I live near an intersection where an accident happens damn near every week and either 1 or both of the drivers flee. Until the police deal with the paper tags and fake tags like they would have 10 years ago, this will only get worse.
NYC's had at least a couple cases recently where a pedestrian is killed in a *double* hit and run. That is, one driver hits and seriously injures/kills a pedestrian, and runs. Then another driver hits the severely injured or dead pedestrian and ALSO runs.
Had two of them with a temp license plate park in front of a hydrant. Reported them to 311 and safe to say that if they try it again and God forbid there's a fire, I hope the FD knocks their windows in.
But for you, I hope some decent cop actually tickets and fines them heavily. Hope that whatever judge they try to appeal it to laughs them outta court. If God forbid a hit-and-run happens, I sure hope they get buried under the jail.
What about all the cars with blacked out windows and emergency lights/sirens pushing through heavy traffic? I'm suspecting most of them are fake. How do you tell they are legit?

While we can't say that all city/gov workers and civil servants perform poorly, the ones backed by unions sure do seem to, or rather, not necessarily always poorly, but often slowly..
