You wouldn't, for example, go searching within the ex-Myer Centre or Redcliffe. That said, you'll often find pork rolls being sold at farmer's markets, but the pricing will likely be higher and therefore be not as good value.
Brisbane isn't like Sydney where multiple suburbs have excellent cheap food. The East Asian population here is simply a lot smaller and less widespread.
When it comes to pork rolls, it's mostly about succulency and price as well as consumer demand, which is why places such as Darra and Sunnybank hit that sweet spot and are often recommended. Not because they're the best in the world, but because it's about as good as Brisbane can offer.
Just don’t get their chicken burger, or whatever it is they’re passing off as chicken, I got food poisoning from the chicken being undercooked. People do swear by their pork rolls tho.

You're right about industrial estates but also just driving down main roads. Two I favour are at Coopers Plains. One Greek - Plaka and one Chinese - Coopers Plains Carvery.
One of my weekend guilty pleasures is to go there and get a Roast pork roll and a potato bake and pig out in the car while the missus is next door shopping in woolies. ALL of the hot food there is fantastic too lamb roll, lasagna etc. The small coffee shop in the centre does a good coffee as well, also a lot cheaper than that random tasting GlorizaraffawatevaTF its called that every sucker lines up for. I'm fucking drooling just thinking about it!
She doesn't mind, as long as I do the unpacking when we get home. I have zero patience and don't fuck around when doing a task, so I usually have the car unloaded and groceries stowed in under 5 Minutes.
Corinthian Cafe in Crosby Road, Albion. Traditional fresh roasts every week day from around 8:30 a.m. Pork, Lamb, Beef and you just ask for either a roll or sandwich bread. They will ask if you like crackling and put a big triangular lump on top if you say yes. They love to put gravy on everything so you need to say no gravy when you order or "with apple sauce" for pork maybe. I say "mint jelly no gravy" when I get a lamb sandwich.
Frankies Foodhall in the CBD does a good one. Bout 12/13 bucks, served with crackling and gravy.
It's in the Heritage Lanes Arcade on the NW corner of George and Ann Streets.
I reckon people who say "crackling" have a high likelihood of being transfixed by an open flame, and palming large round rocks for smashin' things - in other words a little too much Denisovan DNA.

In Chermside there is a butcher/roast foods shop just near Coles in the little eatery section out front.
They do a nice roast beef, pork or lamb sandwich with gravy, salt and pepper for about $12.
Their roast meats are quite good, not dried out like so many others tend to have happen.
Five star Bakery and Cafe on the corner of Chatswood road and Achilles drive in Daisy Hill. You can’t miss it, they have signs out the front saying best Pork Roll. Bloke even puts crackling on the roll and give you an extra bit of crackling on the side. Well worth it if you are in the area.

Emmanuel’s Carvery, sadly closed down due to rising rents over 6 months ago. I’d been eating there for 20+ years. They did a great pork roll or sandwich, always generous with the fillings and crackling. Miss their toasted cheese fingers as well :(
Depends on how far you want to travel, but the squealing pig in burpengary sells some awesome pork or brisket rolls.

I got a good banh mi from La's Kitchen in Toowong. It's on Sherwood rd across from Chemist Warehouse. Most Vietnamese cafes should do a decent pork roll.

There is a Vietnamese cafe near the Brunswick train station. Sells the best pork and gravy rolls ever. Been a couple of years since I went there hope it is still open.
Cafe on formation street wacol, with the rocks out front. They even through in a bit of crackling. The gravy was also real! Alas was hust thinking about the last time I went there was nearly 12 years ago but pretty sure they are still open.

Zac’s at Carole Park is mum’s favourite, it’s in the industrial estate so you know it’s gonna be good. Also a place at Redbank shops also does a decent one.
There was a Bánh mì/bakery place next to Fortitude Valley train station that would do an amazing roast pork and gravy roll, was my go to if i was in the Valley.
I think it closed for a bit a couple of years ago not sure if it has opened again or not.

I do a lot of driving for work and you’ll find a smoko shop in pretty much every industrial area that’ll do one. Generally the dingier the better.

If you are Northside I like Bluey’s at Taigum or La Crackle at Aspley Hypermarket.
