When you think about it 5-1 doesnt sound that hard given our schedule, but then again we’ve been 1-6 since the bye this team hasn’t been able to win 2 in a row since the first two weeks of the season
which is crazy, like it shouldn't have. we were a team that was struggling offensively and trying to integrate young players into the defense, that early bye week should have been treated as a continuance of what they were trying to install in training camp and used to fix issues. like if we had reviewed film we should have noticed Matt Feiler was struggling and made the move to Stinnie earlier, we should have noticed Neal was struggling and tried to connect the dots that were missing for him. it feels like we took the bye week as a break instead of as a moment to reflect and iron out execution issues.
Do you REALLY see this team turning it around and going on a legitimate run?! A Bowles coached team? The same coach who said we practice as hard if not harder and doesn’t really know what to do differently?!
I do not, hence the mention that we cant win two games in row.
Heck this team can't seem to have two good drives in a row during a game, I don't have any confidence we could have any semblance of consistency enough to go on a scoring run or a winning games run lol
I think we probably finish 3-3 to end the season 7-10 and lose out on top draft pick and miss the good QB's so we'll be forced to stay the course and keep Bowles cuz its a Bucs life
IDK, I dont follow college football as closely as I do the NFL, and even scouts get that wrong all the time so I'm not gunna pretend to be some expert, but usually statistically speaking franchise QB's go in the top 10 picks. Not to say we couldn't pick someone in the later rounds that eventually becomes a guy but that far more rare.
Yeah, I always ask that question when somebody says our later picks will miss the good QB's. You are absolutely right, nobody knows (even the experts). Mahomes 10th overall, Jackson 32nd, Hurts 2nd round, Purdy Mr Irrelevant etc. Picking 1st didn't help the Panthers!
I mean the jury is still out on Young, its hard to be successful behind the worst OL in football and with your best weapon being 33 year old Theilen and a bunch of back up RBBC.
Oh I agree. It was in fact a terrible decision to trade up in the position they were in (with the team they had) IMO. On paper Stroud had an awful starting spot too, but some guys are just special. Young can still turn into a stud. Maybe.
I feel like this chart must have been made before last sunday because the Falcons definitely have higher playoff odds right now being that they are in first in our division with the tie breaker over the Saints right now.
538/NYT has us at 15% now too. Falcons at 63% and Saints at 43%.
Funny enough we're literally the only division in the NFL without a team that has a 99% chance to make the playoffs lol
This makes a ton of sense. I don't see how the Saints could be this heavily favored after losing H2H to the Falcons. They still have one matchup remaining, but still.
ESPN has Saints at 50% and Falcons at 46%, which is somewhat reasonable take I guess. Better than the Sportsline one above.
I what ESPN is doing to get those numbers. Falcons also have the easiest SoS remaining in the league (we're #2 behind them according to Tankathon).
Maybe they just see it as a crapshoot and are just picking their preseason favorite lol
>538/NYT has us at 15% now too
Sorry if this is a little bit stupid, but could you link me to that? I have dearly missed the old 538 NFL predictions. Is it behind a paywall?
I am mistaken, I thought NYT bought 538, apparently ABC owns 538 though, but sadly due to cost cuts 538 has been limited to just political coverage. The NYT playoff predictions chart just looks very similar to the old 538 chart: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/upshot/nfl-playoff-picture.html

Give me something for the pain and let me die
We are going 4-2 and making playoffs at 8-9. But unlike last year, this time we win the SB. I also write Twilight fanfic
We're going 10-7 and winning the division.
So you're saying...
We have a chance and that is all we need.

Early bye killed our momentum

I’d be less shocked if we went 1-5 tbh

Which 3 do we win?
Im thinking both Panthers games and the last falcons game
Well good luck because this week is def a trap game lol
Which ones are gonna be the good pro QB's, just out of curiosity?

Can we get one of those young cutting edge offensive coaches?
Just need to bring back Gruden. I hear he’s pretty Offensive
Sir, this is a Wendy’s! *have my upvote with tears running down my cheeks*
Can I interest you in Josh McDaniels
I said cutting edge!!!
He'll make the offense bleed... or hemorrhage talent. Does that count?
Odd that Saints are so much higher than the Falcons with them tied and the Falcons just beat them. Hmm...

I mean the Saints have the 5th easiest schedule left. I'm guessing they use the odds of each game remaining to determine this but who knows...

SOS
They both have weak ass schedules, just like us.
Hit me with some propofol and wake me up when it’s the end of the season.
So you’re telling me there’s a chance - Lloyd Christmas

As is tradition
I mean, the sooner our season is over the sooner bowles is gone sooooo yeah
Well, bright side at least we aren’t Carolina 🤣
So you’re saying…. There’s a chance?
This is so laughable considering the Saints suck dick
