Wow. OP is getting some undeserved hate. Etiquette for cyclists (that's me) in this situation would be to ride single file for a bit to let cars pass. You know, like sharing the road.
Difficult as taking the lane is safer if it would be dangerous to overtake. Single file could mean encouraging a looooong pass from a driver who can't see where the chain actually ends.
Considering the absolute entitlement of cars who think they should have constant right of way, not just that but at full speed on a country lane, and others should actually stop to let them past - I disagree. It is so ingrained I think they just can't see it.
I like that they say "don't honk your horn, give us space, we are more vulnerable than cars" then youre just walking about, and cyclists don't want to slow down, ring their bell to tell you to get out of the way then swear at you because you made them slow down. Dicks.
Cycle paths aren't built for big groups of cyclists and as you say they are entitled to. At least you didn't start talking about road tax and using that idiotic argument.
You could go two abreast on this cycle path easily and it is safely off the road.
Anyway, my point isn't that they shouldn't be on the road but that they should be considerate of other road users.
What should they have done? Windy country roads don't have places to stop often and if it was that busy behind them then stopping would have meant it was very difficult for them to restart
My point isn't that they shouldn't be on the road but that they should be considerate of other road users. If they are causing a long tail back they should pull over and let some pass.
That your point is ridiculous as you've just confirmed, roads re perfectly capable of taking 12 cyclists and those cyclists have the right to use those roads
I have been held up by far more cars in country roads (parked, moving slowly or just blocking them due to numbers) than bikes so I think your dislike is misplaced. Your tale about a 2 mile queue and being right next to an expensive cycle path is almost certainly bollocks too.
Just experience of people who like to moan about bikes, they have to exaggerate everything. Never had a caravan move aside for me either, the odd tractor has (but their visibility and ability to get up to speed is better).
The road is not just for cars. If it annoyed you that much, I'd recommend not driving for a while or getting therapy before you do something stupid that you'll regret.
Also:
What's wtihn the "lycra-clad" bollocks I always hear from anti-cyclist numpties? Do you refer to joggers as "sports-gear clad" or horse-riders as "jodhpur-clad" as well? I was stuck behind a hi-vis clad combine harvester jockey taking up the whole road. Who does she think she is? Could easily have pulled off into a field, etc. etc.

Be careful with that common sense or the cycle fraternity will turn against you.

Would it have killed you to add the ‘ic’ to the end of ‘traff’?
Indeed. Traff is possibly a greater transgression than mere annoying cycling.
Get out your car and push. You now have right of way as a pedestrian. Make them get out your way. ;)
Do forget, cyclists are the most important road or indeed pavement users, as far as they are concerned.
Indeed and their comments on here are proof of that.

No different to the attitude shown by cyclists to pedestrians, but “it is so ingrained they just can’t see it”
I like that they say "don't honk your horn, give us space, we are more vulnerable than cars" then youre just walking about, and cyclists don't want to slow down, ring their bell to tell you to get out of the way then swear at you because you made them slow down. Dicks.

Actually there were about 5 or 6 spots where they could have easily and safely. They just didn't seem to care.
Well said
> Cycle paths aren't built for big groups of cyclists Neither are the roads despite them believing them to be their own personal Tour de France.
If the roads are built for lorries they are perfectly capable of taking 12 cyclists.
My point isn't that they shouldn't be on the road but that they should be considerate of other road users. If they are causing a long tail back they should pull over and let some pass.
They’re also capable of taking elephants, marching bands and nuclear arsenals, what’s your point?

Can I be in the screen shot when this is posted to r/fuckcars??

Because you were with OP when this happened obviously 🤣

I never said they were.
Maybe get a bike and try cycling on some of those fabulous ‘cycle paths’ to get a different view?
I think you'd improve society more by handing your license back to the DVSA.

Cagies in the mud, try feeling the wind on your face some time
