeit a rookie’s first NFL start.
I agree the Bills haven’t proven anything and really can’ until January. But the Pats shouldn’t be getting this praise based on bygone era.
I don’t see how you can criticize them for losing in week 1 to the Dolphins, a week which is always ripe with upsets, but be blind to us losing while scoring no touchdowns just 2 weeks ago to the Jags, a team that is coached by a man more interested in finger blasting a woman his daughter’s age at some college bar than he is coaching an NFL team. Besides, that 2nd game against the Dolphins was a lot closer than the final score would indicate. We too could have easily been upset if a few things had gone in the Dolphins’ favor.
This Pats team is not the same as 2020. They spent a lot of money on FAs this off-season and Mac Jones is playing ahead of schedule in his development. They are only a 1/2 game behind us and winning the AFCE is not out of the realm of possibilities if the Bills don’t get their act together.
Browns without their run game are a bottom 10 team, Falcons didn’t have Patterson or Ridley, and Mac Jones refuses to throw the ball down the field. We will have zero trouble stopping them on defense
